- This is a two part video following the process I used to fabricate a replacement blade guide for my General bandsaw. It involves the simplest hand tools, brass and silver solder.

The hands of a man in his 60's
Except they are on a man in his 50's! A lot of milage.
why not just get a new band saw guide from carter band saw upgrades?
First thing I looked into. Simple answer is cost. When you factor in US/Can exchange rate, shipping, customs duties and taxes, the price just about doubles by the time it lands on my doorstep. I just couldn't justify the price tag at the time. Plus I grew up with a "First you try and fix it" blanket policy in the household which is why you would have found me yesterday hunched over a disassembled camera lens and cursing at microscopic screws. Got the autofocus fixed though. That only cost me $3 for a part shipped from China. But I digress. I think the Carter guides were going to run me close to $400 or $500 bucks.

Soooo are u going to mention what happens to your finger!!!!! That looks so painful!!!
simmssg broke the last bone in the fingertip when a piece of wood jammed onto my mitre saw blade. The wood flipped over and slammed my finger into the fence. Yep, it is painful. Still is two weeks later.
Ouch!!!! Well I hope it gets better.... I like the video!
