Character respec exists in the game. Your companions can only be respecced from the level you picked them up, though (so if you pick up Jae at level 15, you can't change her choices up to that point, but if you've leveled her to 20, you can respec levels 16-20 if you like).
That's really handy to know - upvoted to try and get this closer to the top!
Shame you can't change the earlier choices to make later companions fit better into a party plan, but I guess you can rework the first few characters and build around the later additions.
@@WillisBorker I am certain there will be a mod for that. Both Owlcat's previous game had the same concept (respec option at base, main character can be respecced freely but companions only respecced from the level you got them) but people very quickly modded it to be able to respec companions freely too. And since the engine for RT is basically identical to their previous game, the mods should be similar too. I know that some Pathfinder mods were adapted to work for RT during the beta.
@@elbentzo that is some excellent info - thank you!
@@WillisBorker You're very welcome. Have a great day.
Its not really level you get them but they come at a base level. I gotten character at higher level but respec down to a lower base. But ya all the companions have a base set of skills you can't change but anything past that you can.
The excitement for this game that is conveyed through your voice is really infectious.
"I just wanted to play but it dumped lore on me" bruh did you ever play an ARPG?
I have already purchased the game and played the beta for a short while. I am wondering, as a person who usually only plays through games like this once and then sets it down for a year or so, would you suggest playing it upon release or waiting until the bugs are ironed out. I don't mind some jank here and there but I also don't want my limited play time and experience soured by being repeatedly frustrated by broken mechanics.
Let me know what you think. Cheers
I would (and will) wait personnaly. I regret rushing through baldur's gate 3 where I encountered many bugs (not game breaking but still) which kinda spoiled the experience (still enjoyed the game but much less than Pathfinder WOTR or divinity original sin 2 for which I waited long enough).
OwlCat games are notoriously known for buggy launches however it shouldn't be anything ground-breaking.
Now everyone's experience will vary but my beta experience was not as buggy as Pathfinder on release day. At most, it's just going to be a few mechanics not working as intended.
I would maybe say wait a bit for it to be a bit more stable if you're only going to play once. Hitting a point where frustrations build up too much can really take the momentum out and lessen the overall experience. I had a similar thing with BG3 - the game just broke in the third act and it just completely threw me out of everything.
Although, if you're super eager to play, I don't think the issues I had ruined the game per se. Nearly everything I encountered was fixed by reloading an earlier game save - but it does get annoying. The combat tooltips not showing up in some fights was something I found especially frustrating, and I'd say it's worth waiting for things like that to be fixed.
I have always enjoyed Owlcat's creations and have been looking forward to this game since I first heard about it. Some off the beta reviews and comments had me a touch concerned, tho' I intended to pick it up anyways, but now am about to do so without worries. Good vid
I brought the game back in aug and was debating between playing the beta or not and kinda glad I didn't. Got to play it with a lot of the stuff just fixed and working. Loved it so far!
Well, I for one will need the lore… Because, I know nothing about this universe.
Good luck 😅
Nice review 🙂 can't wait to try this game.
Should I play with a 1080p monitor?
Currently running 2k and 4k just wondering if a 1080p native would make the visuals smoother.
Ultimately you'll have to find a balance, do you want higher graphics on a lower resolution, or drop down a few graphics and play on a higher Res? There are a bunch of settings on every game that you can drop down and will give a performance boost without much or a quality drop.
I personally prefer to play on a higher resolution (even if that means dropped graphics or capping FPS), but everyone's different.
Very nice review ! Thank you a lot !
RT vs chaos gate?
They both do different things well. Chaos Gate I think is a tighter, more contained package, and fights feel a bit more flashy and choreographed. RT is a bit more sprawling. Things are more varied and combat feels a bit more reactionary. It has a much bigger focus on characters and story being an RPG.
Though they both have turn based combat, I don't think they really need to compete with each other as they offer very different overall experiences, and both show the WH40K world in a different light.
Ayo what is this Cassia slander
awesome review. no offense but why arent you doing more of these? there are too many stupid lets plays on this channel. focus on these videos and get rid of the other trash.
Another beyond mediocre broken boring mess from Owlcat
if you talk to the high factorum guy on your ship, you can respec. So they made that thing right
The fact you cant romance argenta is a massive L
Yes as SoB are not celibate, but I am sure there are already modders on it lol...
the trans female space marine with white wig is just a strange choice
Trying to figure out if this is a poor attempt at a joke, or if you know nothing about the setting, and are making stupidly inacurate remarks
A battle sister is about to rain down some wrath on this heresy.
@@jfec597 they did pick the absolute worst chapter for the actual sm tho. fucking space furries
U know nothing
@@EMO1tachi okay cool. magnus did nothing wrong.
BG3 vs RT when
I'm a huge fan of BG3 but this game just looks low budget and boring af in comparison. Like moving from a 10/10 game to a 7/10.
what an idiotic comment. jesus.
they nsed to finish BG3 first bfr releasing another buggy mess
Owlcat didn’t make BG3
Larian makes bg3.
I think this guy is confused
@@key.mp4694 yes they did , if not owlcat then who did bg3
@@lufasumafalu5069 bro larien made bg3 not owlcat..
Cassia slander will not be tolerated. But this game is scratching that BG3 itch for me after playing it for over 400 hours. Can’t wait to keep playing this game.
