  • During my week stay in the Bay Area, I captured many Caltrain F40’s of which most likely I would have seen for the last time before the Stadler EMU’s replace many of them in September. I also captured F40’s that I saw on my October trip that I didn’t see on this trip. All but the 903/907/910/919 were seen. I know 910 is retired. 919 was in a wreck recently at San Bruno. We will show you all of the different locomotives in numerical order that I saw during these visits. Not all of their active locomotives will be seen but I got a very large majority of them. Most of the “screamers” were either out of service or already retired. We will identify the engine number, locomotive type, locomotives name, and the location. At the conclusion of the video, we will present a musical salute to these valorous machines that I saw on this visit. It was a tremendous joy for me to travel here from New York twice within the last year to see these gallant mechanical marvels. Caltrain has been a euphoric experience for me and I had to say bon voyage to this Caltrain era. The new Caltrain will be a joy to the local populace, but for me personally it is a sad yet joyous occasion as I know Bay Area folks will love these new trains.
