We’ll let the video speak for our progress over the last few months, but we want to offer a huge Thank You to all you good folks who have contributed to and followed the Build 11 Project in 2022.
As of Dec. 9th, the $70,000 goal for 2022 was met and exceeded. The 2022 total currently stands at $82,771. We’ll have a final accounting for you next month, when we’ll also introduce the 2023 fund raiser.
In the meantime, we wish all of you the Joys of the Season, and Hope in the New Year!

Great update!! Thankfully we live close to Edaville (20 min) to get our narrow gauge fill. That being said, can’t wait to get back up to you guys and check everything out. Thanks again. -RTT

Been watching your progress from the beginning and I can say I am amazed on how everyone in your group have done such a great job on making #11 a reality.

So what exactly compelled the choice of calling the locomotive a new build as #11 instead of a replica of the original #7? Just curious.

The WW&F in the preservation era has continued the tradition of numbering steam locomotives sequentially as was established by the common-carrier WW&F/W&Q. First was locomotive 10, and next will be 11. No. 11 is a reconstruction, not a replica. A true replica would not have any changes from the original. While 11 will be very similar to #7, it really is its own locomotive and deserves its own number in the ongoing history of the WW&F.

How much does it cost to build a loco like that.

We're budgeting $350,000 - but we do most of the labor using our own volunteers, which results in substantial savings.

We post updates on the 11th of every month on our Facebook and Instagram pages, along with the build11.org website. We don't have as much time to create videos every month, sorry.
