What's the best processor for the hm70 chipset because i have a compaq cq58 with a celeron b830 and when I upgraded to i5 3230m it shutsdown so whats the best for the hm70 chipset?
First of all you wanna upgrade to Ivy Bridge, second, you'll have to get a Pentium. I'm sorry I can't help you further as I have gotten a HM65 computer and that supports Intel Core i5 2450M
@@xproot3 I'm not sure what socket I got only it's G2 and it's hm70 but online is showing that only celeron and pentium processors work on the hm70 chipset and the 2030m is the best
If you have a i5-3230M then you probably have a FC-PGA12F socket, also known as rPGA988B or Socket G2, you could also have a PGA989 socket which is compatible
you can put an i7, it'll just also shut down every 30m. the "fix" I have right now is suspending every 28m, which tricks the CPU into thinking it has shut down as this is a low power mode. The real fix would be getting a programmer and properly removing the IMEI code that does this, without tripping IMEI in the process. There's a Portuguese video on RUclips about this.
@@xproot0 this was such a terrible move lol...I have this dope Lenovo with a pentium processor and I was hoping to give it some dope upgrades. the fix is kinda pointless but it works so I will put it in the back of my mind and see what happens with the i5 I just ordered. thanks for the info btw.
You could always get a second hand computer. I know it's not viable for everyone but I got an older HP for free with an HM65 so I'm hoping an I5 works fine
easy fix: use HxD to change your intel ME to stock version 7 and the machine should work without the bs restriction
