    I traveler for work for 2 years straight and my company would put us up in Best Westerns or Choice Hotels and I will tell you The Best Westerns Beat Choice every time! I requested my boss to only put me in Best Westerns but he had to go with whichever one was cheaper.
    On another note I just used my Hyatt free night stay at a Andaz Resort which was absolutely Amazing. It was in category 4 and I will attempt to always get max value by staying in a category 4 on the free night

    I completed the blue nose ceremony while visiting Trondheim Norway when I was a Marine going through cold weather training. Beautiful country.

    Hilton is my #1 so far!
    Stayed at the Hilton Charlotte Uptown for 1 night just last week and I was upgraded to a room that gave me access to the executive lounge.

    That dome looks sweet! Man, I wish I had that friends and family rate 😂 even without it, Hilton is still number 1 for me 👍🏼

      It’s weird using the friends and family rate sometimes because I have to pay cash but I want to use points and save money but I can’t haha

    Great to hear how IHG has worked out for you. Seems like the way to go when you use hotels on a regular basis. But nothing beats friends and family!

      We love using our IHG points, especially for the 4th night free. Friends and family discount is hard to beat when there's availability

    I'm Marriott Titanium, Hilton Gold and IHG Diamond this year all on retirement travel - domestic and international - Marriott is way better, way more suite upgrades, lounge access and points - Hilton and IHG are tied for a distant 2nd. Don't use Hyatt, Best Western or Choice right now.
    Just got the Wyndham business credit card that you should consider.

      Thanks so much for the information! Eventually I'll have to start looking into Marriott. Do you use Marriott for budget stays or do you stay at nicer properties in your retirement travel?

    I was with you for Best Western. I was with you for Choice. I was with you for Marriott. I was with you for IHG. I thought we were going to make a clean sweep of all six and then you chose Hyatt for your second favorite and Hilton for your first favorite rather than the reverse that I would have chosen. We were so close! I can't blame you for the Friends and Family discount. Would you still have chosen Hilton as #1 if you had no access to the discount?

    • @JacobsPointsAndProfit
      @JacobsPointsAndProfit  Месяц назад +1

      So close! I would probably have Hyatt and Hilton flipped if I didn't have the discount. I would still like the Hilton experience more, but because of how easy it is to use Chase points for Hyatt it would be my favorite points redemption

      @@JacobsPointsAndProfit That makes sense. I can't blame you for it and I would do the same if I had that opportunity. So, we can call it 6/6!

      Hyatts are not found everywhere and you need to lean heavy Chase to get redemptions. Hyatt card only gives you 5 elite nights towards globalist 60 nights. I actually agree Hilton 34x is great with aspire for cash stays. Points are cheap to buy and get 5th night free. Don’t let the Hyatt bullies “flip” you. I get upgraded all the time with diamond. Unless you have Globalist, you a nobody with Hyatt.

    People sleep on Best Western, pun not intended. Can get some good stays there. Good value for the money.
    Enjoyed the breakdown.

      Agreed! Best Western is nice sometimes for cheap stays when paying points at other places doesn't make sense

    If I had the opportunity to stay at Hiltons for 17 nights I would do it! (as long as it wasn’t super expensive)

      I planned everything out perfectly for all friends and family rates in Eastern Europe so it won’t be too expensive (and it’ll generate a lot of videos for my other channel). But now we might want to go to the beach in Mexico or the Caribbean lol

    why not just get the hilton aspire card for diamond status?

    • @JacobsPointsAndProfit
      @JacobsPointsAndProfit  Месяц назад +1

      That's a great idea and I could easily do that, but there's a couple reasons why I haven't applied yet. There's Chase 5/24, Hilton cards may add family language and I might be locked out of their lower tier card bonuses, and I'm not convinced the Hilton resort credits will be amazing for my style of travel
