I see no difference when I use my Internet cable. It still sucks. When a do a speed test is shows 5mb/sec but when Im updating a game the speed is only like 200kb/sec ☺🔫
If the direct connection to the modem is still slow then the problem should be either the modem or on the ISP side. At least you know the issue is not on your local area network and can let your ISP know of that!

When i removed the wireless cable from my modem and plug it into my laptop, there was no connection. I need help.
Secondly, when i used the speedtest in front of the router and modem , download speed is 48Mbps (100Mbps package), but when i go downstairs - 8 meters away, the speed decreased to 6 Mbps, is that the router's problem? Thank you

what if my isp and modem is not the problem either just like in this video, yet when i hook up my PC to the ethernet port on the router, i get half the speed? this is a new modem and new router.
Bam you helped me out with my modem today. Was actually losing/dropping calls on WiFi. I switched to my 5G and pinging 221 mbps down again.
2.4 was down as low as 7.48d 12 up

Very nice video on how to logically troubleshoot your network issues. Unfortunately, some people only complaint and do nothing. Perhaps, it was too much for them to understand. lol

Hi my internet is 30mbps and when i download a game download speed goes to 4 mbps but after the file is complete 200mb download speed drop to 1.7 mbps and continues with this speed.Can you help me ho to download with 4mbps or more all the time.Please i need a answer

Very interesting, so applied your knowledge to my network specifically to test and am confused perhaps you have 1 tidbit of information extra?
1x samsung galaxy s7 edge connects at 866mbps with mu-mimo disabled on asus AC5300
1x ac5300 router with all wireless radios diabled. except 1 5ghz radio.
1x gigabit connection established over lan to laptop.
so essentially it is only 3 devices.
1 phone, 1 router and 1 laptop.
Using Iperf3 on the phone reveals a speed of 250mbps.
I have confirmed there is no other networks around with wifi analyser.
I have also enabled mu-mimo which forces the phone to connect at 433mbps.
when doing a Iperf3 still only gets 250mbps which seems more acceptable to 50% of 433mbps even a bit higher. but why is 866mbps still limited to roughly the same speed?
Have you experienced the asus rt 5300. I feel dissappointed by its wifi strengh considering how much i paid for it and how weak its range is compared to small cheaper routers

How I choose one right the channel of 11 channels?
I have some internet issues for 4 days now and nothing helps. Steam (downloading updates) and the games themselves are running on high pings or slow download rate. How can I fix this issue? Even changed the DNS Servers to 1.1.1.1 and 1.0.0.1
You should do step by step troubleshooting to pinpoint the issue! Is the problem your network or ISP? If it Is yours, is it only happening on Wi-Fi or wired as well! If it is Wi-Fi , which band, which channel, maybe there is interference on one channel.... I would also use QOS to prioritize gaming over other data (if the router has the option)

So, the only device which is having issues with wifi is my laptop. The phones have internet as always, no problems. There is a desktop PC with an ethernet cable, also working. My laptop didn't have such heavy issues with wifi the last 2 years tho. I always used wireless connection, so I actually don't understand why it is causing problems all of a sudden.
So, I don't think the actual problem is the router or the internet itself, more like the laptop has issues receiving it. I also checked the drivers and Windows keeps telling me they're fine. Now I have reset the network. Let's see if it helps...

When i run the speed test on my phone it says 100 mbps down and 10 mbps up, but when I download games on my ps4 its more like 1 mbps (not exaggerating) please help! Edit: I did the speed test on the ps4 and it said 1.5 mbps down, is there something wrong with my ps4??
How is the PS4 connected? Wireless or Wired? If it is wireless I would try wired and do the speed test again and if everything is OK then you know the issue is on the wireless network. As far as I remember the original PS4 only uses the 2.4 GHz band so then maybe the issue is on the 2.4 GHz band. New phones usually use 2.4 and 5 GHz bands.

Hi if my connection speed is 100 mbps and i have 10 people connected to router via wireless. Will the 100 mbps be distributed to 10 people like 10 mbps per person or will they all get 100mbps .
The short answer is that Wireless is a shared medium and It would be distributed between the wireless clients. However it is more complicated than that! It's not like everyone should get exactly 10 Mbps! For example depending on what wireless technology the router or the clients support it could be different!

Well unfortunately I cannot tell everything in just one video! The purpose of this video was to give an idea on how one can go about troubleshooting a slow Internet connection. Also the way you can change the channel is different for each Wireless Router since their setup page would be different. So you can easily google the name and model of your Wireless Router and add "how can I change the wireless channel" I'm sure you can find helpful information! Thanks!

when i connect my pc the modem it dosent recognize the diivice but i can connect to the wireless router it still 30 i should be getting 100
When you connect your computer directly to the modem, make sure you turn the modem off and on again, this will flush its mac address table and your computer should be able to connect to the internet. If you still get undesirable speed you should then contact your service provider! Thanks!

If the video doesn't start to play and keeps buffering and spinning, please change the video quality from "Auto" to anything else, it should hopefully start to play. It looks like there is a bug in this video!! I asked RUclips to fix it a couple of times but unfortunately it never got fixed! Sorry for any inconvenience! How ironic though that this very video should have this very problem :-)

Search to make sure your wireless router is dual band. If yes then you should login tot he router and set up the 5 GHz network.

That's not a good spreed! You need to do step by step troubleshooting to see where the problem is. The steps used in this video can be helpful

This is something that should be done in your wireless router! You should login to your router and make these changes. Each wireless router is different so you should check out the instructions for your wireless router. Keep in mind that not all wireless routers have 5 GHz and 2.4 GHz bands, the older ones only have 2.4 GHz, so again this would be something that you can find out if you check the specifications and instructions for your wireless router. Thanks!

Maybe the server that you are downloading the game from is not fast enough!
I had slow internet and connection problems - you know what it was - a bad phone line from wall to router - I had a long wire - had it for years just laid on floor - replaced it - now all is good - check your hardware people

A couple months ago I could easily get 100 or more mbps on my laptop and now I only get 10 and it’s really starting to just piss me off
I tried all your tricks and my internet never budged from 5Mbps down and 3Mbps up, only the ping changed slightly
If you connected directly to the modem (via Ethernet) and still the speed is lower than what you should get, then you should talk to your ISP!
So how do I change my WiFi channel?
You need to login to your wireless router and in the wireless settings change your channel if you need to! Each router is different so just google your router make and model along with "how to change the WiFi channel" !

It takes me 2 days to download a phone. Takes me hours to look at stuff on computer. It takes a while for photos to load on computer and android because it loads from the top down and very slowly (about 10 minutes to see the whole photo) and my computer has a lot of space. My phone doesn't though.

That is indeed slow! A photo taking 10 minutes to load? How big of a photo? That is not normal something must be wrong somewhere! What kind and speed of Internet do you have?

I live out in the country and I have the worst internet EVER and I cant seem to find any other company to come out to me. I pay $100 for 700 gbps a month and its 119 for unlimited but it dont matemter because it's slow as hell. I wish there was somewhere i could get good internet any ideas?

In this video the 2.4 GHz wireless network was the problem, mainly because of the interference in the environment. Switching to the 5 GHz network fixed the problem!

I did both first steps and my thing isn't showing what it's supposed to.
It's supposed to be atleast 1000Mbps up and 1000Mbps down
The first step when I did it I only got 3Mbps down and 1Mbps Up
The second step when I did it I only got 200Mbps down and 200Mbps up
I know the second step gives me good internet but it's not what it's supposed to be.
If anybody could help me with this problem It would be greatly appreciated.
Also, I'm on wired internet, so nobody in my house should affect me. I use a ethernet plug that can transfer 2000Mbps and ethernet cords that can do the same.
If you are directly connected to the modem and you are sure your cable, modem & computer can handle 1000 Mbps but you are still getting 200 Mbps then you should talk to your ISP.

@@Kinito If the computer has a 1Gbps network card it can handle that speed. If it is a WIN 10 machine search for "View you network properties" to check your link speed

Your wireless router should be dual-band to support that, basically this is something you would do on the wireless router (if it is dual-band of course)!

1. If you have 10000000mbps some sites download max speed is like 2mbps or 20mbps not more !! Keep in mind that !!
2. I had 40mbps (router 1 ) it should be 150mbps dl and 12mbps up
Now i changed the router1 with router 2 (even better max speed should be 1600mbps ) but now i get only 15 mbps instead of 150mbps .

VPN is the no1 speedkiller.
I use one of the better services (NordVPN) and still, as soon as it is active, I loose >50% of downspeed and my ping time is 5 times as long.
This especially sucks, if you run a fixed VPN on your Asus router, cause now every time you want your normal fast internet speed, you have to log into your router and click your way through to disable VPN....
