  • I am so excited for you to meet Alex. He is a 38-year-old with Level 1 Cerebral Palsy (CP) on the Gross Motor Function Classification System. He can walk independently, walk up and down stairs without a rail, and run...if something scary was chasing him. He was initially diagnosed with quadriplegic cerebral palsy and later diagnosed with hemiplegic cerebral palsy. Alex is excited to share his journey as an individual with CP to be able to help others similar to him and parents who have a young child diagnosed with cerebral palsy. I loved spending every minute with Alex. I think you will too. This interview is broken up into 10-15 minute segments. Watch this playlist for future segments.

Dear Amy hope you are fine...Nathan and Alex both seems to be very wonderful people....I want to ask you a question Alex said that he sat at 18 months rolled over at 1 and stand with support at 3 year old on the other hand Nathan sat at 10 months old crawled at 1 year and at 17 months he started standing a taking few steps sooo my question is that if we sees Alex milestones it seems to be in level 2 gmfc of cp when he was a kid, where as if we see Nathan Young age he seems to be falling in gmfc level 1 when he was little then how come Alex progressed soo much and is now in level 1 of cp and now Nathan is in level 2 of gmfc cp where as he sat soo early like at 10 months and did crawled at 1 year which pretty much seems like hitting the milestones on time.....thank you

Great question. I do not know the answer. I did not see either of them that early. Every person progresses differently

Unfortunately it is unethical for me to provide treatment recommendations for a child who I have not personally evaluated. I hope you can find a local pediatric physical therapist who can help you.

@@pediatricPTexercises dear Amy I have few questions...my baby is 23 months old he's learning to stand with support, he can stand with support for like 20 seconds but then his legs starts to wiggle and he becomes wobbly and he falls, our therapist gave us a cp standing frame and told us to make him stand in the corner of wall ,first of all are these two things enough to make a baby learn to stand ?my baby have low tone muscle and the doctor thinks it might be cp ,my baby sat really late like at 17 months I think ,he started 4 point crawling when he was 21 or 22 month old I guess.....,he do a four point crawling but sometimes he falls his head on the floor while crawling ,is it common with low tone muscle?....secondly do you have any video where you teach babies with low tone muscle to learn to cruise ......my baby also wears smos as he is also flat footed I think that is what they call it......thank you dear Amy and bless you 💕.....
