    These vids do not age cuz they are the fundamentals. Love your suggestion of practice and break it up into sections to learn.
    Plus, you focus on the time component of coming in to Mother which not many focus on or ignore. Thanks for your efforts to teach and illustrate how to practice this.

      By no means, am I or anybody in The Air Warfare Group and expert, but we do have a little bit of experience in breaking down training and applying fundamentals with references and it's actually enjoyable to share these so I really appreciate your feedback! ❤️ pinned

    To remove IFLOS go to specials tab then Supercarrier and uncheck the IFLOS box...nice work by the way

    The ADI screen on a DDI will help you make the one or two minute coordinated turn. As you turn the Guage at the bottom will displace left or right to the box at the edge of the scale.

    I must be the only one that likes the ball next to the HUD. I can not see the ball on the carrier, no matter what resolution or anything until I'm just about crossing the round down. The IFLOS showing up really helps me.

      I just wish we could make it smaller. I’d place it just under the HUD.

    Informative as usual. If I recall correctly, there's a Fighter Pilot Podcast video in which Jello talks about worrying he'd miss his commencement time, and how he would make sure he didn't screw up his turn timing to avoid missing his assigned spot.

    Nice video. Only real issue I saw is that you didn’t trim up to get your Attack angle within the E bracket. You’re doing it manually, but trimming up is much easier to get on speed, one less thing to worry about.

      Good catch, yes I used to get ballooning issues with the flaps but now I’m dropping Flaps Half and Flaps Full in the break turn with the gear at 250kts. You should see me now baby! :-)

    I'm beginning with Cat III too, but I'm a cheater :-b
    When ATC gives you the radial to orbit, just add 180° and you have the radiale TO the carrier instead of FROM.
    So you can use auto pilot to capture the radiale: ALT + CPL + ATC.
    Once you approach the holding point you just disengage CPL, and you just have to roll for the holding pattern.
    Still I'm full manual when I go down from "commencing".

      Hey, it's not Cheating...we all have the freedom to fly DCS World the way we want! Taking shortcuts or omitting parts of a procedure are great ways to work on smaller portions of the approach to gain proficiency in pieces as trying to learn a big, drawn out process all at once can be challenging for most. Author Matthew Syed puts it best in his book, Black Box Thinking, and in his words, "identify how to improve many things by a small amount, where the accumulative improvement can be great."

    isn't it important E bracket ? you hardly ever use it.

    • @AIRWARFAREGROUP
      @AIRWARFAREGROUP  3 года назад +1

      Good question sir...the E-Bracket usage is often misunderstood in sim aviation. As with any instrument in the cockpit and symbol in the HUD, the information the data gives you tells you something about the current state of your flight. In this video, when you go to 18:02 on the timeline, you'll probably see the picture you expect in the E-Bracket/Velocity Vector Indicator (or flight path marker) relationship. This is what you would hope to see when on Glide-Slope and and pitched and powered for on-speed AoA. But when you are getting to the Glide-Slope or fall off of it, you have to adjust your power to regain that position and you won't see your E-Bracket matching the VVI. The information tells you if you are ascending or descending to get back where you need to be for the approach. You could get the symbols to match up while way, way far out from the carrier, but then you'd be on this long approach and usually stuck in someone else's airspace. Hope this helped clear up information about the E-Bracket! ~JUICE
