We do use 'habe gewollt' with 'not' though. You can say: 'Ich habe das nicht gewollt' to show regret. Like when someone got hurt because of your actions. So it translates to 'I didn't want that to happen'. In German, there is an exception to every rule ;)
Is "ich wollte das nicht" not an option?

Ganz deutchlich Ania! I would also add that Germans typically use the simple past in the expression "Es gab" rather than perfect "Es hat gegeben." Finally, someone has made a video on this topic that has puzzled me for years. Vielen, vielen dank!

"Danke" is an incomplete sentence coming from "Ich danke dir", therefore it is a verb. In "Vielen Dank" you have a noun "Dank" (gratitude) not a verb! Therefore NEVER: "Vielen danke".

No it's the same. Sich erinnern is just a bit more formal than sich merken.
"Sich etwas merken" rather translates to "keep something in mind". But in english, you can also express that by an imperative remember.

In above video you were showing a sheet where it was mentioned when to use Präteritum. On the left side of the sheet maybe there was a table also when to use Perfekt. Can you please share that sheet also?
I understood that we use Präteritum in the following circumstances:
1. In spoken German with following verbs:
a. Sein und Haben
b. ModalVerben
c. Few Other Verbs
2. In Formal writing like Newspapers and Novels
But I am bit confused because we use Perfekt also in spoken German with Sein und Haben. In Perfekt we use:
1. Sein -> When the verb shows change of position - e.g. kommen, gehen / Crossing a boundary - e.g. Sterben, einschlafen
2. Haben . When the verb shows some complete action - e.g gesehen
For all other cases Haben as hilfsverb
So now when do we use Perfekt? I think mostly we use Perfekt in spoken German?
