In 1985 The Exploited came to No. California and I hung out with them in San Francisco at their On,Broadway show and took acid with big John. The next week we all carpooled up to Sacramento for their show up there. After the show, I took Wattie and the band to my house where the party's always were. I rode all over downtown Sacto on my Honda Intercepter motorcycle with Wattie on the back! In 1985, he was just like he is in this interview-still can't understand half what he says! :-) Fuck I love this guy! Glad he's still alive and PUNK AS FUCK! Great interview.

I came back down, and told my friend, Gypsy, and she went up, then came back down and said, "We just got invited to the after party". After the show, we all headed to the Yacht Club, and were greeted by five Atlanta PD who put us all against the wall. I looked over at Wattie, who was quiet and looked bored, like he'd been through it a thousand times. Wish I was there but, I was introduced “Death Before Dishonor”, “Let’s Start A War Said Maggie One Day…” & my favorite “Horror Epics”. I heard wild stories of The Exploited in Cincinnati somewhere 1987-88 I think… Skins and the Punk’s were at war but, later came to terms… one story I can little detail you is Wattie ended up going out that night after the bogarts show with an old friend I know that ended up shooting up that H garbage and getting their ass beating including with a 2x4 wood in the basement of someone’s house… went to the hospital and……. it was gnarly and Wattie came out like never happened… it’s a legend but, one thing is Wattie carried himself well and never bragged one bit of his past too much… little stories he’ll share but, not all the darkest and f’d up ones!
Wattie and the Exploited are definitely better than any heavy metal ban from past to future cause none of them lived as dark as his life has been. What a legend. As a former skinhead I’m glad I found this band as a young teenager I have huge love for our old Punk’d and skins of the past but, the youth has a lot of learning, research and educating themselves and can learn alot from us. The best quote I’ve ever heard from a punk “Bath in Old’E English Malt Liquor & you’ll stay Young forever…” whelp… what do you know… 47 and still looking young but, a little speckles of grey.

I went to see GANG GREEN and JERRY'S KIDS when they played London in 1988 (or maybe '89) and THE EXPLOITED were the local UK band. I remember everyone was gobbing at the band and Wattie was gobbing back at everyone. Good times. LOL

I went all out with that fashion punk shit when I was in high school, listening The Casualties and of course, the Exploited from time to time (don't listen to The Casualties anymore, for obvious reasons). People were surprised a fuckin' punk could have a chihuahua. So I can defo relate to Wattie on this front.

I've only just found this channel and the amount of band's being interviewed that I've seen late 70s early 80s is amazing, I had forgot how long ago it was, I can remember Watty having a fight with a bouncer at the Gala club in Norwich 1982 .

I'm not an actual punk fan but I like a few punk songs from few bands. But when I listened to The Exploited's Death Before Dishonor cassette back in my high school years...OH SHIT! I was so fucking hooked!! I still listen to that album now in my 40's. That album is my all time favorite. Also like Let's Start a War album.

(Big fuck-off pretentious question alert) In the De Coelesti Hierarchia (On the Celestial Hierarchy) by Pseudo-Dionysius the Areopagite there are seven Godly beings that are "beyond angelic". From bottom to top they are : Archangels / Powers / Virtues / Dominions / Thrones / Cherubim and finally Seraphim. So the question is, which one is she?

This is a good interview. If people read the bands lyrics about the song, "horror epics," then those who read the lyrics would know that the Exploited have never been a fascist band. Horror epics would never have been written if Wattie was a nazi. The song talks about saving starving African kids. What would a guy write that song for if he was racist. Anarchy is the complete opposite of stupid fascist. It's always someone saying, "I heard this or heard this," and have no idea about what the exploited are about. I met Wattie in 1991 at the milk bar in Jacksonville, FL. He was cool as fuck wasn't an egotistical asshole. They actually feed us and also gave us as many beers as we could drink. The only other band that is cool as the Exploited back stage is the "U. K. Subs. Charlie Harper did the same as the exploited. Also, after meeting the Exploited, they put us on every guest list for the shows in FL. The Exploited has been my favorite band since I was 14 yrs old, and I just turned 50 on the 26th of Dec.

This is so cool getting to interview Wattie I don't know how you manage to get interview all these great bands but well done. I'm Scottish too. I saw you at Rebellion this year you were in the Empress Ballroom filming on the balcony. I was on the opposite side doing the same thing. I only started filming for the past couple of years so I'm still learning how to handle the camera in the right way for shows like this.

I must say I really appreciate this video. Thank you for not using subtitles over wattie'svoice, I understand english and I can figure it out lol. And also Wattie kind of covered a story I had of my first exploited concert in 2005... I was a young Chicano (brown skin, spanish/native american) teenager and was in the pit while the exploited opened their set with the song the massacre, perfect opening song by the way, (and might I add I was an MVP linebacker in high school football at the time) and was in the pit when all of a sudden I saw a flash of white light and my face started hurting. I said to myself I should probably sit down. after that I learned that I had caught an elbow from this enormous skinhead in the pit, now I know it is cliche , but you should have seen the size of this guy lol. conclusion that is the story of my only black eye ever and a fun example of an exploited show.
