Hi Phil, you sir have been one of the biggest inspirations for me!! The way you draw, the confidence you have within yourself and your work is amazing. Thank you for mentoring me and the contagious positive outlook on life you displayed when we were at MGM together. Hope all is well for you! I would love to have you come visit as a guest speaker if you are available, just email me. pdimitriadis@fullcoll.edu

Just stumbling on this vid and as a newbie I really liked your approach just like how instructors like Peter han and others can keep you interested on the stuff that you have to focus on. I only have a question what can you do to learn fast when you don't have any ideas what to draw? Like you've done your mileage exercises but in terms of end product drawing for your enjoyment you don't have anything in mind anymore, how can you find a solution for that.
Sir I have question about just getting started with learn how to animate a simple flat shape square and is getting ready to jump on a flat platform I am keep it drawing wise very simple so I can really get down the basic of Bringing a character to life even though it a flat square I hope that does it sound dumb?
Hi Brian, Sorry for the delay.. That doesnt sound dumb! The basics are really important and often skipped by many intro students. Here is what you do.... 1. On a top piece of paper sketch the animation path that the piece of paper will walk in. 2.Place objects of items within its path for it to interact with, jump over, walk around, etc. 3.When it interacts with these items, use tilt, with squash and stretch applied to the interactions. 4. Then go back and draw every 24th key frame, so you have an indication of all the movement over the entire animation. 5.Then go back and draw every 12th frame. 6. Then go back and add in the "in-between" frames, ( padding), that controls the rest of the movement and the speed of the animation. More frames in-between, the slower it goes. Hope this helps..
Thank You Sir I will work on that and I know Your Super busy so I do appreciate when You are able to take some time and help all of us God Bless and have a great day Sir
