In this video, I take a deep-dive look into the newly-released Channel 4 2023 brand identity. I analyze the new presentation film to showcase HIDDEN Channel 4 easter-eggs and hidden messages that you may have not spotted! I may be overthinking some of these points, but overall, I do believe in some of them. The triangle was drawn on there for a reason!

I think you missed some:
There was a scene in which the guy speaking over said "Cup of sugar, teaspoon of spice." I think that was a Powerpuff girls reference?
1:35 at the seaside seen, a date was seen on a camera saying:
Nov 2 1982 which was the date when channel 4 was launched
3:47 at the house seen, the driveway and the house looks like the one from Friday Night Dinner
3:55 the playground and the school looks like the one from The Inbetweeners
This is what makes an ident good. Genuine love and passion was put into this.
it's so nice to just see such CARE being put into branding. i hope other channels follow suit soon and start to put even more hidden messages n secret easter-eggs soon!

0:49 That footage on the TV is a music video from ‘Amaro and Walden’ animated by ‘TheLine’. The production company has worked on GorillaZ music videos before and may have made this ident. Back in the 2000’s Channel4 produced a documentary on Gorillaz featuring Krishna Guru Murthy as presenter. Channel4 also had a habit of showing premiers of GorillaZ music videos in the 2000’s too. Not sure if this is a nod to that era of animation since that music video is very similar to GorillaZ using real footage and 2D animation over top.
That shop cctv screen is showing the 2022 Channel 4 ident.
This is a unique and detailed video these idents are so cool and not something done on tv before its so amazing that they have crammed so much into idents that last 15 seconds
My favourite has to be the shop and maybe the perspective ident as well
Glad you like it as much as me! Honestly, it's crazy on how many small bits and pieces they've included, not to mention that I really love watching the forklifts move, and form the 4 for juuust a second... then move on. It is exactly like a 2004 ident!

The real question is, does Mr QLMB like the new idents? Branding is shit tho :(
OHHHH what a question! Agreed on the presentation being bad (because the boxes are hurting my eyes) but the idents are nice! They aren't the best, but it's better then the giants, but not as good as the 2015 look... and deffo not as good as the 2004 look!

3:42 you can see that there’s a man holding his hand outside a car window, this could possibly be a reference to “Bus W*****s” from the inbetweeners

this is why the new idents are far better than the 2015 ones.
I’m not sure about the Desmond’s reference. The location in Glasgow is a bar called Oswald’s, but I can’t quite make out the lettering clearly in the ident, so they may have altered it. Very easy to change it, I suppose!
funny you say this, was just watching the "Behind The Scenes" video and saw that ... it doesn't exactly say desmonds 😂
