    I have a major problem with the ICON harness I just ordered from you . The sewing/stitching is horrific . The Velcro on the neck/chest is the cheap hook and loop used on CRYE knockoffs that just shreds away with every adjustment. And the size measurement for my k9 said medium. It’s 2” too long even with the straps completely collapsed. I’m emailing photos tonight but I can’t say there’s going to be much that would make me happy at this point. For nearly $300 I would expect this thing to look flawless and be sewn together with the golden pubic hair of angels ... or at least double welt seams and/or double stitching . The string itself isn’t even close to milspec nylon sewing thread. It seems like basic Michaels thread . Nearly all of the running stitching has slack in it .
    I have a working dog that deserves something that can survive what I ask of her to do . But this thing looks like it’s an Amazon special made in China.
    This is coming off harsh. But with a reputation that your company Ray Allen has earned for gear made for working dogs . I cannot imagine this being allowed to leave the floor let alone leave the building.

    Hey I'm really sorry that happened but you know besides the Cobra buckles people just see the harness and you can't survive when people are having a hard time making their car payments, mortgages, etc. So they jump over to Amazon and get a $28 vest that looks like yours. And sadly enough I looked at your products and I really wondered. Wow okay. If I was the law enforcement officer I would have this but as a dog sport handler is this overkill? I think this is the calculus a lot of people are doing in their mind right now. Do I get a team canine for $49 or Ray Allen for whatever you're charging which is probably significantly more? You have to be able to demonstrate your clients why they should pay that much. And your products are very well made. But you know welcome to cheap imitations but most people just walk their dogs with them. They're not dogs sporting these or doing IPO or what have you? And I'm a malinois and Dutch shepherd owner so I know the importance of a great product. But when they all look the same people make that mistake. And if your lead times are long people have, I want it yesterday mentality so they buy some $28 vest from Amazon. I'm guilty of that. I've got one right here that's lasted 7 years. I don't use it. But I get what you're putting down. But maybe you ought to consider having a second tier product line that is aimed more at the average dog handler. But maybe that will cannibalize your top line vest. I just know Ray Allen is better than what's on the market. If it's got Cobra buckles I want it. But anything beyond that you got to prove why it's good and that carries over to the $1,000 crates. The name of the companies escaping me right now but it's like come on man $1,000 for a dog crate versus 179 you got to tell me why I should pay 800 more... If I would have known this was going down I would have bought one and done a RUclips video for you cuz I know your product is top gun. It's just people have to pay the mortgage before they get top tier quality product for walking their dogs cuz most people don't even know what a cobra buckle is

    I bought an Icon harness from Ray Allen and was super excited, but when I saw the quality I went “WtF” inside my head. I thought I got a weird lemon, so I ordered more and in different colors for fun. They all looked so cheaply and poorly made…I ended up going with a Nomad harness, but yeah. The ICONs are wtf

    Sorry about people having your pictures but you need to trademark that stuff come on guys. Don't think about the price of the product. Think about protecting the reputation and another thought I had is this is just like the new car market. The car dealers were making a killing. It's a feast for several years now. Here we are. One day before the end of the fiscal year for car dealers and they're literally dying, no one can afford them. So the question is and it's a valid one. How is your vest? Five times better and even if it is, you better protect your images and everything with copy right or trademark. I'm not a lawyer but you guys drop the ball there

    I totally get it. Been in your shoes. My husband did end up buying the black one thinking it was the same thing. But here are my 2 cents. You're correct the straps on the side slide thru too easily. With our 60lbs dog it's a mess. The whole harness slides then forward almost over his head and he ends up on the ground (we got it to support him at his senior age of 14; it's supposed to help giving him a lift up when his hind end gives out), so I keep saying this or any harness should have 2 loops attached that go around the back legs as well so that cannot happen. Do yours offer a back leg attachment? And a nicely cushioned one?

      Repel with your dog on a flimsy harness, watch the buckles or straps fail, and then watch your dog’s body burst open on impact 60 feet later. Then see who’s mad. Chinese knockoffs are garbage. Even if they were good, which they’re not, there’s something to be said for those who put in the time to develop a quality product. No, I don’t own a RA harness, yet. But I will be saving the pennies to buy a quality RA harness. I think my dog’s safety is worth the extra cash.

      I think you miss the whole point of how its made and the quality of components that goes into it. Thus why its priced at that amount. I'm tired of things made with inferior plastics that crack, turn color or literally fall apart. Or other similar issues. Not just plastics but every fucking thing. Yet we get charged top dollar for lesser quality. We need made in America. Not made in China. Other 3rd world countries are stepping up to manufacturing. Some of the things coming out are really pretty good. So. If you don't make things, don't know how... Please take the time to educate yourself. You'll be pleasantly surprised at what you may discover. I'd be pretty fucking pissed if I lost/injured a working dog or other animal to inferior product that broke. Due to poor quality. Until you educate and understand don't say its jealousy. This company is getting complaints due to customers being sold things that they thought that they made. So... Don't call things the way you did. Maybe you never bought products made in America. I'll happily pay top dollar for a product I expect to last 20+ years or my life time. Not pick it up to use after it sitting for 1year and it's falling apart!!
      There are lots of us that grew up with "Made in USA!!"
      BTW... Its not just these products, it's everything around us.. Everything...

      @slavshadow Год назад +4

      I don’t think that’s the whole reason I think it’s cause they tried to copy a RA product and did it poorly while marketing it as something that can compete with a RA product and if it’s “overpriced” then don’t buy a product that is made with higher quality materials like the video says it is made for a someone who wants a durable product or law enforcement and military

    I have to admit I fell for one. I take my dog hiking, and we go to places that he could get in trouble, so I need something I could hoist him out from. The cheaper knockoff I bought not, knowing your store, the first hike out he wanted to take off and pulled right out of the harness. The straps are crap and so were the buckles. The buckles would come undone just by him pulling. The straps would always come loose. It is so bad that I cut it up before tossing it out so no one would use it. I would not give it away for free. Yours has been bomb proof and served us well. So worth every cent. Thanks for a great product!

    Btw, I have one of the RAM ones and I must say, the best money I’ve spent on my dog.

      So hey to all of you with your awesome comments...
      These are the reasons why E-commerce was always going to be a problem. Its just like old mail order from Sears, JCPennys and all the old school businesses back in the day. But rarely back then do we get sent nasty inferior products. Because things were "MADE in USA" not unknown. That's also why when I shop, I prefer to go into a physical store and look, touch and feel products. To check the sewing done on it. (Ever wonder why your blue jeans are twisted or uncomfortable? Stitching.) The hardware used. Once I find something, I dig into the supply on the shelf for one that's not opened or handled and in good shape. I stick with tried and true brands even if their costs go up. Because I know they'll be in good shape used or not in 20-30 years. Yes, that long!! So, I expect all the things for my horses, cats & dogs to be in great working condition at all times. I wash my gear, hang it up to dry etc... Thus ensuring it's longevity. Buying online, isn't always the greatest. Check the return policies, and if you can buy more than one, especially if your not sure of the sizing. But, so you can pay s/h once. Return the one thats got flaws & not up to your specs. Return it. Keep the good one. Do it all the time. Grab a pile if your in a brick & mortar store, check them out. Throw the others back on hook or shelf. Even hardware used will have flaws in the metals. Not all are perfect. Some may not have been caught in QC inspections. If any.
      Best of my tricks to successfully navigating online shopping. We all get screwed by online shopping or the credit card companies. I've had issues with them too. Their policies have changed in the late 90's to now. Due to the Internet. So, just don't click, click, click... Take your time, unless it's the last one. Good luck! 🤔🙏🤞

You get what you pay for couldn’t be more applicable and Ray Allen products stand the test of time.
