Hi, i tried doing that on a i20 1.4D (u2) D4FC basically same engine it straight away went into limp mode. I never cleaned the egr, only remoged the intake and cleaned it once at 120 000km and end time at 190000km. I wouldnt mess with things that aint broke or having a issue.

Well, you convinced me to never buy a Hyundai! Most cars you remove the air intake and a couple of vacuum hoses.
