    Oh my gosh, the sleep deprivation from staying in the hospital post birth truly is THE WORST! I can never sleep a wink and I go mad. We've always managed to get out within 24/hrs, I'm so glad you stood your ground to move things along faster. More people need to learn about the power they have to say no to the hospital. If I ever have to go through it again the one thing I'm declining is the newborn hearing screening. Seriously kept us in the hospital an extra 12 hrs because baby failed it in one ear, they had to wait X amount of time to try her again just for her to fail it AGAIN then they just tell us we have to go back in 6 weeks because "it's common" for babies not to respond. Well, DUH! Why do we need to know on day 1 baby can't hear, I'm pretty sure we can figure it out or at least wait a few weeks for the first test. OK rant over. So glad for all your miracles. I agree, plans changing is perfect for helping humble us and most importantly be more compassionate towards others who don't have the "perfect" birth.

      Thank you so much for your kind and commiserating comment. 💕And the sleep deprivation is ABSOLUTELY insane. I looked like a different person after those two days... when I looked in the mirror I didn't even recognize myself! So sorry to hear about that annoying experience you had with the hearing screening, but I am SO glad that you were able to get out of there earlier rather than later. Again, hospitals are excellent with emergencies and with many things, but they aren't perfect. And, YES we need to empower more people to understand their rights at the hospital. Their rights to decline stuff, and also that often the medical professionals are wrong. (They were wrong about the size of BOTH of my boys, among many other things.) It's so important to not be fear-mongered!

    Why would you avoid an ultrasound your entire pregnancy? I’m not trying to be rude I’m genuinely curious and don’t understand why you would want to not check on the baby

    • @VeggieMagnifique
      @VeggieMagnifique  7 месяцев назад +2

      Thanks for your question! Totally a fair question, at that. In my own personal research, ultrasounds do pose some risks, and if everything seems to be going along well, I trust the process without doing one. Keep in mind, that it's a relatively new thing to do so many ultrasounds with pregnant women. That being said, I totally understand that some women find it gives them peace of mind, etc. I respect that. Here's an article that brings up some good points to consider about ultrasounds. chriskresser.com/natural-childbirth-iib-ultrasound-not-as-safe-as-commonly-thought/
      I encourage everyone to always do their own research of course!

    I always love your raw honesty, Ann! I was thrilled to have run into you yesterday. I'm really sad to hear that the membership didn't take off. Business ideas can be hit or miss and every successful person has their failures before finding the big score.
    On the topic of the birth, I'm so proud of you, love you, and you will always be capable of doing hard things. Life is such a wild ride sometimes. I love to hear your perspective. Many miracles and I agree that not knowing can be better than knowing oftentimes. We live in times of stats and overwhelming amount of data. We tend to get glimpses into everything. But ultrasounds are the be all end all....as you saw with the weight estimate. This was a real learning, and growth journey indeed. I feel that way about many of my own births....I grew so much. Thanks for sharing

    You’re dealing / dealt with everything so well Ann 🤗 honestly impressed 💛 I had my first just after you had your second, we did manage to have our plan A, water birth at home, and thanks in part to the input we got from your videos 💛 Congratulations on your healthy baby, I’m glad everyone is ok!
    I love the idea of mama magnifique, I just didn’t feel I could spend on it with my particular financial situation at this time. I enjoy listening to podcasts to keep me awake for night feeds, and ones about babies/parenting are best 👶my fave right now is Katherine Ryan’s Telling Everybody Everything, a lot of parenting convo naturally falls in amongst general life chat 💛 maybe consider how you would feel about having mama magnifique as a podcast / channel of its own, with sponsorship etc… I’m not sure how these things work, but maybe it’s a route. All the best ✨🤗✨

      Wow, you've just made my day. 💕Thank you so much for this lovely comment -- so helpful, and thoughtful. 💕 First off, CONGRATS on the birth of your child! How wonderful that you were able to have a water birth at home. SO happy to hear that, and I'm so touched that my content helped you in some small way with this. I do love the idea of a podcast... been thinking about this... a mindful mama kind of podcast... Really glad to hear that that's something that you would like. Thank you again for this feedback, I truly appreciate it. 💛

    I was followed by an obgyn my whole pregnancy, that’s what I was most comfortable with but I take everything they say with a grain of salt. I ended up needed a csection at 39 weeks and they had me all worried my daughter was going to be small. 7lbs 2oz and completely healthy and perfect ❤

      Right?! They love to tell you your baby's going to be small... I am SO glad to hear that your daughter was completely healthy and perfect. 💕 And that's wonderful that were able to go with the route that you were comfortable with, but with a healthy skepticism! Hope your c-section recovery has been/was speedy. Thanks so much for your comment!!
