I'm really impressed by your insight or vision for production value. Your use of words gets concise to the point, then the craftiness does all the talking.
Thank you so much :-)
Brilliant - exactly what I was looking for and didn't know about the use of the splitter! Thank you very much. Saved me TONS of money!!!! Subscribed to help the channel.
Awesome video and well done! Didn't know about PoE and those adapters.
Thank you so much :-)
haha bro.. so funny at 17 seconds when you ran with the power cord.. good humor.. love it!!
Thanks, I'm glad you liked it 😀👍
Thank you i was looking for something like this. Question how do i set it up for my cameras and my wifi mesh together. Would i need to get abunch of these or get a poe hub?
Perfect. Had a PoE 4g Router on roof but had to switch to a non PoE router on roof and this should fix my situation, thanks!
Could you please give us wire diagram how to connect bnc jack to ethernet port,
Hi my friend I like you video,I have Cisco pow switch ,how I know which wire is dc coming from Poe switch, thank you
Love this. Thanks Ben!
Cool! :-) Thanks Frank!
Does the power then pass through any down stream switch in between the injection point and the end device? Thinking cameras.
This is really useful for slower devices (100Mb) such as cameras and TV boxes. However, it will limit you to 100Mb as these passive splitters take away 2 of the 4 pairs. All 4 pairs are needed for gigabit. You can do POE with gigabit using most active POE injectors/splitters with 802.3af or 802.3at, but it is a little more pricey.
First of all, thanks for the information, i had that question about the 4 pairs for Gigabit conn Long time ago, but the question is if i want to extend the range of my cable untill... For example 80 - 85 meters, could it work fine?
@@juanherrera2458 usually you have up to 100m. But in this case it seems that you meed a 'poe extender' in the imidle of the cable
I mean aren‘t most contracts 100 Mbps anyways? Yes, here we have 10 Gbps but many people still have 100 Mbps contracts because of price or availability.
I have 1 Gbps (more isn‘t available), but for 5G I only have 100 Mbps because 5G without speed throttling costs like 3 times as much.
Thanks for clarifying this, I was behind the bushes thinking how on earth this worked for Gigabit PoE, I didn't know about the 802.3af standard.
The long cable which connects Injecotr to Splitter is the common one or have "all 8 ethernet wires connected on both side of RJ45 Jack"??
I need put my router outside of my home and need to insertt sim on it and one router I will keep in my. Home for access point so can use poe injector at my access point power my outside router? (opposite of what do you didt in video?)
Is there voltage on the other side of the utp cable, or MUST I use the voltage cable, if the camera can only function via utp, or MUST I use both connectors?
how to fix not powering up access point poe? can i use an ordinary switch hub for this?
*it's really helpful video. Tnx a lot :)*
You're very welcome! I'm very happy that you found this video useful :-)
Can I use this with mesh wifi like deco m5?
I need to supply DC 9v and 0.25 amp from dc adapter and data from switch to wireless AP.can i use that POE spitter in that case?
can I use in long lan cable 45 m y
to transfer data and power using this splitter
I need 2.5 x 5.5 mm, there is available on the market? For tenda f3
thanks you Sir....its help a lot.
You're very welcome! Glad this was helpful!
Best explaination ❤️❤️
Thanks so much 😀👍❤️
How can I set it with 5V DC belonging to my access point :/
کارت درسته مهندس
can i used to 48v Router ?
Good video, was funny 0:17 XD
Thanks! I'm glad you liked it :-)
First of all, thanks for the information, i had that question about the 4 pairs for Gigabit conn Long time ago, but the question is if i want to extend the range of my cable untill... For example 80 - 85 meters, could it work fine?
Thanks, according to the manufacturer the length of cable could be up to 30 meters, so 80 meters unfortunately would not work.
@@Behfor I imagine you could use a 'poe extender' in the middle of the cable
If it‘s some small AP (there are those that can be hidden behind paintings or inside lamps) it will probably work with a proper AWG24 cable.
With a WG24 cable over 80m, you will have a voltage drop of about 25% at 200mA and 12V. This usually goes fine because the APs end up stepping down the voltage anyways.
I can't find a gigabit of this kind, it would be awesome if theres one so you can maximize your outdoor access point
Cool video
Thanks :-)
need a POE box for all my wifi cameras. ! POE NVR or any power box. !
Hi....I am trying to power an ASUS wifi access point with POE using a POE inverter and then an POE splitter. So similar to your video. How to I make sure the POE splitter outputs enough DC power to power up the ASUS router?
Hi, well I think as long as you use the right power adapter and don't use an Ethernet cable longer than what's recommended by the power splitter, you should be fine! I have powered on a wireless router this way but the Ethernet cable was only a couple of meters! So that will depend pretty much on the length of Ethernet cable and the power adapter!
@@Behfor Thanks! I am thinking "passive" POE is the way to go. I have about 20 meters give or take. With passive POE, my understanding is the POE dongles will pass the current/power from the routers DC power supply output to the DC cord output on the POE splitter. So I do not need to worry much about the voltage and amp spec since its passing through. As long as I can get he correct DC input/out connector physical specification, it should work. Having trouble getting the physical spec of the DC output cord from ASUS but I will try again.
درود. چه جالب. داشتم گوش میکردم با خودم گفتم این پسر صد درصد ایرانیه با این لحجه اش. تو بیو اینستاگرامتو دیدم دیگه شکم بر طرف شد.
Dorood, na man kahrejiam ;-)
How many meters RJ 45 cable length can easily provide poe by this method because 12v might be reduce the voltage if I increase the cable length. Thanks sir
Hi, according to the manufacturer, up to 30 meters. Thanks.
Depends on voltage, current and load. For the typical 12V/1A router with AWG26 wire, it‘s about 30m, but you can go as far as 100m with AWG24 wire and a load of 200mA at 12V, but at the PoE end you‘ll have a voltage of 10V (for most APs it‘s in the voltage range).
can it provide power supply from router to modem also???????
Yup I just tried it and it worked for me, just not sure how useful that can be! As long as the connectors match and the voltage and current is within the supported range of the PoE injector / splitter, it should work fine.
It would be useful to know the voltage drop over the cable length.
Kevin Solway, most routers also works with 9v-16v
What if I connect wifi router with poe injector and modem with poe splitter. Will it work? Kindly amswer.
possibly if you do it the right way around.
Greatest devlopment since they started selling rubbers at the Supermarket
I tried this. The router powered on but the ethernet would not stay connected. The cable tested fine with my cable tester with and without the poe splitters connected.
UPDATE: My modem and the wan port from my router were both gigabit which is why this didn't work. I ran one end into a 10/100 switch and it worked just fine. I missed the obvious answer.
Ok so it looks like you found your answer before I read your comment :-) yeah unfortunately this PoE cannot handle gigabit speed!
Is there any difference between poe and non poe splitter and injector
I imagine the injector adds power to the cat cable, and the splitter simply separates power from data, both already available in the cat cable. Already available in the cat cable because you injected at the other end the power. splitter goes on the consumer end (i.e. camera) injector goes on the provider end (i.e. router)
Very helpful, very well done, thanks. Two things to think about for v2: 1) ditch the distracting "music" and 2) include a chart/static drawing that shows the connections. Confess I got a little lost between the splitter and injector, modem and router. A picture's worth a thousand words, they say.
HAHAHA.... Those damn power outlets!!!
Exactly!! :-)
where have you been 3 months ago?
100% Persian accent 🤣🤣🌹
Hi Behfor, do you have any solution for this problem: how to reboot router remotely when it is hung?
Hi, if by hung you mean the router's web interface or CLI doesn't even load, then remotely accessing the router is not going to help.
The only other way that I can think of is to use a smart plug for the router and remotely turn the smart plug off and on, but this requires an internet connection, and if the router is down and there is no internet, then this would not work either. So I guess the answer is unfortunately I don't know how this could be done. Sorry!
@@Behfor thanks, I thought you know, I was thinking to ping my router from a local computer and if it does not response trigger an smart plug , would be very useful if there is on the market, I know Ubiquiti has one but I need to buy an Ubiquiti UniFi as well. thanks again
loss power ?
What do you mean?
Thumbs down because of music while speaking.
Thumbs up for letting me know that there are such a half empty glass people in the world!!!
But only 100mbps speed 🥲
I know 😔
