We(Man Utd) should be going for experienced strikers who have low total shots per 90(under 3) and a high non-penalty goal scoring prowess. Someone like Dovbyk or Sørloth would fit the billing. Our wingers don't pass the ball enough.

Hojlund scored 16 last season including 5 in the cl in a team that struggled and didn't create enough chances for a striker. It's definitely better than an okay season for him
@@mzakaria10 lmao that's not how analysis is done. the only thing he does is scoring and he doesnt do that enough. he is not bringing anything to the table with regard to playmaking, hold up play, assisting, link up play etc... 10 PL goals a season is just not enough for that sort of player. and a lot of his goals are gk and cb mistakes, tap ins from shots that hit the post etc... that why something like half of his goals are unassisted.
@@goytomteklu I agree and disagree. 11 league goals for a 21 year old striker that gets 2 touches a game is "okay." Don’t agree with the fernandes point. Zirkzee and Fernandes will actually work perfectly just like Fernandes and martial did. Because Bruno actually is an elite box crasher and goalscorer.
I expect nothing better from propagandists. I have no idea about zirkzee but fernandes for 4 years has been exactly that type of player especially when martial and Rushford were firing.
@@iamshofiulazam exactly also I just find it interesting that in their graphic they claim Fernandes will drop deeper if Zirkzee drops deep when the logical and actual scenario is Fernandes playing higher because he and Zirkzee will interchange lol.

The people who use goal scoring stats against young players should be aware that Shearer scored 17 in 77 games for Southampton. Stats are not everything 😂
The bit that excites me about Zirkzee is he's the kind of striker United should have got last summer. They had a quite successful attacking unit based on Weghorst or Martial dropping in to receive the ball, making gaps in the backline and then Martinez/Shaw/Eriksen/Bruno playing "up, back and through" off Weghorst to Rashford. Weghorst and Martial averaged about 2 shots per 90 that season, while the players around them all got double or more each. Then Weghorst's loan ends, they go for Kane but he's too expensive, and instead of finding somebody (like Zirkzee) who can play a similar creative forward role, they get Hojlund who just wants to score goals. The whole balance of the frontline is off because everyone wants to run behind, nobody wants to drop and create space. It takes Hojlund about 6 months to figure out that positioning, but in those 6 months United finish bottom of their Champions League group, well out of the top 4 race and Rashford's confidence is obliterated. I said at the time, you either bet on Hojlund and rebuild the frontline for him, you get rid of Hojlund and find somebody more like Weghorst, or you be patient while Ten Hag coaches his striker to play a way he's not used to. Looks like they've gone for option C, but they're not making the same mistake in who they buy as a backup/alternative. Get somebody who fits the system better and United will score more goals than getting an elite striker who won't get any service.
The system you're talking about wasn't successful at all! United's goal difference was shocking last year as well. Something is fundamentally wrong with the attacking setup under Ten Hag.
About DCL, what no one mentions is that it was Duncan Ferguson playing a 4-4-2 that got him playing his best. Then when Ancelotti came in he gradually moved away from 4-4-2 and this coincided with his gradual drop off in form before the disastrous appointment of Rafa and the beginning of his injury problems (go figure). It is frustrating to me that Dyche loves a 4-4-2 but has been loathe to play it.
Hojlund run in behind? Youre having a laugh. You got him wrong ! He likes fighting with defenders, losing the battle, and falling down. He has been used as a target man, and he plays with his back to goal. Quite rarely, he is on the last shoulder, like a Rashford. None of you actually watch him.
United hierarchy it seems hasn’t learnt anything from their past mistakes…. First they awarded Ten Hag a new contract and now they are signing another Lukaku but much worse in this Zirkzee guy.
Calvert lewin, just no. If he wasnt English I bet no one was looking at him. We had 60+ injuries last season, how about not taking someone who is injured?
I think a Zirksee lineup would be crazy, Garnacho or Rashford left whoever is on form, bruno right where he's been consitently amazing, and mctominay crashing. That would be a lineup absolutely full of goals and VERY solid in defense.
A back three is the most feasible and highest quality option if we get Yoro and De Ligt; Yoro, De Ligt and Martinez, I think. This selection also allows all players to get rest and rotate because we cannot have another season of injuries like last season. Yoro, De Ligt and Martinez are amazing at passing, positioning, tackling, and all of them have goals in them from set pieces and De Ligt has a crazy long shot in his skillset.
@HonouHana Although this is feasible and certainly sounds good for those 3 players, what is your actual formation, what players are you putting in the other positions and how does our squad depth match up to the requirements of the positions in your formation? Also, Ten Hag has never played with 3 at the back to any great degree so do you think it would be wise for him to scrap the plan he is trying to implement just to suit these 3 players? Although I am skeptical you have fully thought this through, I am open to your opinion if you can provide more depth.

In attack, the overload would hit with a lot of physicality, creativity and forms, with Rashford almost as a striker at times, seeing Zirkzee, Hojlund, Rashford and Garnacho play each other in is going to be a whole lot more unpredictable thanks to Zirkzee's love for playing in his teammates.
