@crummyy well, a fully normal person will buy a long-lasting mouse(like my logitech m220), not a gaming one, and use it for a year. though i'm eager to find mix of long-lasting, silent or semi-silent mice that is still good for gaming...

I have this mouse so, clarification : 400h is with "high efficiency mode" activated wich disable the RGB and reduce the polling rate.
Without this sort of "eco mode", the included AAA batteries lasted one week.
That's like 168 hours max... Pretty misleading from steelseries lol

It's an edited video, they will cut out dead space, and they will want the on-screen stuff to be the interesting parts; they don't have to be a continuous simultaneous stream to be the same person playing.

In steelseries engine you can automatically switch profile based on the application you are currently using. You could leave high efficiency mode always on on let the pc turn it off for you when you start a game
How do I do that?
I haven't been able to figure out how to switch between the high efficiency & a higher rate with the touch of 1 of the mouse buttons.
@@BoltRM never mind, it works like shit and reconnect is not always working after mode change. Also it won't save you much battery.

I recently got this mouse on sale for $40 and I know it's on Amazon right now for $45 and I gotta say it's the best mouse I've used. I don't usually spend too much on mice because I don't see it a worth it but I decided to give myself a budget of 50-70 and I ended choosing this and it's worked out really well so far. I have a little larger than average hands and it fits perfectly fine in them so people with little large hands should be fine. also, I've been using it for 2 weeks so far on 1000 polling rate and batteries haven't depleted yet (I'm on my pc an average of 6-8 hours a day for homework, classes, and gaming). id say I have easily put in 90+ hours so far into the mouse and batteries are totally fine. this is just my overall experience with the mouse. I don't know how others feel about it but I say it's worth a buy and if you don't like it then you can return it. btw sorry if my English is bad, I was born and raised in the united states but my parents are immigrants and English is my second language.

I've been using a wired rival 100 for years now and I've loved it. This mouse is finally the wireless version of it, with essentially the same dimensions and weight and feel. I preordered it the moment it was available. Can't wait to get mine :)

Less than two 100% playthroughs of The Witcher 3
Base game is estimated to be 200 hours for 100%, and the two DLCs are a further 80 hours IIRC
Any open-world game can take up an infinite amount of time, but if you're not wandering it only takes about 50 hours to beat all quests and side quests in the W3 base game.

I wish more high end wireless mouse come with standard AA or AAA option, not just for ease of maintenance but being able to switch out rechargeable AA for a new one is much more convenient than plug it in with a cable. It also give you a true wireless experience with absolutely no wire any where in your setup
Easily my favorite wireless gaming mouse of all-time. I've owned it for 6 months and I've never had any issues and it fits my hand perfectly.
How many batteries have you bought and what power settings do you use?
Keep in mind:
The 400 hours advertisement is in "High-Efficiency mode" which disables RGB and sets the polling rate to 125hz
If you didn't enable it, it will last for only a week or two so I recommend buying rechargeable batteries with it
I have an LG Wireless mouse that is 7 years old, used every day, and I've only changed the batteries twice.

Yeah.. I think I'm missing something here. I have a G305 and at resistance mode I use one battery each 3 months running 16 hours a day. This is the same 125 hz the Rival 3 offers but if my math is not wrong, it's 1440 hours of use... In contrast the Logitech doesn't offer Bluetooth and use one AA battery only. If you want to reduce the weight you can mod a AAA inside too.
@@gkato I had the option between the Rival 3 and the G305, and I chose the G305 because the Rival 3's shape looks awful to me and I already have enough mice with Bluetooth.
A heads up for anyone thinking about getting this mouse: It eats batteries for breakfast unless you use the high-efficiency mode which you won't because it is 125 hz only. With the duracell aaa batteries it comes with, it only lasted for 2 weeks and that is with both batteries, if you just use one to save weight it will be less, maybe less than even a week. So the 400 hours, all year battery is kind of a marketing crap, it is not that they hide the fact that it is only possible on high efficiency mode, but they do not show it too clearly either. If you don't get rechargable batteries it might quickly add up to the cost of this "value" mouse.

I’ve changed 4 sets of batteries over the past ~7-8 months of ownership. It goes through them extremely quickly when using the 2.4 mode instead of bluetooth and bluetooth is slow and jittery af on a 144hz monitor

I bought the wired version of this mouse a couple months ago for £30 GBP and it was worth it. Really good fit for my medium sized hands, weight is really good too and it feels like a really balanced mouse. Definitely recommend it.

FYI, batteries from different manufactures weight different. And weight is a decent indicator of battery quality/longevity.

Ok but, g305 is lighter, has an insanely good reputation, COLORS (jokingly), and has one of the largest modding communities for any mouse, not to mention you can last 250 hours with 1 AA. Also you can get a AAA to AA adapter making it way even lighter.

If you are a true gamer you know what acceleration and deceleration is and you never turn it off or ignore it, it means soooooo much for quick and slow mechanic hands.
Nice review. You touched on all of the points that make a great mouse, but there's one thing I can't stand....
When you bounced the mouse on the pad, I could hear the button rattle and that's a big no go for me. I want my buttons to stay solidly in place when I lift and move. An accidental click can be a game ender.

I bought one last year. The mouse in general is good but there are two big "BUTs" that you only can see after extended use.
First one is the batteries, unless you have two sets of recharging batteries the rate of waste is unaffordable, a total drain because you'll have to change them once or twice a week.
The second and worst drawback it has is its connectivity. Dunno why it happens when it has a wireless dongle receiver through usb, but the big issue is that when you turn on your pc you have to physically unplug and then plug back the dongle or otherwise the mouse will remain unresponsive forever no matter what. Imagine unpluging and pluging back the usb receiver everytime you turn on your PC, thats a pretty big bad deal. And it's not a matter of my pc or that my mice was broken (I tried different computers and also sustituted the mice for another in the shop 'cause I thought it was broken) and nope. It is an issue of the model. Sad story because the mouse is good and feels good.
I am just so happy to see a rainbow six fan on the show. This is why I enjoy David as a host.
16 days doesn't sound like much but I use wired so I have no clue how often you swap the batteries in a mouse. Should have had comparison claims from other manufacturers. In general this sponsoring felt like everything of slight concern fell under the table.
