    I know this video is a year an a half old but thanks so freaking much for this video lesson Marty. I've got a lot of negativity and bad events going on in my life right now but you're videos are the golden ray of sunshine that makes each day worth it. As a guitar enthusiast you're videos inspire the hell out of me to become a better player. thanks so much I will never stop watching your videos....I live in Australia and I know it would never happen in my lifetime but I'd give anything in this world to meet you in person... Shaking your hand would be a dream come true for me!

      I see that your message is one year old, but thank you for leaving a positive message out here on the inter webs. There’s a ton of negativity in the world that no one needs. Keep on jamming and rocking on good buddy. I’ve been watching Marty for years myself. Great instructor 🎸 and genuine.

    Useful tip for you all - when you see Marty play a lick you like, click on the video settings and set the video to 0.25 speed.
    It makes it sound a bit like he's had one too many strawberry daiquiri's , but I find it a lot easier to breakdown what he's playing and play along with him.
    Thanks for this vid Marty!

    How do the legendary guitarists like angus,slash, clapton, page and hendrix learn guitar? They didn't do lessons and if they did they only did a couple then left. How did they learn to play. How did they discover chords and certain techniques. I would like to know as i can't afford lessons😔 all i want out of life is to play blues and rock on my guitar but I'm very lost

    • @MartyMusic
      @MartyMusic  5 лет назад +2

      Slash took lessons as well as all the rest, maybe it was friends showing them stuff and then they were also naturally talented at it.

    • @tdtom1376
      @tdtom1376 5 лет назад +1

      a lot of legendary guitarists started out with low quality gear, but had access to music they could play and listen to, like a record or such. Then they would mimic the sound they heard. like shampoo... lather, rinse and repeat. Buddy Guy comes to mind as someone who wore out records working to get the notes right... learn with your ears. good luck on your journey

      METalGod66 well, I gave up guitar many times until 3 years ago. Then I found Marty’s old guitar channels & I haven’t looked back ever since. I learned my pentatonics, blue notes, extended scales etc. but once I learned the major scales, I started to learn modes, Dorian & mixolydian. Wish I had learned major scale & modes 1st. Anyway I’m not exactly where I wanna be yet but I can write phrases & solos. Learn rhythm before learning lead. Another thing I wish I would’ve done first

    Loving the courses you have on lead guitar at Martymusic.com. Finding myself almost not wanting to complete them because then there will be no more new fun stuff to learn. HA! Hope you make more modules especially geared toward more advanced players. I also thought It would be cool if you offered say a Led Zepplin area, Deadhead section etc... to the Library at your site for members. Would be neat to see what you would do with something like that. Like have the videos from here; there as well but with bonus features incentivizing membership. Thank you so much for helping me spread my guitarmanship wings so to speak. I've played for years but mostly only rythym. You teach in a way I can more easily follow than other tutorials which lead to me now doing well with lead guitar. It's inspiring and builds confidence. Okay, wife is saying it sounds like i have a man crush so i'll stop but thank you.
