Hello Billy Badger, I have a question: While speaking German, which tense (Simple past tense or Perfekt tense) is better? Can we mix both while expressing something in a conversation or have to choose only one particular tense for that conversation? Please guide Thank you
Hallo! You can use the Perfekt for all verbs and then just the simple past for ‚sein‘, ‚haben‘ and the modal verbs. Mostly people don’t really use the simple past must when speaking / occasionally you’ll hear a bit more simple past in the north of Germany but on the whole it’s only really used when writing. We can use ‚los‘ in a number of ways. Often you will hear it in the context of ‚Was ist los?‘ which might mean ‚Whats the matter?‘ or perhaps ‚da war viel los‘ which could mean ‚ there was a lot going on‘. So the meaning will depend on context

Super!!! 👍🏼 Danke.
Many thanks for creating these videos.
I think, at 5:43 the english translation should have been "I wanted to bake bread, ...". And same at 5:52.
Thank you for this…. and of course you’re exactly right!! Past tense not the present😑.
Your German classes at University would be super to attend in person. But, Tasmania is a little far away. I watch your videos from Texas.
That is a long way! We actually have students from around the world. Some joined us from the UK and China in Semester 1!

Hi! Shouldn't the translations be "I wanted..." instead of "I want"?
