- This video I not only update you on many things going on around the property. But we build the artificial reef structure for my new shark pond, this pond is 5000 gallons and will soon have a bunch of baby sharks in it! In order to have these fish, you need to build structure, we replicated old lobster traps that we saw in the Florida Keys, made our own DIY version, and even went on to do some other things! We are just about ready for some sharks👀🦈🪸

PAUL in case you don't see my OG comment. Don't use pavers. It won't work trust me, I have 32 chickens. Hang your water and feeder from the underside of the chicken enclosure where you have them at around 4-6 inches off of the ground and it will keep your birds from kicking bedding into them. It will save time changing water, keep things clean and lower the risk of bacteria collecting in them from dirt and poopy! It can make them sick and die if left in the containers to long. If you see this, feel free to give a shout out to myself and my 9 year old son Xavier in the next video! He would flip! Lol. We don't miss a video EVER 🤙

I really hope you used stainless hardware on those traps. If not you will have rust issues and that will mess with the water quality

Yeah that’s what I was going to say. Metal rusting will cause havoc. I have a feeling they weren’t using stainless steel nails. Good luck.
Also, the fence boards on the traps look pressure treated, all home depots non cedar fence boards are treated

Paul, you should install small push broom heads on the legs of the goat tree house structure. So the goats can rub their body against them if they have an itch. Could do the same for all the pigs in their enclosure. Only needs long enough screws and broom heads.
Some fake buoys in the shark pond would be awesome. It would give it a bit of a Bruce from Nemo vibe

You need to check those lobster traps. I noticed a pro-wood label on them. All Pro-Wood fence pickets in my area are in fact pressure treated and I would assume will leach chemicals into the water.

Hey Paul the water thingy in the chicken coup in the farms here in Trinidad they have a hook so they hang them or put them on something so it's not directly on the floor and it helps keep dibre off the water troughs ..

Love the crab traps in the shark tank but only thing that worries me is the nails rusting and leaching metals into the water. Not sure what nails you used but that’s the only thing that would worry me for long term.

The fence panels have chemicals for use outdoors that will leach into the water and the metal staples will rust. Not a great plan.
They sell treated and untreated wood! Paul knows the difference and has talked about it many times in his videos 😊 now the staples and nails on the other hand, I’m just going to cross my fingers that Hector being the master builder he is, knew to use stainless steel 316 or aluminum
Untreated wood is a thing n hectors not dumb enough to use the wrong stuff in my opinion I think they’ll be fine… if not he has 1000 API products to fix it
@@jojocinco5the only untreated fence boards I've ever seen are cedar and those crates have a green tint and look treated
@@kristinlavon2588he mentioned them not being treated but those fence boards are all treated unless they are cedar, which those are not, they also are very green colored and look treated

Paul, Try hanging up the water and food bowls in the chicken coop. You'll find the bowls stay cleaner longer.

Screw an eye hook to the inside of the chicken coop and hang the feeder/water things from wires to keep them off the ground so the chooks dont get them dirty! 8:35

You do great things for all your animals EXCEPT the poor cats. You chased the cat out of the building the one day. You need to make some type of cat house on stilts for during rain or hurricanes that would protect them from flooding and having to hide under a car or something. They aren't just rat catchers (as you have called them), they are at least worthy of a solid safe place to hide out in bad weather. Have a heart!

8:33 Tie the watering stations to the roof of the cage. It will prevent the chickens/turkeys from getting stuff into the drinking area.
You should build a small stand a few inches off the ground for the water. Won't hét dirty as fast.😊

If you add a large block of foam/sponge to the return outlet to the skimmer it will act as a bubble trap and stop so many bubbles entering the water column. It may help until you get the skimmer dialled in.
Paul you should add live rock to the sides of the structure and pond to make it more realistic it would look badass

run carbon on the shark pond for a while because the wood releases tannic acid which lowers ph and create black water. Also boil them before adding to the tank and use hardwood that won’t leach as much

Love the structure. Should've used a hardwood with tighter grain so it lasts longer. Pine will rot faster

The bigger problem is its treated lumber not sure if it will hurt the fish?
For the birds feed and waterer put something under it so they can’t kick shavings into it. As they grow keep raising it then hang the feeder once full grown that’s what I do and it works amazing, Love your content Paul you truly are amazing
On the other side of things. Isn't there any groceries stores with spiny lobsters for sail to eat? Have a couple of Rescued Lobsters for the shark pond! Start them in that little pond to acclimate them, plus up close camera work.

hey paul! i would recommend getting hanging water and feeders for the chickens because i had chickens and they worked really well. they also won’t get dirty as fast! also love you keep up the good work!
Paul try putting the water and food up on a couple of square concrete walking pavers. That way they are out of the shavings and the food and water will stay cleaner. You could also hand your water and food. That is what we did. Definitely a game changer.
As always, Paul, you did a fantastic job, taking us around the entire farm, letting us see all of our babies, and even though I know you don’t like all the bubbles in the pond, nor do I, but the pun still shows itself in favor. If there’s anybody that doesn’t like that pond, I don’t know what they could possibly be looking for. I’m getting so excited about next week. Paul...suggestion about the area at 21:03 Kentia Palm (Howea forsteriana) x3 Cycas revoluta (Sago Palm)x3 and Neoregelia bromeliads...they will grow on the rocks....add plenty of larger rocks...
