I was super worried about a Sicario sequel -- I thought to myself, "No way can the sequel be anything but a cheap cash-in!" but boy was I wrong. I think Sicario II is actually MORE intense than the first one because you have no idea what is going to happen next. The movie takes some good twists and turns and kept me on the edge of my seat from start to finish/ Props to the director for keeping the sequel in the spirit of the first film. Though the first film is still an absolute classic, especially that ending sequence.
The beauty of those movies and why they work so well is that both Villeneuve the director and Roger Deakins on photography spent many years doing documentaries. They know exactly how to shoot to make everything insanely believable. So cool!

Having worked on the border I will tell you that’s exactly what’s going on. Given the green light our Border Patrol could shutdown the cartels in a week. The only reason cartels stay in business is it is a business and our government makes money off of it.
This is definitely one of two great parts in this movie. The other was the interrogation scene with the drones taking out the dude's brothers. The rest of the movie couldn't hold a candle to the entirety of the first movie.
And not particularly unreal, either. I was in Ireland during The Troubles, and you'd see people stopped at lights and stop signs slightly open their doors. Nobody sat in the middle seat of a sedan. The idea was that if the IRA bombed your car, you had a better chance of survival if the blast blew you out.
I want a prequel about Brolins character. Dude has obviously done this kind of work for years

This is definitely one of two great parts in this movie. The other was the interrogation scene with the drones taking out the dude's brothers. The rest of the movie couldn't hold a candle to the entirety of the first movie.

And not particularly unreal, either. I was in Ireland during The Troubles, and you'd see people stopped at lights and stop signs slightly open their doors. Nobody sat in the middle seat of a sedan. The idea was that if the IRA bombed your car, you had a better chance of survival if the blast blew you out.
This is one of my favorite scenes. Definitely bad ass!
