I made this recipe tonight for my family. I've never fried anything in my life. I was nervous going into this, but it came out PERFECTLY, just like yours! Thank you, Aaron, for being the most reliable cooking channel on RUclips. You make the recipes so easy and delicious!
I concluded that Asron has the ability to read the minds of people who are missing kitchen supplies. One more video and he might level up to teleporting to your kitchen.
Quotes from my wife since I started watching this channel: ‘’Why are you using scissors to cut the kimchi? We have a chopping board’ ''Of course you are responsible!!’’ ‘’Why is there green onion in the ice cream??’’ '‘You followed your heart? Its too salty! Follow your head next time.’’ ''‘Why are you panicking?? I’m just deep frying the rice cakes!’’ '‘Why do you keep bringing me beer?’’
My mom, who's lived in the US for over 40 years still calls it horseradish. She had a full on argument with the grocery store staff because they gave her horseradish when she asked for horseradish and they couldn't read her mind that she actually wanted worcestershire sauce.
I've been making fried pork chops with mashed potatoes and cream gravy for years. The batter idea will allow me to up my game on that part as well as this whole recipe gives me new, slightly healthier way to serve fried pork. Thank you for all you do. You make even more daunting and complicated tasks look simple because you break down the technical aspects into simple, every day language. That's a sign of a true teacher IMO.
So considerate thinking about my weight. My son and i love watching your show. Entertaining and the food is amazing. We have made quite a few recipes! Thank you and keep up the amazing work!
Our family made this for dinner tonight the starch was a great tip! Also dressed the cabbage with sesame oil, rice vinegar and sweet soy glaze also added some rice vinegar to the rice
We made a sesame dressing like yours tonight and it was great! It looked so rich, but was light and fresh on the cabbage, carrot and onion salad I made.
Thank you for the video. I normally buy the penko bread crumbs at the store but knowing how easy it is to just buy bread and rip it apart makes one less item to store in my spicy shelf.
I thought Claire would say, ‘I cannot live without you, Aaron, in my life’! But she said she cannot live without tonkatsu! Hahahaha Ohhh Claire, you are so lovely and humorous. I just made one last Monday and I used chicken breast and a complete tonkatsu pack from McKormick (available in The Philippines). But Im definitely saving this, my Dutch inlaws will definitely love to try a homemade tonkatsu (and they probably will not have the pack in The Netherlands). 🥰🥰🥰 Thank you Aaron & Claire 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
We're the same, hyung! I also use fresh grated milk bread (sometimes saltine crackers) if I have no panko bread crumbs in my kitchen. Works all the time for me.
I just tried the second method of tonakatsu for dinner with rice and cabbage and O.m.g.! It’s the best pork I’ve ever made period! The only thing I modified is I stuffed a piece of mozzarella in the middle of the pork chop before drenching in potato starch with egg mixture, then patted on some panel bread crumbs 😋😋😋
You guys are still the highlight of my week! I always watch as soon as I get the notification, just posting a comment now 😁. You've shown us rice, noodles and potato. How about a video about all the things you do with bread? 🤔
WOOOW.. !! Thanks for showing me the Potato starch tip.. I always ended up w the NAKED chicken and Pork or steak cutlet ... not anymore... thanks for sharing your recipe 😉👌
@@AaronandClaire Well it might be awhile since I don't do much breading or deep frying. I've been thinking of you when I look at the sad sad Asian food section at the local grocery store heh hee.
I made your tonkatsu tonight and it was so satisfying! The crust adhered to the meat (thanks to Aaron’s tip about using potato starch and egg) and the tonkatsu sauce tasted like it came from a restaurant. Thanks Aaron and Claire! 🥰
Followed the steps and finally produced a decent, restaurant-like TONKATSU and sauce!!! Thank you Aaron! I used this recipe for our valentines Lunch! 🥰🥰🥰
Aaron! I have to tell you! I’m a middle school teacher in USA. I have started saying “Let’s get started!” In my online classes. Also I say “Don’t worry; I’m here for you!” (With my finger pointed up! Lol! I do this!)
Got this from you! (So basically I’m pretending my virtual classes are one of your videos... 🤔 If only I could figure our how to have a “taste tester” in my reading classes...)
Haha Awesome!😁 I love you are putting lots of efforts to make your class more fun and enthusiastic!!! I'm sure your students will love it, too! Keep up the good work! 😉👍 P.S.I wish I could attend your class as well!!! 🤣🤣🤣

Panko is easy to find in large Multicultural cities like Toronto. Most large grocers have Asian foods sections and have a variety of Asian ingredients. We also have specialty convenience stores called casually K-Marts which specialize in Korean and Asian food stuffs including meat and vegetables as well as all condiments and ingredients you would need for Japanese, Chinese and Korean cooking.
Here in Germany we call it 'Schnitzel Wiener Art' (Schnitzel Vienna Style). I've done this one Yesterday for Dinner, together with the croquettes from the other Episode. And the Sauce: Elevates this dish to a whole new Level. I'm Loving it.
Yummy! Looks amazing! Also, could you make a video on different ways to cook black-bean-paste instant noodles? Like the one you made with fiery hot noodles
Thank you Aaron and Claire! I love your videos. I’ve made the rice balls and the vegetable pancake. Thank you for the easy recipes. And for making all of us hungry 😋
Wow now I know why my tonkhatsu always separates!! Gonna try the potato starch recipe next time. Anther good one. You keep it going there, Aaron and Claire!
Thanks Aaron. The tonkatsu looks so yummy. I gonna try it since u made it so simple n yummy. Claire says she can eat it for 365 days. I would love it too but I cant as I may fall sick eating too much fried food. What will Korean eat or drink to bring down the body heat?

@Aaron and Claire I'm so happy I found your RUclips channel ❤️ and you're hilarious... 😂😂😂😂😂
Every time Claire says "Mmm!" she makes me want to make the dish!
I thought you're gonna say like, "Even time Claire say, Mmm, I want to snatch her food". 🤣🤣🤣

😍😍😍🤣
Wow. Fried to golden brown perfection 😍👏👏👏
You can do it, too! 😍😍😍😆
I don’t eat at restaurants often enough to be disappointed in my own cooking 😂
Wow, that's a good strategy!!! 🤣🤣😋
It's the same reason Aaron always cooks at home for Claire! jk
I find I'm more disappointed when i do go out for dinner.
Cook at home👌
I make food at home first then im disappointed when I go to restaurants :/
Same here most places I am disapointed because I could have made better to my taste at home cheaper too.0
Aron is a good cook & claire is a good tester !!!!
👏👏👌
Good couple!!!
😍😍
Wow, Claire is so talkative afterwards; sounds like you knocked this one out of the park. Thank you for sharing.
You noticed it!! She gets so talkative when it comes to delicious food. 🤣🤣🤣🤣
English isn’t his first language and he says “worcestershire” better than I do.
I practiced it like hundred times. 🤣🤣🤣

Exactly what I was thinking! 😆
imagine saying it out loud lol...i even skip past the word when i read worces... somewhere xD
He just made cooking much more fun. I love it. Thank you🤗
