ive not used me car in 2 years and the passenger side door is jammed, just wont open from outside or inside, the inside lock jus does not wanna move, ive taken off all the screws from speaker etc and tryin to pull the panel off but dont wanna break it, is it actully possible to take it off with door closed? or any other way of some how un-jamming the lock mechanism?thanks

did u have problems unlocking it from outside with key originally? cuz mine only unlocks if u the key hit a sweetspot which can be a pain in the ass sometimes

Thats hondas saftey thing that they came up with. You have to have the door handle pulled to lock it, just so that its an extra precautionary measure to keep you from locking your keys in your car.

on my 99 civic dx with the manual doors and locks, my driver side locks when the door is open only when i have the handle pulled. has anyone else had this problem, if so, what have you done to fix it

Hey man I tried to replace the actuators in this what a nightmare they don't work so I'm trying to just get all the rods back to normal just so my door handle will work I cannot get the pin around the lock mechanism to go back on and it's not just you shape one it's a round one

Great video, detail in explanations is A+. One thing though, I am having trouble getting my interior door handle covers (the piece you removed approx. 1 min in) back on. I can't get the clips to line up with the metal slots while getting them deep enough to secure. How did you go about reassembling?

Thank you so much for this video. I had my door panel off, to fix my window, and somehow bumped out the bottom rod. I couldn't lock my door, and wondered how it went back together. Well after pausing at 5:42, after hours of searching the internet for a schematic of some kind, I was able to fix it in 10-15m (including taking the door apart, which I've done many times). I wouldn't have been able to do this myself, without this video. Thank you again!

My 98 doesnt have the screws on the bottom or in the pocket, can only find one in the door lock. Still trying to figure it out
