Unless they revert the thinner headband I'm keeping mine too, if XM6's have it too I might just switch to bose. I've tried those thin headbands and they are just not comfortable, plus it can't fold!

Only if you need strong ANC. The sound quality needs work and the mics are not as good as XM5.

i own both and would agree that the xm5s are better comfort wise. However i just got a pair of airpod pro maxs (used credit card points) and they seem to be more comfortable for me tbh...

Tbh, the X5's are the most uncomfortable headphones I've ever owned. Way too much inner ear pressure, I will be returning these ASAP
Comfort is key. I don’t blame you for returning them. They fit me fine but sadly that isn’t the case for everyone.

The XM4's are a lot cheaper too, so is this minor difference with the XM5 worth it? Up to you.
Xm4’s have a fatal flaw in every unit. At some point the mics get messed up and itll start randomly screeching at beyond max volume and hurt your ear drums. Hence why ill go with bose ultras. My qc 35 are still going strong, sony barely over a year

Is it true that with XM4 and XM5, because the earcups are too shallow, your ears are touching the inner side of the earcups and thus they get hot after just 15 minutes or so?
Yes.
On the Xm5's my ear barely touches the inside of the cup, it's not really annoying but when I shift my head I notice. Overall the Xm5's are great.

Should I buy the xm5 or the xm4 model? They both cost the same here and I want an overall good headphone for music/studying/gaming/general use.
I also want something that is more durable, something that lasts longer. I also don't really travel much. But I do really like ANC/Transparency.

Xm4s look way nicer but my favorite headphones are the Skullcandy Crusher ANC they don’t seem to make this version maybe it was a special edition but I love them the bass is insane audio quality is not bad at all and I’m picky when it comes to good audio

The xm4 has a worse headband compared to the xm5. Its breaks easy.

The sound is great but the design sucks. They are easy to break.
Fair enough. Mine are still holding up well but I don't use mine daily. Maybe 2x-3x per week.
But doesn't the xm4 break more easily? Since it has moving parts (folding), and more parts in general, it breaks a lot more easily.

Huh, my xm4 is a tank bro, it fell many times from high heights, tossed it around quite a bit and i still can’t find any damage…
