I'm type o and didn't eat meat for 6 years. I lost tons of weight initially, to the point where people thought I had an eating disorder because I was so skinny and I had dark circles under my eyes. I also lost a lot of hair, it thinned out so badly and was dry and brittle, and I got weird dry patches on my skin and I felt tired all the time. I then switched back to eating meat and immediately felt better, more energy, more focused and my hair grew lush and shiny again! I simply cannot go back to a meatless diet. We need to consider the long term effects and everyone needs to do what is right for them, there is no one-size-fits-all solution.

I'm a type O and I used to have some minor issues with my health (skin, allergies and digestion) but I also felt sad about animals, so I decided to follow a strict vegetarian/lacto-ovo diet for about 3 years. That stupid idea was enough to destroy my entire system! I started having problems sleeping, my gluten intolerance increased exponencially, I started having a very serious IBS problem, my colon was destroyed and I felt anxious all the time. After visiting different doctors, hundreds of hours of research and lots of trial-error experiments I realized the worst decision I could ever made in my entire little life was taking meat out of my diet. Now all I eat is meat of every kind (cow, veal, lamb, chicken, pork, etc) and a lot of soup made from bones (cow, chicken feet, ox tail, etc) because the colagen from bones repairs your colon. Being a type O, I feel better than ever now I'm a carnivore! 👍👍👍

The real book "eating right for your blood type" has been around for a very long time. Me personally along with a few friends had used this book and saw amazing results. It truly does work. My problem with this video is that they chose to do studies on a vegan only diet. Pretty much everyone who goes vegan are guaranteed to lose weight no matter what. But for some people, going vegan isn't sustainable or suitable for them. Vagan diets can also be very dangerous for people who have nut allergies. I feel like more and more the media and pretty much everywhere is pushing plant base non stop.

Exactly, these guys think diets are for losing weight only, only that matters. To lose weight you only need to eat less calories than you need, that's it, but if you eat foods that your inmune system sees as a threat you will feel sick most of the time. It's not just about losing weight.

Eating the blood type diet works and whoever say it doesn't is crazy. I ate my blood type diet up until my 30s and I was super fit and ripped. My mother had me mostly on the peskatarian diet almost 90% blood type diet and I looked great. I stopped eating blood type in my late 30s and put on 80 lbs and got health problems. I went back to blood diet eating and lost alot of weight and put muscle back on and is looking so much better. My cravings of sugar went away and I feel wonderful. My blood work is excellent.

I’ve always felt we are all bio individual when it comes to many things, especially the food we put in our body. I’m type O negative. Most times I’d choose vegan not for health but for ethical reasons. I always felt “empty” when i eat meat i feel grounded and my sugar cravings go away. The only way to know is to try I would say try yourself. I still have guilt eating beautiful creatures but it’s when i feel healthiest. Plus I have vegan friends or won’t eat steak cus it’s “gross” but also upsets their stomach greatly. Meat has never hurt my stomach. Like I said, i feel more grounded and calm, eat less, and sugar becomes a distant memory. Glad to see this comment of yours

It’s thinly veiled vegan propaganda. You said you felt better when you added meat. Well, duh, vegetables do NOT HAVE healthy fats OR even the crucial B vitamins. Not only that, meat sources of CRUCIAL vitamins AND minerals are orders of magnitude more bio-available than ANY plant source. This doctor in the video is and absolute quack. Eg. The idiot apparently can’t recognize or doesn’t know that CHOLESTEROL is absolutely essential and that low cholesterol is HIGHLY CORRELATED WITH INCREASED RISK OF DISEASE, not less.

have you all noticed that when starting to read up on your blood type related suggested foods and ones to avoid...you realize that even without knowing any of this you were already more or less following the suggested diet naturally by liking or not liking certain things?... so in my humble opinion Blood type dieting is real... and it certainly isn't new .... the fact that "modern science " is finally catching up with it
    is great :)

    • @Galakyllz
      @Galakyllz Год назад

The people who prefer an all-meat diet would disagree with you since "modern science" is demonstrating that such a diet is worse than a vegan diet. Based on your comment, you just-so-happen to be eating a vegan diet already, correct? Therefore your perspective on all of this is coming from already having chosen correctly by sheer chance.
Imagine if you had to choose, from four overturned cups, which one had a prize under it. You choose the cup based on your blood type, leave it overturned, and I slowly reveal all of the other cups have nothing underneath (as an analogy for science catching up). When your chosen cup is the last cup and I overturn it to reveal the prize, it doesn't mean that my made up Blood Type Cup Choice system is real - it's just a coincidence.

Some time before that, already feeling not ok, I started eating based on "public health" reccomendations, you know, the "pyramid". Made me feel worse. The nutritionist went through a questionaire with me, asking me what I like and dislike.."Do you know your blood type?" "No idea." "I think you might be 0".
They sent my blood to hospital to find out whyt type, whether any diseases etc. Then they provided me with a long list of recommended, ok, forbidden foods... I am bloid type A+ and went vegan for 3 yrs in my early 50's to lose weight, to reduce inflammation in my body (mainly osteo arthritis), correct menopause induced gut issues including GERD. I did NOT lose any weight in fact put on a little extra weight. I did WFPB everything, did NOT eat fake meat or processed vegan food, made my own nut milks, soaked all my legumes etc to reduce lectins. Bought organic everything. It was VERY expensive, VERY time consuming but felt ok. 2yrs in i was feeling like i was lacking in nutrients, fatigued etc. I am very in tune with my body, was healthy metabolically with an already generally high genetic cholesterol/LDL levels. I am on no meds, and overall super healthy just could not lose weight (needed to lose 18kg in the end). Initially I felt well but just over 2 yrs in I felt fatigued and like I was lacking in something. My gut was leaky (partly diagnosed due to too much fiber) and my GERD returned even worse. I stuck it out for nearly another year, and I'm sure it damaged me more in the end. I introduced an egg or 2 a week for a month (was craving them) and then some salmon once a week. Then for the next 3 yrs played around with loose keto, ketovore etc and it helped all of my issues made worse by WFPB vegan. I have found a happy medium eating a red meat meal on the days I workout and salmon, chicken etc on non workout days. My biggest progress was coming off all sugars and bad seed oils and starting 16:8 IF 2yrs ago with 2MAD. I still struggled with weight loss (only dropped 6kg over yrs) but am only now just starting to see weight shift after finding Dr Mindy Pelz on YT a few months ago 👍 I have started weekly variation fasting and concentrate on the right amount of protein for a 58 yo post menopausal woman, lower carbs (mainly some vege/fruit), good fats and some fermented foods daily. Everday i have ACV b4 my main meal, take collagen peptides and drink bone both a few times a week which has all rid me of GERD and heal my gut. Eggs I have at least 2-4 a day and my cholesterol is slowly moving down. So vegan is wrong for me....blood type A.
I also had COVID mid 2022 and did not suffer with any respiratory issues (not vaccd either) but had myself on a COVID supplements protocol during the bulk of the pandemic, sunlight practices, cold dips and sauna. Which I still practice.
So this theory may be too generalised re blood types in the end? Were there other varying health factors in the study participants?🤔 should we go deeper and ask does A+ vs A- change things too?

I'm "O" blood type. Prior to eating for my type, I was taking prescriptions for a variety of different ailments. 15 months later, I've been getting excellent results on my checkups from eating Grass-fed red meat from the Amish and dark leafy vegetables. Stomach acid in blood type "O" is a real thing. I do take a doctor's advice into consideration, but what I know to be true... It's not in the best interest of their career for everyone to be in their healthiest condition ever. If we don't get sick, their lifestyle begins to take a turn. There are a variety of ways to lose weight. Weight loss doesn't always equal optimal health. Doctors seldom recommend nutritional regiments to cure/improve my ailments (even when I specifically ask). Their "go-to" rather are prescriptions to fix everything. They only recommend what foods aren't compatible with your meds. Prior to my dad's death...he was on 22 different prescriptions per day. None of his doctors recommended that he eliminate inferior pork from his diet when he was still healthy enough for it to matter. Pig ears, hog mogs, chitterlings etc. It says a lot, that eating for my type has eliminated my dependency on meds. Unless I end up on a surgery table, because my airplane fell from the sky, I'm going to continue consulting with my body for nutrition and diagnosing its long-term effects. Dr. Peter D' Adamo has far less to gain from book sales, than he would from office visits and prescriptions upwards of $800 per pill. I trust that🙂.

I just chose to stay away from those foods and stick to those that “acts” like a medicine for me. My food journal has helped me TREMENDOUSLY in learning more about what works and what doesn’t for me!!
My advice is do what works best for you because in this instance, it’s not a one size fits all kind of thing. We’re all different 😉

At 6:52. This study where they had everyone on the vegan diet and type O had great results….how long were they on this vegan plan? When I went vegan several years ago I did great! It felt amazing and I was maintaining my weight. But after many years things started to shift negatively in my health. I couldn’t digest beans, I think because of irreparable damage from undiagnosed celiac in my early life, so I couldn’t seem to get enough protein no matter how hard I tired. My hair started falling out, I have gained 35 pounds in the last three and a half years, my digestive issues have returned, and a number of other problems including anemia that is just debilitating me. My joints hurt and my skin is dull. I have been researching on what to do and it led me to blood type diet. I have followed Dr Bernard for a long time and have his books. But if this study is to sway me, I’d like to know how long it was? If just a few months or a year, that’s not long enough, is it? I have seen many videos and blogs from people who were vegan for years like me and have the same symptoms…they say their symptoms went away when they added some animal protein. I’m just looking for answers. It’s difficult because I have been committed to the health benefits for vegan…but where are they for me? They were short lived 😕 And I have learned to be committed to the ethical reasons and that’s going to be hard to let go of. 😢😢😢 But I am unwell and no longer thriving health wise.

Yes!!!!! I am O type and I been vegan for a year and a half. At first it was aaaammmmazzzzing but then recently here I started experiencing high blood pressure! I HARDLY EAT SALT! I just found out I am low on potassium. If I'm not mistaken meat has alot of potassium correct?my doctor prescribed me a diuretic to remove salt from my body to lower my blood pressure but I'm not taking that crap because 1. I hardly eat salt as it is and 2. That medication uses potassium (in which I'm already deficient in) to help lower blood pressure. I say this because I'm letting you know that you aren't crazy. O type needs meat.

@@kutieluvsmj7 Thank you for sharing that. I'm still trying to figure this all out. ..I went on the blood type diet two months ago and now my periods are terrible. I had cramps and breast tenderness for TWO WEEKS prior and I don't know...is it the eggs? Too much estrogen from animals? I'm about to start my third period and I have cut down on the eggs, so we will see. So far I haven't had the two weeks of symptoms. Vegan was the one thing that had set me straight for the first time in my life, but I'm not balanced in other areas. 😭 And I recently learned that the blood type diet book I read and all the cook books I bought were out of date according to new research Ugh! Did you know that? What a disappointment lol Apparently we are to follow an app and not the book. • @arupbiswas5591
    @arupbiswas5591 Год назад +12

My personal experience with my own body and from opinions of others with different blood types actually roughly agree with what Dr. Peter D'adamo had recommended years ago.
From among my contacts through some general questions and without having them knowing before-hand the purpose behind those questions, in almost all cases except for very rare exceptions, I found that my contacts with type O blood type loves to eat red meat, feels much better, livelier with red-meat based diet than vegan diet (not 100% meat but with substantial amount of it).
One particular contact with kind of chronic stomach problem told me he felt much healthier with red-meat based diet than without. However, that kind of diet is usually not normal in homes in our culture in India and it was not a regular feature in that persons diet too, which he obviously lamented having followed for 70 years, being already in later part of his life.
But, contrasting his experience of 70 years with mine of 50 years I could easily make out the differences.
My blood type is of type A and I usually feel much better, calmer, low on anxiety and stomach problems when I stay on fruits and vegetables with occassional red-meat.
I had tried complete vegan diet for some months but that did not work in long term.
So, that was baffling for me as it did not go along with Dr. Adamo's recommendation and neither with our traditional cultural diet of spicy vegan food and regular fish and dairy products.
After few months of strict vegan diet I found out that it was affecting my body and I could no longer keep away from the occassional meat whenever I came across.
However, it was also true that regular grains, cereals, vegetables, fish & dairy with occassional red-meat had made me feel uneasy in the stomach before I had tried the vegan diet.
I dont know the perfect answer but my idea and feeling is that the vegan diet is suitable for people with type A blood types but not for all types of type A blood type.
I think no one has looked into the aapect that a person with type A or type B blood can still have an O allele inside the blood.
Like in my case, I inherited the O allele from my father and the A allele from my mother. Therefore even though my blood type is of Type A , categorised according to blood transfusion behaviours I still have blood allele O inside me making me kind of AO sub-type among the type A blood grouping.
My guess is that I could not keep off red-meat completely due to the presence of the O allele in my blood.
Other related observations that aligns with Dr. Adamo's blood type diet idea are that most North Indians have milk based products and/or dairy products in their diet, and unlike most other places on earth they like to consume hot milk traditionally. It was a real surprise for me when I found out that most of North Indians have blood type B. Even in my household my mother being AB and my father being of blood type B (but with both B & O allele inside him) had a liking for milk based & dairy products, but that never suited me even with the full force of culture & tradition. Same goes for many Stan countries (Pakistan, Afghanistan etc.) and Bangladesh and probably the South East Asian countries too.
In contrast South India which has majority O blood type people have a strong non-hot-milk and non-dairy culinary culture and except for the South Indian Brahmins (who is believed to have had migrated from North India) most of the rest have strong meat based dietary culture.
More astonishingly the world can roughly be divided into broad contiguous regions by blood types with Americas being mostly O and A type, Europe being mostly A snd O, North Africa mostly O and A , sub-saharan Africa mostly O and B, South Asia & South East Asia & central Asia mostly B and O, East Asia mostly A & B (Japan) or O and B (China, Korea). And each of these broader regions have roughly similar culinary tradition.
I guess it goes far beyond culinary preferences, it can well be a human behaviour affecting feature that can be segregating the world into broad regions with small exceptions, though that could also be a result of the base culinary tradition.

However it was too hard Ie costly and time consuming, anti social etc and plain boring to remain on such an austere regime forever. I still do it, but in a modified form to make it bearable. But, if my health starts to feel lousey, I start doing this draconian diet more strictly, to get back on track. It does work. For me at least, maybe not other people, I can't say.

BUT, my inflammation did not improve (dramatically) until I got back to some meat protein. My gut healed more (not perfect, MUCH improved), and I can close my fists and have gained strength in hands/fingers etc.
BTW I have never sought to lose weight, in fact after all those calorie free veggies, I really NEED to consume these higher caloric density food types - basically meat.
I am going to try to keep my distance from dairy.

I’m A- and she was saying that taking two teaspoons of apple cider vinegar in water before eating foods like red meat help with digestion because apparently A blood types have much less stomach acid so the apple cider vinegar helps digesting foods like that…I don’t really know why vinegar is not recommended for A types, but maybe apple cider vinegar is the exception vs plain old vinegar? I know apple cider vinegar contains an enzyme that contains a lot of vitamins and minerals and probiotics that white vinegar doesn’t contain so I guess I’d just keep taking that and not white vinegar, but I’m not an accredited nutritionist or anything this is just based off of my own research and what my nutritionist told me…

That could be because I’m not eating “nutritionally complete” enough on a vegan diet but it just feels way too unsustainable and difficult. Plus I am naturally very thin with a high metabolism so my goal is not weight loss, simply health and wellness. Whenever I end up reintroducing grass fed beef or free range chicken I feel like I perk right back up. However dairy is something my body simply does not tolerate or digest well (just like the O type diet suggests)…so idk I really do think there’s some truth to this hypothesis. In industrialized nations (most of them), where people from different parts of the world and different blood types come to reside, people are eating their common foods (food from the country occupied). In the USA, we all eat pizza, hotdogs, hamburgers, sushi, potato chips, etc. There’s no way all blood types react the same way to eating those foods. Haha! Some study man. So just because their bad cholesterol went down and they lost weight that's all we need to look at and now we know for sure that they should be vegan. 🤡
I have all the blood types in my family my wife is AB, I am O, my two sons are A and my daughter is type B. We all eat according to our type and it has made a huge impact on our health for the better. I have tried the vegan diet before for about 2 months and I literally felt like I was dying. I distinctly remember the day that I decided to try and have some organic grass fed beef just to see if it would make a difference. It made me feel like a new man! I've never felt so good in my life! I'm curious what blood type you are sir? If you happen to be anything other than O that explains a lot. Just because you thrive on certain foods doesn't mean everyone will thrive on them. I can eat a grass fed beef and feel great and if my wife were to eat just a small amount of that same beef she would feel terrible with a rock hard belly and struggle to digest it for the next 12 hours.

A blood type diet shouldn’t be about the weight, it’s about the bloodstream. The way the food is reacting to your body mentally and physically, on every level. How was the change of sleep? How was the way they process their day from morning to night? Did they have more energy or less energy? How was there mood?
When we say blood diet different type of food reacts different to our bodies, to the way, the food is transferred into energy. A blood diet isn’t to lose weight it has a bigger meaning and affect. I’m pretty sure anyone who has done a blood diet understands it’s more about health.

This is an over-simplification of the blood type diet theory. READ THE BOOK!! Of course, a plant-based diet is good for everyone, but the philosophy is not about whether meat is good or bad, but rather what are the MOST BENEFICIAL foods for your blood type. There are certain fruits and veggies that can do more harm than good according to your blood type. Since I've been eating for my type O (mainly proteins and dark leafy greens), I have seen a dramatic improvement in my health and wellness. You're absolutely right! Eating meat is not inherently bad, but eating fatty meat is what raises the cholesterol. About killing creatures for food, there is nothing wrong w/that either. In fact, for some like deer, they MUST be hunted or we would be overrun w/them b/c they have no predators anymore. Venison is very lean though so it is great! Deer who grow up around the Midwest area tend to eat a lot of corn and soybeans from the farms so their meat is "sweeter" than say ones that grow up around Montana where it is fairly wild. As Dr Barnard said though, a vegan diet is very healthy MOST of the time, but it also takes a lot of planning to get a balanced protein. Grains only have partial proteins and legumes also only have partial proteins, but when combined, they make it complete. The reason I said most of the time though for a vegan diet is b/c if a person is VERY active like a professional athlete or a professional dancer, or somebody else who exerts a LOT of energy. Those types of people need a LOT of protein to stay balanced. For instance an Olympian athlete (or any professional athlete) or a Ballerina both work out at least 8 - 10 hrs a day. One lady ballerina said that she started skipping cycles b/c her hormones were suppressed. When she re-introduced (lean) meat based protein into her diet, she was good again. For somebody who is only moderately active though, a vegan diet is great! Balance is the key!

I lost weight yes, but also strength and vitality. I was more susceptible to injury and my hair started thinning around the hairline. I am Type O. Once I added meat back to my diet, those issues cleared up (not Spam by the way, but clean, UNPROCESSED meat). Still not fully convinced. I love dr Barnard but I still think there MIGHT be something to it. Just because they lost weight doesn't mean long term health. There are too many vegans who because of health go to carnivore etc. I have struggled for over 20 years with trying to ignore my A blood type lists (no potatoes tomatoes sweet potatoes eggplant bananas red pepper etc) but I do think there's something to it. My husband is type O and does not do well physically on only plant based but me type A does. And the people I know who are type O almost without exception seem to have better immune systems, live longer and eat terribly😑

Another question 😁 consuming too much dairy causes a stomach ache. Do you consider dairy necessary? I mean, do you eat it for health or fir taste?
I get that with bread. Too much I get a stomach ache. Meanwhile, even a little causes problems. Now I just stopped eating it, and feel so much better. It's totally unfair 😭 I LOVE bread, and cake. My husband can eat it, zero issues.

I am blood type 0 and I used to eat meat, fish, chicken, eggs and milk because I was told it was good for me. on my early 50th I became ill with Carpel Tunnel ( I was in a waiting list for an operation), I had fluid accumulated in one knee which gave me pain every day and I was one year from developing Diabetes. My cholesterol was high, my sugar was high and I was overweight. I went into a Plant base diet for my health and I become Vegan four years ago, I lost weight, no more fluid in my knee , my cholesterol and sugar are great and My Carpel tunnel problem disappeared so no operation. I am turning 62 this year and I am feeling with energy, happy and no pain.

I'm type O. I'm supposed to eat meat & veggies. No dairy. That's a sad existence because I don't really like a lot of meat & love dairy. Let's not even talk about all the other stuff I can't eat that are basically food staples. I feel extremely restricted and not at all happy. Food shouldn't be a cause of stress and that's what it's turning into.
I'm someone who tries to eat healthy meals and maintain portion control, but this diet feels a little bit too extreme and take away 99.9% of the stuff you actually enjoy eating.

So, while you think people don't need meat, my body says you are incorrect. Animal proteins are typically easier for the human body to digest, which is why our teeth are designed to be omnivoric not vegan.

We need to realize that people will always come up with creative ways to make money. If someone can sell books and videos and whatever else because "people want to hear good news about their bad habits", those people will create a great marketing strategy to sell their ideas. It doesn't matter if the idea is based in science or purely based on monetary gain. The science clearly shows eating processed foods (including meat, dairy, and other animal products) is harmful to health. Money and popularity make people greedy, which makes them spread a message that benefits themselves, not the general population. Keep up the great work PCRM!

Back in 2020 I contracted the delta virus I lost a massive amount of weight I only weighed 170 pounds thereabouts and I lost about 60 pounds I went into the hospital I had muscle weakness fatigue total lethargy and was examined at the hospital, where the doctor interviewed me after about two weeks in the hospital when I informed him that I was a vegetarian and that I practice fasting on a regular basis he regarded me for about a minute and then said “that’s probably what saved your life “. I am a type a blood, and consume raw food no meat every now and then I may experiment with fish and eggs, but I really find not much of a difference in my health I am still very thin now and I attribute that to the fact that I stopped consuming many carbohydrates for example are used to eat rice cakes because I thought it was better than bread but as it turns out rice cakes have a higher glycemic index in sugar and even the best rice cakes I won’t mention their names I don’t want to besmirch their ethos, However I would definitely advise/and or warn Folks to be careful when consuming things like rice cakes. At present I am kind of looking for a good carb for my type blood I’ve been thinking maybe sweet potatoes or squashes that sort of thing, if anybody has any suggestions about that I would appreciate it
