I would pick this one hands down! The interior, exterior and fit and finish is like no other. Audi is dated and the Lexus is rough around the edges with polarizing styling. There is simply nothing like the feeling of slipping into the seats of a Mercedes, it makes you feel like you are in a vehicle that should cost you $20k more than it does. I live in Canada, and near the mountain here we can go from hot to cold with snow in a matter of hours. This vehicle has what it takes to do the job for most people here! Very good review as always!!
I bought a used 2011 GLK because I loved the aggressive looks, interior practicality but in the end the rattle free, high quality fit and finish and the superbly smooth ride won me over. Previously a new top end 2012 Kia Sportage. It was better than I expected but came with every bell and whistle and the clearest rear view camera. I drove a 2007 BMW X3 which handles amazing well, had more get up and go, but drove hard, Hard steering, hard suspension, hard plastic interior. Before that a Element box which was the polar opposite of the X#, soft suspension, no guts, loud, noisy and really ugly. It's only advantage was it could hold a washer and a dryer inside with the back seats removed. So looking back each SUV I drove was good at one thing only. The Kia (good gadgets included) and a fair price, the BMW X3 for handling, the Honda Element for hauling big and bulky stuff....but the MB GLK can haul a lot, it's ride is smooth and refines, it's quiet inside, it handles very well and it's 4Matic system is outstanding in snow and on solid ice where I'm from. It just does so much well. I look forward to driving the GLC in a few years, once the initial fixes come in and they offer a similar V6 that hopefully will be as silky my GLKs is. Location: Northern ski hills in Quebec.
I live in Russia. I had my test drive of the ne GLC 300 (249 hp-hp may differ in other countries). This car is an amazing example of urban-premium crossovers. GLC 300 4matic shocked me(in a good way). First of all this merc has beatifull interior design which combines retro style details with high tech so called Tron legacy high tech design. Secondly - car handling, dynamics, suspension systems leaves audis and bmws in the past. Ride comfort is outstanding-like you`re driving S-class(no really I`m not joking.GLC accelerates very confident. This car gives you the feeling of total control and confidence.
I love this SUV's looks. Fabulous interior and compact interior. By far the best looking SUV out there. I think the c class interior works better in this car than the C series.
We just purchased the introductory edition of the GLC 300. It is supposed to come with extras compared the the rest of the line of vehicles, plus there is only 300 of these made. it is amazing. So far we are still learning to play with all the stuff in it and more or less test driving it.
To answer your question about which between the new GLC, and the Q5, RX, and NX I'd choose, the answer is simple - GLC. Although my reasons are many, I'll surmise it like this: The three-pointed star on the GLC has lineage that VAG and Toyota simply lack. Not only that, I trust the engineering that has gone into the GLC more so than the flashier cousins of the RAV4, Highlander and the VW Tiguan. The difference between these cars is the same difference a buyer of a fine timepiece may find when looking at a Rolex. Sure, the fellow in his office that wears a Fossil watch can tell then time just as well as his Rolex can. But at the end of the day, he knows the engineering, know-how, history that went into the Rolex is something you just won't get in a Fossil or Casio watch.
I'd take the GLC over the Q5 or Any comparable Lexus and BMW. It just loo more classy and elegant compared to those cars, both exterior and interior wise. Though I would want to wait until a slightly more powerful engine.
+chromatics kent the macan looks good outside... but the outdated interior is too cluttered and I'm convinced that the only thing it's interior has going for is knowing that the exact interior is on the $100k+ porsches
+SahijApple93 100% agree! Benz's design, comfort, and drive are an all in one package. Other brands have other things going for them, but not all together. The macan is gorgeous, but really small, and about 30,000$ more expensive (therefor incomparable)... for that price, and GLE550, would kill it. This GLC kills the competing bmw, audi, lexus and acura. The x3 is the closest thing to this, but once you sit in a benz, comfort of a mercedes tops and comparable bmw...heck, bmw still uses those pathetice orange gauges...
+chromatics kent Macan is just a VW tiguan with leather. Thats why never buy the Audi's or Porches suvs they are just vw's with leather. When you take it apart you see many parts with VW logos. at least with benz you are buying a benz and thats it. NO parts bin GM type thing.
I just did a test drive yesterday and yes it's impressive for a 4 cylinder, we parked on a very steep hill and when I step on the gas hard it just get go quickly no problems, this because the engine’s has 273 lb-ft of torque and come out at just 1,300 rpm. The driver modes was very responsive in each mode, I can feel the difference reacted of the transmission in each mode. The style is good looking, no crazy aggressive here, but this is how it style will last longer. I currently drive the 2014 MDX so it make me feel a little small in the GLC but im sure i can get used to it. It's may be a little loud if you step on the gas aggressive but other than that it's fine over all.
Excellent review. I just purchased this vehicle. It's way better than either the X3 or the Q5. Lexus styling too aggressive for me. I have the 250D and I am based in South Africa
USA here. Seen plenty of these off-road SUVs at shopping malls. I would choose the GLC just because I have a soft spot for real-wheel drive. Not just that though, it's a great car compared to the segment; much lighter than the Audi 4WD, more exciting than a Lexus, and that elegant interior trumps over anything in those pseudo-sporty BMW X-series cars. If I was a millionaire I'd buy my mother one of these, no question.
Thanks for sharing your insights and an obvious wealth of knowledge with a splash of levity. It's nice when one knows how not to take themselves so seriously. i enjoyed the video drinking my black coffee.
I drove a Q5 and GLC back to back. After getting a Q3 rental car a few months earlier, I was excited to try the Q5. Unfortunately, the Q5 fit and finish really did not impress me. The Q3 was much better put together, much to my surprise. The GLC blew me away by comparison - I ordered one that day.
I was going to buy this vehicle for 50k fully loaded. Instead my wife purchased an over priced 2016 hse sport range rover. I personally like the GLC. The cockpit just has a classy more yuppie feel.
2016 GLA and GLE models have carplay not GLC. I read somwhere 2017 GLC's have carplay. Would like to know any software update (carplay) possible for 2016 GLC models..
I thought it was a great review. Some people dont understand high attention to detail and categorize intellectual information as "rambling on". You sold me on this vehicle choice. Returning my 2015 GLK 350 in December. P.S. I too wish it had a v shaped larger engine & any new updated feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!
Thanks for the review. To answer your question. It would be a toss up between the GLC and all of its new glory and the brand new yet to be sold Audi Q5. It all boils down to safety, quality and reliability for my family. Delivered in style of course. I live in Sunny San Diego, California.
I drove glc300 and rx350. both are great cars, but i chose rx350, bc it has way more room than glc300, rx made me feel that it has more pool than glc. the way rx made the places for cups is a perfection. rx is much smother and easy ride than glc. i would greatly recommend to try both before you finalize your purchase. rx is absolutely amazing. as some of the comments saying here, most of Mercedes Benz are look like each other, therefore i want someing that is different so I purchased RX350
Hey UK /europe here. We currently can only get a single 2.2l diesel engine - tuned differently -so what is referred to as a 220d or a 250d. Both return the same fuel consumption interestingly. Right at present i would go for the 220d over the 250d, and definitely over and above the Q5 - its a bit long in the tooth in the current guise though I think there is a new model arriving in 2016. BMW? Hmmm... new X1 or X3; I think this competes with the X3 more directly, though the new X1 is a VAST improvement on the old decidedly odd X1. Lexus / Schmexus... not a fan of Japanese cars, all a bit plasticy, even the upmarket Lexus's and Infinitis. It's a personal choice. RangeRover Evoque - well possibly, but would have to be with new Ingenium engines, as prev engine was rather unrefined; the 9 speed 'box also a bit confused at times. Mercedes seem to have the 9 speed auto box well sorted out. And interiors in the new crop of Mercedes are just the business. Have kinda got used to the floating info panel; the BMW has something similar and far less attractive (at least in the X1)
How do you not have more subscribers Motoman? I only discovered you a couple of weeks ago and am hooked!! I'm from the UK (where we know about cars lol) and I think you've become my face car guy after Chris Harris!! Brilliant! In answer your question, the Lexus would not feature at all! Would have GLC followed by a tie between X3 and Q5: the beemer for driving dynamics but the Q5 for looks and perceived quality - the GLC is the best of both 😃 Looking forward to the next video 👍🏾
Audi Q5, because of the handling, the full panorama roof, the B&O sound system and also because its quicker from 0 to 60 for the supercharged V6 petrol model at 5.9 seconds which is really cool. I would also maybe go for the Porsche Macan Turbo/GTS but thats too expensive for me :D
Great video with clear message delivered, Motorman! Should one wait for a more potent engine?! The Mecan should also be in the same category of competition.
mr moto. Nice work. The GLC has my interest as a replacement for my aging Subaru Outback. yes really. We use our OB as a truck, road trip machine, daily hauler etc. I know Mercedes thinks everyone wants 20inch bling wheels, but I'm thinking 17inch SUV tires, plug kit, a spare tire we bring on camping trips, and the fantastic Range / mileage of a blutech. Mtex seats which VW had in 1980 great material! No panaramic roof, awd, hitch, no air suspension. And you have my Subaru Outback replacement with larger load ratings, more refined interior in a very similar sized package.
I haven't seen much info on the AIR BODY CONTROL option for the GLC. I'm wondering, aside from the adjustability, if the ABC system allows the GLC to ride softer. Anyone know?
I've been waiting for this to come to the United States, thanks for the prompt review Motoman! What would you recommend Motoman, the GLC or the X3? I know you said the RX was a boring drive and I agree.
im in Montreal, Canada i would choose de GLC over a Q5. I have presently a ML350 Bluetec and my father have a GLK250 Bluetec. The look of this new GLC is amazing, the old 2.0T in the Audi is starting to be old, also it is in VW Golf...
I'd choose this. When it comes to crossovers the most important thing is the interior. They all sort of look the same and do the same things. But this seems like it would be the nicest to sit in for a commute to work.
I would choose the GLC. I am a recent Chicago transplant to Montana and need an SUV for driving in the mountains and on rough roads from time to time. I'm looking for comfort and utility in a midsize SUV. I really like what this car has to offer but will need to see and drive it for myself. Out of curiosity how is the head room and leg room in the car?
I have test drived this MB GLC and and all the conpititors too. I have myself BMW X3 xDrive 20d A. I must say that the drive with GLC is very comfortable compared to other SUV's of thus size. I valuation it very much as I'm from North-Europe and I drive small roads at the countryside a lot. E.g. Audi Q5 is much harder and BMW X3 quite much too.But on thing I don't like in GLC is it's luggage room. It's much smaller than in X3 and Q5 because it's so low when you want to see backwards and use the shelf. The design is very nice outside and inside, much better than in GLK was and compared to the competitors too.
I'm a long time Q5 owner in New York (the snowy part). I'll be shopping soon and will add the GLC to my list. My question for the reviewing public is interior space, which has more room? The videos seem to show a crowded front seating area in the GLC.
+mopsman Did your Audi have the oil burning issue? I'm looking into a Q5 but the motor issues have me concerned. If that's too much of a concern I'll probably spring for the diesel or SQ5.
Since this is a road test review, why not actually tell us how it drives, qualitatively? especially relative to other crossovers in the same segment. I.e. does it ride, steer, drive train lag/responsiveness, highway tracking.... When you say it is quiet, it really doesn't mean a thing unless it is quieter than its competitors. Much of the features or numbers you mentioned we can already find from manufacture specs...
I think the car accomplishes what it sets out to do. It isn't a driver enthusiast car like the Porsche but it is comfortable to drive and the 2.0L engine is adequately powered in my opinion. Not the leader of the segment but definitely not the laggard and a good choice for anyone in the market for a compact crossover!
from Chicago IL. I will choose GLC for sure. Apart from driving dynamics which are closer, I give more importance to interiors and comfort. I didn't like Q5 because it is clogged with zillion buttons and slightly uncomfortable seating (I am a big guy), no way Lexus coz its cheap inside for same dollars.
also no way BMW. you ask any workshop mechanic about which car makes more frequent visits, the first word will have only three letters. BMW may be a drivers car but very poor on reliability and consistency.
Hello, Choosing between the RX, NX, X3, Q5, Discovery Sport, and GLC would be a difficult decision. A test drive would be necessary before making the final decision. Given my previous ownership experience with MB, it would take some major faults to make me look elsewhere. However, if I did choose something else it would be the Discovery Sport. Oh yeah, my region is Colorado
@Motomantv, I'm considering buying a GLC or an Audi Q5. Hard to make a decision. I understand that GLC is brand new and Audi Q5 is already 7-8 years old now. And the technology and driving dynamics of GLC simply blow Q5 away. But Q5 is around 10% less expensive than the GLC, and it's not a bad car at all. Let me know which one you'd like to get.
+kakaguo111 the Audi is just a VW tiguan eco box with leather. terrible parts bin sharing low quality. Remember look at profit per vehicle index and AUDI is the most profit in the INDUSTRY! AND VW is the lowest!!! make sense? yep... cuz all audis are vw's. so in theory vw gives you the most bang for buck since its lowest profit in car world.
+Monkey D. Luffy Porsche also shares the same platform with VW. So base on your theory, Porsche is also a piece of junk LOL? Especially Cayene, it shares 80% of the production line with VW Toureage. Btw, you can check how many super luxury car brands VW owns. They ALL share parts.
The wife drives the RX350 F-Sport. This new GLC300 looks like the Mecan from the back. I'm curious what the cargo space is because that's important for us especially if we're carrying a double stroller around. I would like more power. Maybe an AMG version? I was also told there is a concept coupe' of this model. Kind of like the GLE450 Coupe'.
I live in Los Angeles and have a Lexus NX in the family. Currently debating what to buy. I definitely will get a German car, drove an Audi before and love the concept. For urban SUV driving the GLC seems favorable, as it is superior to the other German competitors in that segment at least in terms of driving assistance (Audi doe not even offer a heads up display). But on these weekends when you want to drive up to Utah and do some off road driving, I am wondering if any of these SUV's from Germany can really function appropriately. I have just discovered your channel, but thought I get your input and thoughts. These luxury SUV's almost seem to sophisticated to take onto dirt roads. Comments ? Suggestions?
Hello Motoman, which car would you recommend between Mercedes GLA 250 and Audi Q3? I'm essentially looking for a small luxury SUV and still not sure which one to choose.
+MightyRostam All depends on where you live, what you are looking to do with it and to a much lessor extent with these two - how long you want to keep it. That said, just from a driving dynamics standpoint - the Mercedes ALL DAY.
+MightyRostam both are terrible when it comes to space as even a civic has more cargo room. They are not true luxury cars but moto man has it right the benz all DAY in this case.
+watsash Unfortunately, the Macan interior is much smaller. Very good quality, but Porsche made the interior too small for even a sports-SUV. Dated infotainment system as well. Driving experience is excellent though and will surpass anything but maybe a GLC-AMG. In all honesty, I don't see the GLC as a direct competitor to the Macan anyway (especially after test-driving a Macan two weeks ago).
Peder Hansen if I were in the market for such segment of cars, I'd rather still choose that extra drop of joy, that Macan gives you, even though that's not the primary focus of these cars. For now I have no intention to buy anything similar.
Big problem: The Off-Road Engineering Package is not an option in the U.S., AND the Snow Mode (Slippery Mode) traction setting is ONLY available with that package on the GLC. (The GLE has a Slippery Mode even without the Off-Road package.) So essentially Mercedes thinks that families looking for a mid-sized 4-door SUV would want 2 different levels of Sport Mode as standard, but not even 1 Snow Mode as an option! That's the silliest thing that's ever happened to a 4 wheel drive SUV.
Hi, motoman What do you think of the design of the head of the car. A lot of people thinking it is not that beauty or aggressive as a SUV, even if add the sport package. Thank you.
+Kang Gao Thanks for reaching out - not certain what you are asking here when you refer to the 'design of the head of the car'. Do you mean the front or the greenhouse?
+Kang Gao Can't say that I have given it much thought mainly because Mercedes has sculpted this familial look on the front of their cars and this is an extension of it.
Hi Motoman, how quite did you find the GLC's cabin? i recently test drove both the 2016 Lexus RX 350 and the 2016 MB GLC. i found the Lexus interior more luxurious and quite; also the ride was more comfortable than MB. I would like to know if you think the same. thank you.
+Aria Hajiaghabozorgi Pretty well covered this in both episodes - this, the two Lexus First Drive Reviews and this short clip: ruclips.net/video/B_5nq3VuzTg/видео.html - However, I would say that they are very different executions of what luxury is today - at least in the 'near luxury' segment. The Mercedes is more flash of the two . . . I would say a bit more refined where the the Lexus has a very high quality interior with - and I can't believe I am saying this about a Lexus - a much more daring interior design. Net net - neither are bad (for bad, see the latest gen Jaguar interiors - XE and XF) just different.
+InsideSomething Two different tools for a different job. The SQ5 has more pulling power but it is not really a fair comparison. I am certain there will be a coming GLC450 AMG Sport that will be more relevant. That said, I do prefer the RWD bias of this over the Audi . . .
I was considering this over the Q5. Why Q5? I own and love my Audi A4. Just a typical mentality of a returning customer. Why GLC? I expect Mercedes to be right up there with Audi in terms of ride stability, comfort, and all-weather capability. And this thing looks gorgeous. Mechanical wise, both vehicles have a North-south engine config which means it is a rear biased AWD. Most SUVs are FWD based AWD which only activates the rear after a slip as occur. Well test drove such cars and I don't think these on/off nature of AWD inspire confidence.
Why is the vehicle being a GLC showing a C-Class on its screen at 4:29 while you select the driving mode? I hope this is like a pre-production bug or so. Haha ;) By the way this is the second time i watch this and i'm amazed of just how much information you put in this videos.
I am looking to buy either a hybrid lexus 450h or mercedes glc, live near Portland, OR . using it for just plain everyday driving, I dont want to have reliability problems, I want to enjoy driving my car for 10 yrs or 150,000 is that too much to hope for? without having outrageous repair bills. The GLC has been out now for 2 or 3 yrs now, is there conclusive evidence yet about reliablility? I also want AWD, I live in the foothills.
+kalapa Kilapari Good Question! Mercedes has been hush about Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Early on, my peeps at Apple (used to work there) told me Volvo, Ferrari and Mercedes were the 'launch' OEMs. As you know from this episode (ruclips.net/video/pz54LcvBL_4/видео.html), Ferrari was first to the party. Volvo has been vocal but we have yet to see a car with it. And Mercedes, nada . . . That said, we are shooting the new 2017 SL in two weeks and I will ask the folks there . . .
Chevy Trax and the Buick Encore have that and it's wireless. Mercedes doesn't even know what wireless is yet......good thing you're paying $40k plus for a car lacking in advanced technology.
If I weren't an Audi fanboy, I would pick this anyday over the Q5. Though, new Q5 is coming so we shall yet to see what Audi has prepared and I hope it is something really tasty!
Monkey D. Luffy the new A4 is actually quite pretty in my opinion. The Q7 and R8 were misfortunately designed, others are still O.K. I like the new TT, I find it very appealing, yet refined and classy.
I have a 2013 Q5 and starting to look for my next car. This is a contender but feel like it has the same problem as Q5, seems slightly underpowered. Granted, I have the 2.0 T and could get the 3.0T Q5 (which I am considering) but Mercedes needs to increase horsepower to contend. The next Q5 coming out will have more power and great looks - something to consider. Another thing to think about is BMW includes maintenance, both Audi and Mercedes do not. I also own a 2006 Mercedes SLK 350 and can say the cost to take it in for routine items and god forbid anything goes wrong like it often does = a $500 + bill every time.
Buick Envision 2.0T with torque vectoring AWD has a lease deal that is $3,000-5,000 less than the Germans or the Japanese. We'll be looking to pull ahead on our GMC Terrain.
I really like this car. My parents are looking for a CUV and I would absolutely tell them to buy this one...BUT NOT without ventilated seats. Same story for the C Class in the USA. I would not buy this car without that feature and I wouldn't recommend anyone else to. There's a spot for the button, and it's offered in other markets - so there's no excuse for it not to be on offer. Based on that (and Cadillac's amazing design, recently), I'd recommend instead that they look at the Cadillac CT5.
Hi MotoMan, I am super torn between this and the Audi Q5. I like them both but am leaning to the Mercedes because of the newer overall design of the car. But the Audi is more proven over time to be reliable. I do a ton of long distance driving and what a car that is going to be good on gas and have a good AWD system, I live in Minnesota so that is a must. Any input on this would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!!!!!!!!
I will choose this GLC between the two RX and Q5 , because it is much better car.. Specially in the way you drive it, it took the speed bumps very good way, I don't know how I saying that but it feels so good. I don't know why I remember the Lexus LS430 in the speed bumps test :)
I would choose the GLC 300 over the Lexus NX and the Audi Q5 because it is more capable, the interior is much more luxurious, and it looks better. I live in the US from the state of Illinois
Still waiting to get some use full information from ur videos. What's the mpg , how big is trunk space, how comfortable is the front seats for a long drive, is the back seat comfortable for taller passengers?? Nothing you say help me with my buying decision I'm cross shopping this with the new X5 I guess ill just got to look somewhere else for a better review
+Bruce Edwards true but I like going in there with all the information I can get because in my experience most of the time the salesperson don't know wat there are talking about.. I'm all for the X5 but my wife like this for some reason
Hi MotoMan, I'm a 40 yr old with no kids in Austin TX. I'm trying to decide between this car or waiting for the Infiniti Qx30. Thoughts? I'm using it for Real Estate so driving locally in the city a lot and I plan to keep it around 10 years.
+Mark Kendrick Hey Mark - Not really a fair comparison . . . the QX30 is a rebadged GLA. Between the two of those, I would do the GLA all day long. However, if you are going to be driving clients around, you would probably want the bigger CUV which is the GLC. Simply from a driving dynamics perspective, I would do the GLC because it is a RWD vehicle with an AWD option. And for some of the roads on the outskirts of your great town - or for those times you want to take your lady to wine country or even the Salt Lick - the GLC will be more rewarding. That said, keeping it 10 years, I would suggest you also look at the Lexus and the Cadillac. It couldn't hurt to look at Kia Sportage, Traverse, Enclave, Explorer or Hyundai because after 10 years, those may be the easiest to own from a reliability standpoint. Yes, not as exciting but I always like to factor real world reliability when ownership exceeds 5 years or the warranty.
I'm In real estate as well in New York and this car seems perfect hoping to get it in 2 months for the clients it's showing that your successfull infinity is known to be cheaper then Mercedes and come on Mercedes is nicer better etc
Have you seen this GLC with the brown interior? It's stunning. And compared to the current ancient Q5 and equally drab X3, this is the clear pack leader. Butttttttt if you want to get into the base engine F-Pace and Macan territory, the decision would be tough. Lexus, forget it.
The BMW X3 (own 2016 model) is still the better choice, but the difference is very close to the MB GLC. Audi Q5 is dated and with the scandals on the diesel emissions, could this apply to the gas version? Lexus offers few options and excitement. Acura RDX is the best value. BMW has excellent traction control, wonderful handling and most advanced options. Living in Canada these features are needed with our fluctuating winters.
I was all ready to buy the GLC, until I drove it and found out that it has run flat tires. I don't like the ride, noise, short life, and expense of run flat tires. I asked if I could order the GLC with conventional tires (as in Canada), and the answer was "no". So I ran out and bought a GLK. I now have a ML and a GLK and love them both. I'd love the GLC if it didn't have run flats.
I'm surprised that this channel doesn't have two million subscribers already. High-quality videos, I enjoy them very much. Thank you!
I would pick this one hands down! The interior, exterior and fit and finish is like no other. Audi is dated and the Lexus is rough around the edges with polarizing styling. I live in Canada, and near the mountain here we can go from hot to cold with snow in a matter of hours. This vehicle has what it takes to do the job for most people here! Very good review as always!!
One of the best car reviewers I have come across, in-depth, intelligent and thoughtful! Congratulations!!

I love this SUV's looks. Fabulous interior and compact interior. By far the best looking SUV out there. I think the c class interior works better in this car than the C series.
Love your videos MotoMan
The way you review cars is the best I've seen. Keep up the good work!
Purchased the GLC 300 2 weeks ago. Southeast region of the US. Love it!!

Although my reasons are many, I'll surmise it like this:
The three-pointed star on the GLC has lineage that VAG and Toyota simply lack. Not only that, I trust the engineering that has gone into the GLC more so than the flashier cousins of the RAV4, Highlander and the VW Tiguan.
The difference between these cars is the same difference a buyer of a fine timepiece may find when looking at a Rolex.
Yup but I still love the Porsche Macan but this looks more comfy
+SahijApple93 What do you think about the new design of Mercedes like in my C class :)
This guy is pretty damn good at doing car reviews. Love all his metaphors. Subscribed straight away.
Excellent review. I just purchased this vehicle. It's way better than either the X3 or the Q5. Lexus styling too aggressive for me. I have the 250D and I am based in South Africa
great review!!
by far for me this is the best looking and elegant 4x4 in the uk. I would have this hands down over any competition even a G63 it's perfect!
Possibly best looking compact SUV on the market. Maybe the less luxurious Kia Sportage can say something but this is just pleasing to look at.
The GLC blew me away by comparison - I ordered one that day.
quality analysis. keep up the good work.
I was going to buy this vehicle for 50k fully loaded. Instead my wife purchased an over priced 2016 hse sport range rover. I personally like the GLC. The cockpit just has a classy
more yuppie feel.
I choose the 3 pointed star because it has a 3 pointed star... perfection is Mercedes Benz GLC
As always a very good review not based on burnouts but on technical notes and reasons why and how. Thanks. Keep it CLAssy. I'm from southern EU.
2016 GLA and GLE models have carplay not GLC. I read somwhere 2017 GLC's have carplay. Would like to know any software update (carplay) possible for 2016 GLC models..
We already bought the GLC250d! It's such a great car!! Pretty expensive here (costs around 60000€) but we love it! Greetings from Austria!
I've made my choice and it's Audi SQ5, hopefully it will arrive in a couple of weeks
Awesome review!
Does anyone know the front-to-rear weight distribution of this vehicle?
Wrong clip segment @ 4:27 (C Class)?
Is there any way you could add navigation without the multimedia package?
How do you not have more subscribers Motoman? I only discovered you a couple of weeks ago and am hooked!! I'm from the UK (where we know about cars lol) and I think you've become my face car guy after Chris Harris!! Brilliant! In answer your question, the Lexus would not feature at all! Would have GLC followed by a tie between X3 and Q5: the beemer for driving dynamics but the Q5 for looks and perceived quality - the GLC is the best of both 😃
Looking forward to the next video 👍🏾
+John Sekhar Thanks for the kind words . . . Thanks you, we continue to grow . . . Some cool stuff coming up shortly . . .
+David Chen Good question . . . all depends on where you live and what you are doing with it.
mr moto.
Anyone know?
what are the rear seat like for passengers?? Can it seat 3 people comfortably or naw?!
english is a foreign language to me.....so i want to say....your vids i like the most.....
I've been waiting for this to come to the United States, thanks for the prompt review Motoman! What would you recommend Motoman, the GLC or the X3? I know you said the RX was a boring drive and I agree.
Mercedes>BMW, as someone who has driven both. My mom drives a GLC. It’s very nice.
im in Montreal, Canada
i would choose de GLC over a Q5. I have presently a ML350 Bluetec and my father have a GLK250 Bluetec. The look of this new GLC is amazing, the old 2.0T in the Audi is starting to be old, also it is in VW Golf...
I would choose GLC300 RWD for Southern California because of looks inside/out and quality.
I wouldn't compare this car with anything...it's the ultimate driving experience.
What are the prospects for a GLC 450 AMG Sport?
+John Frye-Osier What I am about to type and US$2.75 will get you on the NYC Subway, but with that said, I would say the chances are VERY good . . .
Djonkie Bonk
I've never added oil to either of my 2 Q5s.
mopsman Nice. That's reassuring because they drive nicely and it's the perfect size for my needs.
great video
the way you pronounce "new orleans" just shows your a true southerner haha great review btw!
The frame/cosmetic (outside) bodystyle is a competitor to the Volkswagen Tiguan. And the inside, just a step up from its earlier models
This is what I need not only for me, but when I have my family (Investing) AWD Midsize SUV New Jersey. Family Trips
I live in Canada and I would choose the Mercedes glc300 because it has the best interior
I chose GLC because this segment cars are pretty similar and mercedes brand is top notch in my opinion
from Chicago IL.
"Pansy drink you people drink" Ha! love it, I always look forward for your reviews.
What colour is this in that car?
Hello,
Choosing between the RX, NX, X3, Q5, Discovery Sport, and GLC would be a difficult decision.
Yes, I get the GLC. It's fantastic!
Great advice MotoMan. Thank you :-)
+MightyRostam both are terrible when it comes to space as even a civic has more cargo room. They are not true luxury cars but moto man has it right the benz all DAY in this case.
you have a cool job
Competes with Macan in looks, interior pretty much incomparable, engine meah...
+watsash Exactly my thoughts.
Macan here anyday, please. But this is cheaper, so (just because I'm not that picky) I'll be happy if someone gave me this as well.
+watsash This starts at 39k. The Macan starts at 52k They're incomparable.
Peder Hansen if I were in the market for such segment of cars, I'd rather still choose that extra drop of joy, that Macan gives you, even though that's not the primary focus of these cars. For now I have no intention to buy anything similar.
pls could u advise on where i could buy a used version of this car. looking for a good bargain
Hi, motoman
What do you think of the design of the head of the car. A lot of people thinking it is not that beauty or aggressive as a SUV, even if add the sport package. Thank you.
+Kang Gao Thanks for reaching out - not certain what you are asking here when you refer to the 'design of the head of the car'. Do you mean the front or the greenhouse?
Yes, I mean the front, under the big logo area.
+Kang Gao Can't say that I have given it much thought mainly because Mercedes has sculpted this familial look on the front of their cars and this is an extension of it.
ok, thank you very much.
Hi Motoman,
how quite did you find the GLC's cabin? i recently test drove both the 2016 Lexus RX 350 and the 2016 MB GLC. i found the Lexus interior more luxurious and quite; also the ride was more comfortable than MB.
How does this compare to the SQ5 that you reviewed earlier in terms of driving dynamics, fun to drive factor?
Nice photography. Btw, a Fiord is a body of water along the coast of Norway. You "ford" a river.
MotoMan.... waht about carplay? Do you think software update is possible for GLC 300?
Though, new Q5 is coming so we shall yet to see what Audi has prepared and I hope it is something really tasty!
if it is to judge by the new Q7, then the new Q5 will be a disaster looks-wise. Especially compared to this beauty.
+Rade Narancic Unfortunately, based on recent Audi trends, the new Q5 will basically be the existing Q5 with a facelifted front, rear and interior.
+Rade Narancic it'll be like the new Q7,basically a box.
+Rade Narancic the new A4 is terrible and cheap looking!!! I fear for the girly Q5!
I also own a 2006 Mercedes SLK 350 and can say the cost to take it in for routine items and god forbid anything goes wrong like it often does = a $500 + bill every time.
glc coupe in december?
Buick Envision 2.0T with torque vectoring AWD has a lease deal that is $3,000-5,000 less than the Germans or the Japanese. We'll be looking to pull ahead on our GMC Terrain.
Hopefully there is more rear legroom in this model than its predecessor the GLK.
+Alex Grasdalen Always comes back to these questions: What are you doing with the car and how long do you want to keep it?
MotoManTV I would add to it saying. 3 years. With 100k miles to 150k miles
nice video
I would choose the GLC without a doubt.
I live in Tokyo. I borrow RX from my family. I would choose X5 or GLC as they have the biggest and most usable trunk.
RX has very low utility levels.
The rear is gorgeous.
I will choose this GLC between the two RX and Q5 , because it is much better car.. Specially in the way you drive it, it took the speed bumps very good way, I don't know how I saying that but it feels so good. I don't know why I remember the Lexus LS430 in the speed bumps test :)
I enjoyed your review. I think this GLC is my next car!
I would prefer the GLC over 2016 Lexus RX 350, and 2015 Audi Q5.
Or stop by both dealerships... I would do the x5 but that's personal preference
+Bruce Edwards true but I like going in there with all the information I can get because in my experience most of the time the salesperson don't know wat there are talking about.. I'm all for the X5 but my wife like this for some reason
+Imran Con Wait, is the GLC about the same price as a X5?
The GLA sucks...So if the QX30 is like the GLA run from both...overpriced crap
I'm In real estate as well in New York and this car seems perfect hoping to get it in 2 months for the clients it's showing that your successfull infinity is known to be cheaper then Mercedes and come on Mercedes is nicer better etc
Have you seen this GLC with the brown interior? It's stunning. And compared to the current ancient Q5 and equally drab X3, this is the clear pack leader. Butttttttt if you want to get into the base engine F-Pace and Macan territory, the decision would be tough. Lexus, forget it.
"But I digress" the famous phrase. But I digress great video nonetheless
I'd love the GLC if it didn't have run flats.
you can put regular tire on that car
