Man you can just feel Tony’s struggle to sing, and he’s still trying to push everything he could to sing Toy Heart :( I imagine it wasn’t long before he hung up singing. Thank you so much for posting this concert, I am enjoying every minute of it!
This was also after the flood in 1993 which led to the near destruction, and subsequent restoration of Tony’s D-28. The guy who did the restoration obviously did amazing work. But the guitar always sounded darker and “looser” to me than before. I would have absolutely loved to have had the chance to see him live just once.
I got to see him a few times. Every time I was blessed to speak to him. He was always nice and bragged on Wyatt. I sat between him and John Duffy one of the amazing times. Memories.
I got to see him around this same time. Tough to watch his vocal struggle. Last time I saw him was with mountain heart. Tough to watch his guitar playing decline as well.
Awesome video !! Thanks for sharing!

Yes, it was sad to see Tony’s voice slowly diminish..

Great stuff, Tim. What year was the Frontier Ranch flood?
