LOL it's 4 in the morning and here I am just sound designing in a little synth called Current and what do I find? A FUCKIN AWESOME VID. Thank you Lillian. First time checkin you're channel out and I gotta say, pretty damn good. You have the knowledge. BOWS and now I need to watch the rest of you're videos.
yep it's there - the envelopes tab is a little tab above the piano roll, and then you will see options to automate MIDI Ctrl -> Pitch Bend below the envelope view.
when generating rhythm, how does ableton know which samples are kicks, snares, hats, etc in order to generate a realistic midi sequence? sorry if I missed this. oh wait - youre doing it on a sample/note slot basis huh. so like, generate a sequence for hats, then select a diff sample like a kick, generate a sequence for that, and so on? in that case, it still seems like its somehow able to recognize what type of hit it is? otherwise i would think it would still be generating a random sounding sequence
For drums it's a really powerful thing, but looks like better to "generate" in old fashion way, when you stack chord + scale midi effects and pick random notes, imho at least But better than nothing obviously ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
i'm really disappointed these aren't midi mappable. I get they are destructive, but I would love to LFO these instead of constantly having to move them myself. Not my usual workflow.
hahah I feel that. but creativity inspires creativity. it's like going to a museum or watching a beautiful film - one creative spark can send you down another creative avenue. or you can think of it as like collaging... collaging is a wonderful art form even through you're you're combining pieces of art that are already made. in uniting and curating pieces that already stand on their own, that's being an artist as well.
Get on the waitlist for my next Ableton course, The Sound Playground:

I assume you're referring to 09:54?? 😅
What did the do with the clip envelope tab. I can’t draw in pitch automation anymore😢
yep it's there - the envelopes tab is a little tab above the piano roll, and then you will see options to automate MIDI Ctrl -> Pitch Bend below the envelope view.
This isn't out yet. You made me look. Fooled me even.
Thanks for the video! Do you plan on covering the Euclidean tool? I'm interested in seeing how that works.
yo!! if that's what the people want I'd be happy to do one on that. I'd love to know how it works too 😄

hey! they're random note sequences with no relation to actual drum sounds as far as i can tell :]
Ableton 12, we make the music for you.
we are the music
"we are the music makers" @@LillianFrances

I've upgraded, do I not have to buy scaler 2 now?
not sure what that is. enjoy the upgrade!
i'm really disappointed these aren't midi mappable. I get they are destructive, but I would love to LFO these instead of constantly having to move them myself. Not my usual workflow.
and they don't even have automation lanes :(
You get a like for the laughs.
haha thanks friend!
Yay now nobody can ever be a real piano player or Midi drummer
phew that was a close call
“Does the creativity for me” 🤦♂️
Isn’t that the whole point of being an “artist”?

Unbelievable! Let’s connect?
