I will show you that in a new video, but a good channel to see that in is @jackmackwoodturning ruclips.net/video/Elgv151ZGWw/видео.htmlsi=kkt7BpxcaxnrAZbR That video shows the process well.
@@RedKiteWoodturning for close to 50 years - started with lathe that i put a washing machine motor on and did, I think, some credible work. 14 years ago i retired and used some gift money to but a small Jet lathe with belt changes. Done a lot of pens, gavels, small projects for gifts, etc. (I do a lot of other woodworking in a shop that I built). Now have ordered a Jet with speed control - yes! Now want to move up to bowls and such. Would be interested in learning more about bowls and the critical elements in success.
@@RedKiteWoodturning I have to admit, I was wondering about the dryness of the wood as well. I have done similar turnings and have had them crack over time. of course at the thickest parts of the base very discouraging. very nice piece if it holds up

Чудесная ваза! Восхищена исполнителем этого шедевра!
Wonderful piece of craftsmanship! ❤ How come the shavings so often come off like an endless string? Super sharp tools???

Thanks buddy
Looks amazing. How would you stop this from splitting as it dries? Also did you take the tenon off by hand? Thanks
It's beautiful, but I would have liked to see more bark left on it.
Very nice! What finish? How did you remove the tenon and finish the base? Help out a beginner!
I will show you that in a new video, but a good channel to see that in is @jackmackwoodturning

Oh, also the finish is pure tung oil. How long have you been turning and what would you like me to demonstrate?

Thanks Jamie
Then................... it dried out.
It’s dry in the finished shots. 2 weeks later. Did you think it would crack? Do your turnings crack?
