I had a 120v outlet installed behind the toilet in my 20.5 NP 377RLBH, installed a Domestic 320 with elongated bowl, then installed a Blooming NB-R1063 Bidet Seat w/ Remote. It has a heated seat, heated water, and a warm air dryer. Best upgrade I've ever made to my rig. Bidets are definitely the way to go. 👍🏻
Great video, it would be nice if you point to the item you are referring to for us non plumber newbies 😳☺️. thank you so much for sharing your knowledge of all things RV.
I would have brought my Japanese bidet seat with me when we sold our house, but it said putting it in an rv would void the warranty. Glad I came across this. Now to figure out a way to bypass our Blue Streak so we don’t walk around with blue rears! 🤣
Morning Jay, just purchased the exact setup that you have on here. I'll be installing it today, so thanks for the insight on this! Also, thanks for the pic on your piping...I was thinking of just running the mixed water straight to the toilet. This would allow to run the water into the bowl, to allow for the water to pre-warm prior to using the bidet, but I opted to just run it the same as yours..
Loved your install. I love our powered bidet at home and now I have one in my RV. I'm remodeling the bathroom in the RV to be a combination bathroom/shower so we now have a 32X32 inch shower. I was able to mount the mixing valve to the side of my new vanity and the water heater is in the vanity and right next to the toilet so the setup is perfect.
Can you provide the rv toilet make and model and what any modifications you made to fit it. Looks like a thertford style ll. Also the make and model of the bedit attachment thanx
Yes, it is a Thetford Aqua Magic Style II toilet. No modifications were made to toilet itself. Here is the bidet insert: amzn.to/3oK9Y9Y And, I've actually used this same bidet insert on the Dometic toilet, I believe it was the 320 model. The nice thing about this specific bidet insert is, it fits pretty much any toilet without making modifications to the toilet itself.
Great video! Thank you! My only question is instead of the temp mixing valve...why not just install a warm water bidet seat that comes with the temp mixing valve built into it already ? This is the type that we have in our home. Thanks again.
Thank you! And, great question. In a previous RV I tried one of the hot/cold bidet seats that had it's own mixing valve with one for temp/volume and another for location and it worked, but I had a difficult time getting consistent temperatures as it was more of a linear valve instead of thermostatic (likely different campground water temp and weather impacted it too). So it is possible to forgo the thermostatic valve and get a hot/cold bidet control...really just a preference in the end. I like that the thermostatic valve is more of a "set and forget" option and then it keeps the bidet controls looking a little cleaner with one less knob/valve. Anyway, great question and point!
Looking at a Newmar New Aire here in the next month or so and we absolutely want to have a bidet. This is a really good option, thanks! ‘A solid number 1!’ LOL!
Great Video and well done. I am wondering what type of toilet you have in your RV however, because your bidet sprayer nozzles are below the back of the seat like it should be. But when I attempt to install my LUXE Bidet Neo 120 on my Thetford Aqua-magic II toilet, the sprayer nozzles are pushed forward a good inch from the back of the toilet seat because of the lump on the back of the toilet. I am willing to buy a new toilet if I have to if it means being able to install my bidet. So, could you please tell me what brand and model toilet you have? Thank you very much.
Yes, I've also got the Thetford AquaMagic II toilet in my Pinnacle (in video). I know what you mean with the notch on the back. I have used the Luxe bidet on a previous RV, but I've been using the Brondell thinline on my last 2x RVs as it seems to fit better. Here's a link to it: amzn.to/3oK9Y9Y
Thanks for the clear view of the layout. Any tips on how to avoid the cold water spray from the bidet before the hot water makes it to and through the mixer?
In the winter months, I'll run my vanity sink with hot to prime it since it shares the same hot water line, and then I found if I turn the bidet valve on ever so slightly, it begins to trickle out without spraying. It's very slow obviously trickling like that so it takes a little bit for the remaining cold water to purge out in the line, but that seems to work all right.
What is the soft close toilet seat you added? I’d like one but can’t find anywhere you mention the brand or where you purchased yours. Thanks in advance
Yes I have used it on both and it fits just fine. There is a fair amount of adjustment the way the mounting points rotate and can go diagonal or forward and backward. It seems to be a very flexible bidet seat for a variety of applications.
What difficulties did you encounter installing the bidet assembly on a Thetford toilet. Almost all RUclips Videos show it being installed on a Dometic 320 toilet. I am asking because I have a Thetford toilet and am thinking that I would have to replace it with a Dometic model in order to enjoy the same comforts as at the house.
Sure, glad to help. I did not have any difficulties on my Thetford. In fact, 3 of the last RVs that I've installed bidets on have had this same Thetford toilet. I believe only 1 of my past RVs had the Dometic. If I recall the position of the bidet insert can go a little further back on the Dometic version the way the rear lip (concealed air gap) is shaped and positioned. I think on the Thetford it sticks out just a little further toward the bowl opening. But, the way the bidet insert is shaped with the circles on either side of the mount, it kinda allows the rear lip on the Thetford to go partially between the two circular mounting posts on the bidet insert. Hope that makes sense. So what you're seeing in my video is without any kind of modifications to the actual toilet and bidet insert...just all stock there. I have seen folks that chop off the rear lip on their toilets and re-locate air gap in order to install a residential bidet seat, but for me personally I like the simplicity of this off-the-grid bidet and it just blends so nicely being low profile. Thanks for watching and hope this helps!
@@AdventureRocks Thanks for the info. The Brondell unit in the link is currently out of stock, but I saw a left hand unit that would probably work better in my bathroom. The lady of the palace likes the mixing valve idea. She refuses to use the one I installed on the toilet in the house. It is a cold only model and doesn’t like the cold rinse. Thanks again for your help.
Question on your install. What size 90 degree Pex elbow and female fitting are you using going back into the Dometic toilet? Is that 1/2”? The T valve that came with my bidet, same one you have, looks like it is 7/8” with a 3/8” male T for the Bidet. The existing lines on the Dometic toilet are just slight smaller than these.
Sure, glad to help. It was a 1/2" elbow going into my toilet. I actually skipped the T-valve that came with the bidet since I opted for the thermostatic mixing valve. Then I believe it was a 3/8" reducer going out of the mixing valve to the supply line for bidet. It can be tricky getting all the connections since we're using it in an RV and the manufacturer is intending it for a residential toilet. I remember spending quite a bit of time at the home center finding the best path with the fewest pieces/adapters.
@@AdventureRocks Thanks. I installed it over the weekend. Used the T came with it but had to order some adaptors to go down to the 1/2 inch. We only use cold water in our bidet’s in the house so kept it the same in the RV and didn’t have to run a new hot line and a mixer. I guess in Florida the water is already warm enough…:). Works well btw. We started using bidet’s during the pandemic as a way to save on TP. Frankly I don’t feel completely clean anymore unless I do use one, so happy to have one in the camper.
Correct. What I like about that particular bidet insert is that it's very flexible and has a lot of adjustments the way it mounts. So I've never had to chisel away any part of a toilet or make extra clearance. I've used it both on Dometic toilets and the Thetford toilet shown in the video.
Not at all. I really like the insert as it is adjustable such that no modification is needed to toilet. I've used it both on Thetford and Dometic toilets with no issues.
Sadly, no. Technically there are ways to modify a typical RV toilet, but most of them have an air gap blocking where a residential bidet needs clearance in the rear.
Assuming it is plumbed like mine, right off vanity hot water supply...one option is to turn on vanity faucet to call for hot water, then it's just a short trip to bidet. Otherwise, if you cycle on bidet and open valve just slightly, it'll drip/clean instead of spray so then water will be flowing including the hot. Typically it's pretty fast though in my case, so perhaps more of a concern in the winter months.
@@AdventureRocks Thanks very much! So by that rationale, I have on demand hot but it’s actually pretty convenient because the digital temp control is right there. I think I’ll just plumb the whole toilet plus bidet to hot water. That way I can partially fill the bowl with the remaining cold in the line, or just leave heat off if unneeded. The instant hot on this particular model needs strong flow (one faucet full on) before it kicks on.
After seeing this, I immediately ordered the Brondell bidet. This was after trying 2 others that did not work properly on the Thetford toilet. I still had to use bumpers though as the seat did not sit flush on the rim like yours. Did I miss something? Or do something wrong? Thanks for a great video!
@@howards4436 Maybe...I remember I had to adjust it the way the inner circles kinda spin/slide to get it positioned just right. I double checked and my lid does lay nice and flat on the bowl.
It's a bit more complex on RV toilets depending on model due to the air gap (hump) on rear of toilet. I've seen some modify to accomodate a household electric 120V seat, but it just depends on which model toilet you have.

I absolutely love my bidet and hate using a toilet without one. Mine is cold water only and it doesn't bother me at all!
I hear you! Life changing! :)

Finally a video that shows a bidet that fits the Thetford 42070-AQUAMAGIC STYLE II that doesn’t require using a saw to modify the unit. Thanks!
Glad to hear. I really enjoy it...works like a charm.
