Been living in Bristol for 5 years I agree with you that the public transport is appealing and expensive. My impression of Bristol is more of “northern salary, southern cost of living” but it’s a great life if you could get a remote London job and live in London❤
Ive lived here all my life and I’m now based around 4 miles east from the centre. Bristol isn’t as commercial as other large cities as we don’t have a high end football team or a large stadium for concerts etc but we do have some great landmarks along with restaurants/entertainment/pubs in abundance. Plenty of music/arts in the central areas along with students everywhere. Close to the M4/M5 interchange 👍. Unfortunately now it’s overpopulated and expensive (a small attached 2 bed in my road is pushing £300k), and because the council have cut funding there’s more rubbish lying around and weeds are on the pavements along with a dumped sofa which has been at the top of the road for over a month.
Hello Elise, A very nice and varied video of a city that also cast a little spell over me. The drone shots at the beginning of your video are very nice and I think you have a very nice style, at least that's how it comes across in your video! On the subject of 'public transport', where I live in Styria we are 3 market towns, but connected by an S-Bahn (electrified) over a distance of 10 kilometers! ;-) Many Greetings from Styria, Austria 🇦🇹, Christoph 😊🚃🤝
Is there any Towns that are close to Bristol? Currently living in Cwmbran and was considering Cardiff, but expensive to live in the city. I was thinking that I need to live somewhere nearby like Newport is to Cardiff, but I don’t like Newport 😂 So thought I’d explore Bristol and maybe move to a cheaper Town nearby so I can visit often.
I'm deciding between Bristol and York to live and to study for a year. You help me a lot with the general ideas.
I've been there once for a weekend and it was definitely my favorite British city so far :)

Loved your Dutch greetings at the end, and I secretly hope that you found us Dutchies and our little country not so terrible after all 👍🏻😂
‘a surprise planned for Chris’- so you’re still together 👌🎉You’re so nice together& so is your Dutch accent
