Great catch, perfect example at 5:59. The thick bass synth perfectly mimics the usual syncopated 4 note salsa bass rhythms, just with a higher bpm. ¡Qué chévere!
I've had the prologue theme stuck in my head since childhood, and forgot which mega man game it came from. LowTierGod had a version of it playing during his stream, and I finally found it, after all this time...^___^
I haven't played this game in twenty years. Somehow I still remember playing it in the mall in my hometown, on the upper level just outside the movie theater. I think I had mixed feelings about the game but overall I liked the second one better because it surprised me more. But maybe I'm mixing them up. I still have my copy and my Game Boy Color, but... It's probably best to just remember this game fondly and listen to the sweet music, rather than actually play it.

Chill Penguin is my favorite GB version. SO good!
loved this game since I was a kid, and I would use the soundtest to listen to these songs while doing other things
Chill Penguin's theme sounds a little tropical now

It's to cool you down with a warn island sound

Spark Mandrills stage was ALWAYS my favorite song and this version is a nice treat
MegaMan Xtreme was to show what the MegaMan X series would’ve looked like on the NES
