thank you for creating such an excellent Track, what a challenge it was. I made it all up to the Top in my MR Triton GLS and have been told by Charly to be the first Female Driver to conquer the Track.
Another aside, disconnecting sway bar for the Def. Si at X-Eng does a rear sway bar for the Def which uses a freewheel hub and a series 3 long half shaft. Really clever.
Charlie & his dad, Warren, have cut some amazing tracks. Leaves me with smiles to make a crop duster jealous. Amid it all, there are a bunch of comfortable beginner tracks & educational progressions. Thanks for stopping to show the scenery as well!
Fantastic video guys. Loved seeing the trust between driver and spotter, it was awesome actually. What an 'epic mission' making it to Ekes Peak and riding the brakes down. The scenery, the flies, the heat, oh so Aussie. Sent here by Ronny. Thank you all so much.
Hello Nick, Hello Mark, I've been a fan of your videos for a long time, unfortunately I rarely comment, even if I like them, but today I just can't help it! It's exactly the video I've been waiting for a while, you and Ronny Dahl together...perfect. All my personal off-road heroes on tour together! A great video, again you have fun with what you do. Thank you for this video. Keep it up, please do it again with Ronny and Torbs! Many greetings from Germany
What an incredible adventure! From the challenging climbs to the scenic views, this video was an absolute blast to watch. Congrats to the team for having the courage and skill to make it to the top!
Had to see how this ended! Good one guys! Now i know why my dog barked for a couple of days, he could hear the Defender brakes from over here! What an adventure, the track should be called "Dog days" 😅
if you're planning on doing another adventure like this I would suggest bringing a Milwaukee Hatchet. it is a small chainsaw that can cut up 200mm (if your smart about it you can do bigger) tree/logs i. I clear walking tracks for a living and this has changed our lives when it comes to fatigue. You can hold it in one hand and it requires a lot less energy and it willl take up far less space in your vehicles.
Fantastic video! Some badass driving! Please please show us a closeup of the Defender sun visors! I have a Defender myself and I would love to have some like those:)
After watching you guys climb to the top of Ekes Peak on Ronnies channel, I was wondering how you'd get down. That looked more hair raising than the climb. Just subbed 👍
Yeah like the bloke before me Ronny's part 1 sent me here, it goes to show the diversity of the vehicles that travelled but it's the preparation and the modifications that helped you get to the top, typical Ronny leading the way you guys have to collaborate more often as the symmetry on between all of you was what made another lot of viewing, good luck guys, oh by the way when are we seeing more from Sidetracked?
the Defender would be better standard height, also add a rear anti-roll bar as that is for stability (you still get full suspension travel on a standard height vehicle). A Defender has a factory angle of 45° minimum before rolling, with a 2" lift it should still be about 40-42° and in my experience (20+ years driving Land Rovers) the driver will give up well before the vehicle will. Personally I think your springs are too soft, so you get too much body roll and that makes it feel like it's unsstable. This is why for 90% of uses standard height is best.
Question…: When you go downhill in the Defender, with drum brakes in the rear, do you pull your hand brake up 2-3 no notches to changes the brake balance more to the rear? - I do it in my Gen4 Jimny, do you do it too?
Defender standard is a transmission brake so pulling hand brake would cause rears to go in opposite direction 😮 Over from Ronny part 1. On some of our Def we replace the drum trans brake with a disc from X-Eng here in the UK
Awesome colab so keeen for more lads 😃
Ronnys Part 1 sent me here :)
Thanks for coming over.
@@SIDETRACKED Same here. Looked like hard work. But what a great adventure. 👍

As I said over on Ronny's channel, even tho I'm a Cruiser Boy you have to love that Defender.

Would have made it less sketchy if disconnected. I did that in my disconnected 2a and made it heaps good
I really enjoyed that gents, thank you very much.👍
Our pleasure!

11:30 “taking a much harder line to preserve living trees and shrubs”, good work gents
Absolutely well done everyone. Tough as track!

Amazing cinematography!! Love colours and drone shots!! Love this bois !! Always a delight to watch 👌🏽👌🏽
Awesome. Hope the owner can get this up and running. Will need some track indicators though, otherwise risk some going over the edge.
You need to fit those crawler gears Mark...
Great video once again lads.
Epic edit lads, what an amazing track! Bendleby just got even better 👌
Sooo much work but a massive reward that night at the top
Awesome video guys looked bloody awesome. Hopefully it opens to the public one day 🤞.
bloody amazing episode boyz...
Thanks mate.
On the climb It felt so good to see the defender tackle the rocks and uneven terrain so calm while the cruisers struggled.
Cruisers are like fat chicks trying to climb that mountain lol.
Bhaaaasassaa
Well done, boys! Excellent collab!
Much appreciated!

Insane adventure. well done guys
Loved it! ❤
Great team work boys
Im a cruiser guy
But that defender is something special❤
Thanks mate
I love the cruisers but I miss my LR the gearing didn't do it justice. 1hz in a LR now that will be something
Fantastic video! Some badass driving!
Please please show us a closeup of the Defender sun visors! I have a Defender myself and I would love to have some like those:)
You can get sun visers from sydney
Great collab guys! I really enjoyed this..
Would be good to see another collab in future :)
Thanks!
That's insane. And before you even look at the scenery
After watching you guys climb to the top of Ekes Peak on Ronnies channel, I was wondering how you'd get down. That looked more hair raising than the climb. Just subbed 👍
Thanks Guys...just off to have a Bex and a good lie down...phew!
Defender brake pads ask around on forums.
Its a mismatch in hardness makes them squeal
Great edit guys . Was a awesome trip .
Thanks a ton!
Just done this track over long weekend what a challenge
Great adventure lad.

Got some more coming soon.
Two of my favourite 4x4 RUclips channels collaborating in one of my favourite locations, what more could you ask for on a Sunday?
Glad you enjoyed it
F1 is the choice of the correct line at very high speed.
- 4x4 off-roading is the choice of the correct line at low speed.
Nice one 🙌

Where did you get the sun visors in the Defender 110 @15:22 ?
Just a DIY job.
"Sidewheeled Track"?
Edit: I meant Sidewheeling Track".
It's a combo of both RUclips channels 😁
Don't mind that actually, nice one.
Perhaps a name for the new track 😂
Give me that Landy, Omg how cool is that car....

Just used the pedal mate, other than the squealing the brakes were great

No
Good old Land Rover, it isn't a trip without one breaking or somehow otherwise being a pain in the arse.
Defender just needs a disconnecting sway bar, lower gearing, and it’ll be perfect.
Time my friend. With time. And money.
Who wishes LR had continued making real off road trucks?
Ineos grenadier or get yourself an old landie and just keep it... I replaced mine with a prado and I miss my lr d2a
@@stevefairley2535 I have a 90 for enjoyment but also daily an F150 for practicality, safety, family, etc. Might replace F150 with a Gren ute.
Does this stuff ever make you wish for a smaller lighter vehicle?
Every time.
Slap me thrice and hand me to me mama. I have not seen this coming.
Trail name "Help Me Rhonda"
auto or manuals?
Ronny’s video sent me here too
Welcome aboard
5ks in 4days wow.
Seriously hard work, but worth the reward.
Hey dfumbass
Seatbelt -No excuse
No idiotic theories
Young fellas watch this
terrafirma 4x4 do some nice rear corner bumpers for the defender
