lol shes so funny and your editing just sets it off, shit has me laughing every vid at least 3x if not way more, especially when she gets into the song lol
Hey Dean do more solo composition videos like this. Walk us through some of your ideas about phrasing, scale choices and the like. I agree that writing solos is more of a personal things but always refreshing to see others' processes. Cheers
Dude, you guys totally need to do a recurring segment where you write some death metal songs together. Also loved the parts nerding out about the songs
How passionate Clair gets when talking about the solos she loves... Thats how i get when i talk about music, all animated n shit. The only problem is I'll talk to my wife about this stuff but it doesn't resonate with her so I'm just gushing about nonsense to her lol
That was a really good video. I learned things had fun and understood Claire's feelings at the end. And Dean you're on point about it being really personnal. And I'd love a follow up.
This is just pure gold. Love to see how musicians go about their creative process. I've played guitar for a long time but never got into theory. Seeing all these chord progressions being talked about makes me think one should.....
Couldn't believe it when she went straight to the Three Dimensional Defect solo, that one has been my favourite for years, so good.. Love these videos guys! Also, "shreddy ass runs"
I love it when *Dean* idea , how to solo like so good and punctual at the same time with the riff . And also those sweep picking is freakin’ *GOOD* dude
I just set notifications to "All", because I can't bare to miss a single second more of any of these videos. Bloody hilarious. Good content, great editing. I'm so entertained. xD
This is really encouraging from the perspective of someone who has tried and failed to play lead (I primarily play bass but tried lead for a short while) - my take away from this is that things don't always work out immediately, even for those who are already great at their craft, and I think others should take that away as well. Great stuff, as always!
I love that you show the struggles in writing… sometimes stuff just flows and it comes easy but more often than not it can be a laborious process… either process can lead to good results though from my experience.. it’s just refreshing to see other creators struggle in the same way and not just post „here’s how I write XY banger in 5 minutes“. Love you guys, keep em coming :)
ZOZO were here for more than the music. Their content, their personality, sense of humor, join them, it’s fun. It’s not referred to as the “metal community” for just the shits. Also here for the giggles. Real world problems. Have some fun, it’s not uncool to have fun.
Dean acts like an awesome colleague. Respectful and not being controlly and bossy! Understanding that it is Claire's stuff not his and She trust him enough to help her in HER work... Takes a lot of time to be this much humble and considered especially with someone who is really close to you emotionally. Good for him
Thank you Dean and Claire!! I’m a newbie in the tech death metal genre, and Necrophagist are fucking awesome!!! Thanks for being awesome you two!!! Greetings from a fellow Canuck!!!
I know this video is old as hell and this comment will probs fly under the radar but it seriously made me reevaluate and analyze a lot of my own solo writing and I really just wanted to say thanks because it definitely has helped me as a musician in developing my own style.
Recently, i bought all the material to make music. I have 2 tech death proggy songs in progress right now and im looking forward to practice more and finnish them
Love the video. It's cool to the writing process. I've sang my fair share of choral music and opera but, other than music composition class, I haven't written anything. BUT I am waiting to hear back from Astronomy grad school acceptances/rejections and these videos brighten this rollercoaster of a time.
Holy shit she actually said Three Dimensional Defect. I NEVER hear anyone talk about that song, but it's my favorite by Decapitated. You guys are awesome!

It reminds me of early Jeff Loomis stuff. Also this video made me almost spit coffee out of my mouth. Love these. Last thing. New Archspire soon! Counting down the days.
Did you try programming drums to it/jammed it out with a drummer?? Sometimes I have no idea what do with a riff or where to go with it until I hear drums with it
@@ClainesWorld I have programmed drums to it, it made it 1000 times better. Still have no idea on how to turn into a song. Maybe I should shelve it after I have recorded it until another special riff comes by, and with their powers combined, become a song.
I love Clarie's playing, and I love watching these guys together. But let's face it, Dean is a hardcore badass on the axe. As an intermediate guitarist with some skill and precious little talent, I love this kind of stuff.
