    Big thanks to my guy Isaac for playing guitar
    I got to play this amp back in January at the NAMM show. So glad it's finally here!
    Things I forgot to mention:
    The headphone is now a 1/4" jack, it was a 3.5mm jack on the original
    It doesn't support 4-ohm cabs, which is annoying but also makes sense 'cause that way you can get the full 20 watt output @ 8 ohms

    I would love to see a couple more of these little Joyo amps, and if you can show them paired with a 1X12 or 2X12, preferably affordable Harley Bentons, that would be great and would help me pick out some new gear.

    I recently picked up one, not sure if something is wrong with mine. I get a clean mixture into the Overdrive channel. Even more weird, if I turn down the GAIN, TONE and volume I still get a small amount of volume on the overdrive side, if you start turning up the volume just a little, you hear some clean and a tiny bit of overdrive.
    I also own the Zombie 1 and my overdrive channel does not sound like it has clean channel mixing in with it like this Zombie 2. A guy at Guitar Center said it sounded pretty normal to him, and that he has a Marshall that does the same. Just seems weird to me, wanted to know if you experienced this at all?

    • @ryansgearreviews
      @ryansgearreviews  3 года назад +3

      My overdrive doesn't have cleans mixed in. I would try and get it replaced with a different one.
      There is a tiny bit of sound that comes out when all the knobs are turned down, but it's way quieter than the strings of the guitar itself. Most amps I've played will have just a tiny bit of bleed with the volume all the way down, though. That's one of the nice things about having a standby switch I suppose.

    • @Mynightmare82
      @Mynightmare82 2 года назад +1

      @@ryansgearreviews I tried that, bought another one from Amazon a year later, same issue. I can notice it clear as day, soon as you turn up the volume just a tad bit on the Zombie 2 you hear clean behind the OD, it's as if you turned on two amps, had the one on Clean and other on Distortion and played them at once, that's exactly how it sounded on both, well on even my current unit, my Zombie 1 does not have this issue, I had to mod that one to get it working for multi channels, and I just use the foot switch from the Zombie 2 with it. Crazy that I must've got two that do the same, what are the odds? and in two different years, both models were different makes, I could see how they changed a few things around inside.
      I also noticed that volume all the way down and you can still hear clean in the OD haha, crazy! But that's what ya get for cheap stuff, Sounds great when it works right like the Zombie 1. I only use the Zombie 2 for the clean channel or slaving out into it as just a power head now with my Real Dual Rec.

      Yup same exact BS with XL. Has clean signal in there up until a certain volume point . Original does not at all.. also the XL loops are different, can’t slave out the XL like I could the original. Using the loop eliminates the volume as well as the tone and gain. I like the Joyo Bantamps but the XL is fucked up with some of its functions

    Hello. Can the BantAmp be used without connection to the speaker output and without connection to the headphone output at the same time, without harming the amplifier? Would the amplifier suffer some kind of damage at the moment or in the long run? I want to output the signal through the amplifier send to an audio interface to record the signal without cabinet emulation so that I can use my custom impulse responses, and at the same time I don't want to have headphones and/or speakers connected for a while, can this be done without damaging the amplifier? .Great video, great informationThank you

    • @ryansgearreviews
      @ryansgearreviews  Год назад +1

      This amp has a solid state power amp in it, so it is perfectly okay for you to run it without a cab connected. However for the recording purpose you just mentioned, I would probably connect the FX loop send to your interface, not the output of the power amp.

    Great demo! I have the original zombie, but haven't had a chance to play with it much. Was mainly looking to see if there were any new videos featuring it, for ideas/inspiration. I liked how you kept the gain and tone relatively controlled. I have a tendency to overdo it on both.

    Thanks for the review Ryan, I got my zombie II and HB 1x12 celestion vintage 30 speaker. Although I am ok with the tonal range for the most part I am thinking of adding some sort of a pedal in front of it for some more kick. When soloing in OD it sounds like the tone starts to fall apart and I need something to compensate for the lack of thickness. Any pedal to suggest? Sorry if I am not explaining myself correctly.

    Pretty cool how you demoed the amp, liked the idea of talking to test the volume. Do you think in wil work well for fuzz stoned tones?

    • @ryansgearreviews
      @ryansgearreviews  3 года назад +1

      Maybe; you could use the clean channel with some pedals to do that, but there are amps with much better clean tones to build a sound off of. The distortion channel is set up for a metal tone and I doubt you'd be able to get anything else out of it by adding fuzz without it becoming massively over-gained and feedbacky. The joyo jackman might work better cause it's lower gain, so you could start with a crunch tone and add distortion/fuzz petals to that
