      @LorcanWard 5 лет назад +5

      This is why I feel its always really important to dive into other guitarists styles. You might find something that sounds simple to your ears can be a big challenge because the guitarists starts with upstrokes or picks every note without any legato. Little things like that can really push you out of your comfort zone if you have already developed your playing to do the opposite. Its really challenging to re-program your brain and fingers to do something that feels unnatural.

    It's crazy to see how many people forgot that necrophagist is extremely technical and (most) tech death bands now stay with those foundations, aside from those few bands that are creating original sounds.

    This kind of stuff is really inspirational. As a guy who has never mastered anything, I often assume people can just fly into these songs like they are nothing. I wonder how the writing process for Archspire is?

    As a guitar player with little patience, this is very inspiring to see such a skilled musician struggle to learn a song and keep going.
    I typically give up after 15 mins and just go through ultimate guitar trying to find different songs, learning little riffs here and there and rarely every sticking with a complete one.
    Last song I learned was Black Winter Day. The intro took forever to learn, but finally got it. The rest is pretty much just power chords.
    Tried to learn From Wisdom to Hate and got lost somewhere in the middle. I might revisit that one this weekend after watching your video.

    • @DeanLamb
      @DeanLamb  5 лет назад

      The video process is part of the whole thing, doing a video forces me to stick to learning the song. Glad you find these useful!

      Dean Lamb im 28 and only recently started down the usually incorrect world of online tabs. I used to for the longest time sit in front of a stereo and work out veil of maya Meshuggah after the burial and through the eyes of the dead by ear. Im not saying its better but it is definitely more satisfying not “cheating” but fuck me there were many times i wish i had them though closest id get if i was lucky was a play through from a bandmember or good cover on RUclips. Still not a big fan of computers in general so as cool as i think axfx is idk if ill ever get one because not only do i have to understand the axfx learning curve i have to learn the software on the computer too. I am happy with my high gain tube heads but the convience of axfx is unparalleled

    • @ErrorlVlacro
      @ErrorlVlacro 2 года назад

    • @micah8943
      @micah8943 2 года назад

      @@ErrorlVlacro I like it, it does add an extra step of separation, but it's also like having a rough draft of midi to import into the song before tracking/mixing. I still do a lot of tweaking with fills and velocities in the daw but if you like writing drums in your daw then you'd probably prefer that
