I literally just found out about this show yesterday (being the casual Goosebumps fan that I am) when I went on the Goosebumps Wiki to look up behind the scenes info on the 1995 series premiere episode and I'm interested to see how it goes. I'm mostly excited to see Justin Long and Isa Briones on the show. Isa was done dirty on Star Trek: Picard, and I'm excited to see her again. The episode titles make me think of what Hulu did with the 2020 Hardy Boys TV show. Two episode titles for season 1 were the titles of two books in the original Hardy Boys series, but neither episode was an adaptation of the book the episode was titled after. But, with how Goosebumps is, I think each episode is an adaptation of the books the episode is named after. I could be wrong on that though.
After doing some research, at least from what I’ve seen, Sony is actually the studio producing the show. Disney is just the distributer. It definitely gives me more faith in the show and hopefully they’ll pull off something great.
I honestly can't believe that not even one camp book will be adapted in the first season. Hopefully, if there will be another season, they will adapt Ghost Camp or Jellyjam, or any of the camp books. Don't know how they would do Camp Cold Lake well. -_-
I’m kinda late on this video but I’m a bit more excited for the show. I went from a 6/10 to a 7.5/10 from the episode titles. Here’s my thoughts: 1. The first five episode titles that grabbed me seem to set up the books - Say Cheese and Die, The Haunted Mask, The Cuckoo Clock of Doom, Go Eat Worms, and Night Of The Living Dummy. 2. The second five episodes are popular taglines or quotes. Reader Beware - slogan for the books. Give Yourself Goosebumps - title of a series. You Can’t Scare Me - was a book title but still a popular slogan. Night of the Living Dummy Part 2 - maybe this is just a continuation of the other dummy episode. Welcome to Horrorland - it’s the slogan to Horrorland. 3. They already hit strike one with me with the Haunted Mask being like that. I’m hoping the show says it’s a new mask entirely with different powers or something to make that pain easier. But already off to a bad start there. Strike One. 4. Looks like there will be some gore to the show which is a huge boost in confidence. Maybe if the plot or character writing isn’t that good, we can at least get a semi-violent show out of this. I'm going to guess that the mask will look the way it is now in the begining, but it will slowly evolve overtime. Kinda like how the venom symbiote starts off as black spiderman suit, but then eventually morphed into venom with a mouth and teeth.
Been watching your channel since 2020 during the beginning of the pandemic, and at the time was collecting all the episodes on DVD (in random order of course) but I just wanna say it’s amazing how 3 years ago we all were saying a goosebumps reboot woulda been a good fantasy come true, and now it’s here. So I’m happy just to have something to anticipate. If it sucks, oh well I’ll just keep rewatching the 95’ one 😂

My guess is it will be an anthology, but not in the way were thinking. I think the kids gather at that haunted house in ep. 1 and end up all leaving with a different haunted "item". One takes the mask, the camera, slappy, etc. Then we follow them individually thus making the "anthology" episodes.

I'm very worried about Night Of The Living Dummy, both parts. Are they gonna go by the actual book or do their own thing? Cause if they do the book, it makes sense to have a 2-part episode. Idk about you, but considering how layered the original book is with Mr. Wood & Slappy together, it makes sense to have 2 parts. And if they do go by the book, I'm worried they're gonna butcher the hell out of it. Cause Disney would never allow a huge puppet to choke a dog to death, or the whole steamroller bit at the end onscreen for kids. Dummy 1 is one of the scarier, violent-ass books, & I really doubt Disney would go that direction. You can't make a GOOD adaptation of one of the more darker stories without going the whole nine yards. Other than that, I'm fairly excited. Not by alot, but I'm trusting Disney for once on this series.

I'm still not convinced much sadly. Pretty pissed that they massacred my boy the Haunted Mask, how the hell could they get the mask wrong? The Goosebumps TV show got it perfectly right in the 90s before. Also I don't think this is going to be anthology, I wanted it to be, but given lately horror anthologies (Fear Street, Are You Afraid of the Dark) have been changed to more serialized storytelling as of late, it sort of annoys me honestly. I actually did like both of the Goosebumps movies enough, the first one was pretty great and the second one while flawed, was still good enough fun. Probably because the main characters were likeable enough in both. But this show's trailer just screamed boring cliche stuff for me mostly, I may just watch it to see how this show goes, but I'm already expecting this to not work for me, nothing about it scares me...well, maybe the quality being so bad scares me lol. Hopefully the mud monsters might show up though given they showed snow during the title promo, makes me think it's just a tagline rather than the book itself which means the mud monsters may not get adapted.

So I can see slappy gathering all the monsters from the previous episodes and teaming up with them in slappy part 2 like the Goosebumps movie

I was hoping monster blood to be adapted but maybe season 2 if there is one.and i also like the mud monsters.

Apparently, from what I’ve heard, Go Eat Worms is going to be very different. Based on rumors, it’s about gummy worms that clone people.
That would be a cool idea. I loved, in the teaser, when it showed someone’s broken fingers during the Go Eat Worms portion! Really great body horror!

Edit: I think the Mask will only look this way when the wearer, Isabella puts it on… only for it’s true form to be revealed when she peers into a mirror or her own reflection.
Thus, explaining the mirror in the Poster.😉👍💚
