    INGREDIENTS: (Eyeballing amount)
    1/2-1 Onion
    1 Garlic clove
    1 cup Rice (preferably Mahatma long rice)
    1 tomato
    Cilantro
    1 Jalapeno
    1 cube chicken bouillon
    1 teaspoon garlic powder
    DIRECTIONS:
    - Sautee onions and garlic in oil until fragrant, remove garlic piece after
    - Toast the rice in the oil (seems to be for every half onion, about a cup of rice) until it starts to brown
    - Add chicken bouillon and garlic powder and continue toasting for another minute
    - Then blend tomato with the garlic we set aside earlier. Add to the rice and stir constantly until it starts to become a warmer colour
    - Add hot water (seems to be about 2 cups/ 500ML) and if the sides dont boil, its not hot enough
    - Add pinch of salt, cilantro and jalapeno on top. Keep the lid on with the fire on the lowest setting for 20 mins
    - After 20 mins, there will be a thin layer of red sauce on top, good sign, and you fluff the rice. If you need the rice to be fluffier, let it sit with the lid on for 10 more mins without any heat

    People complaining on a “SHORT” talking bout it’s too fast.. that’s the whole point of SHORTS. Thank you for this video 10x better than a long video having to fast forward thru everything especially when cooking! If you didn’t hear what she said the first time it’s 15 seconds long re watch it…..

      Just go to the cog wheel button on the YT video and change the playback speed from normal to 0.75 and it is just like she is talking normally.

      @@dionnegang8901it’s just like a lazier or easier version of the rice we make she did skip on some ingredients (like chicken stock instead of water, she did add the jalapeños, oregano and the cilantro while is cooking however it’s better use lard instead of oil) but overall it’s going to be easier for them to make that way

      I don't think there's anything wrong with using canned food. idk why people are so against it. Some people just don't have the time or energy to chop or use a blender (I personally hate washing the blender so if it's not necessary to use it, I won't)

    This is pretty similar to a Nigerian dish I grew up eating in Africa. It's called Jollof Rice but we usually blend tomatoes, onions, and peppers then fry in a pot with seasoning and if you like (how my mom usually made it) a bit of water, and some meat stock😁

      It is Jollof, Mexico was a Moorish ruled Country, The Ancient Moors of Africa the foods of Mexico still exist, including tortilla also in Caribbean called Roti but for example Spanish rice from Spain is yellow and nothing the same as the tomatoes rice it was expelled w the moors but was also referred to as Jollof. Also the meats, soups and veggies The Moors influenced Mexico, Italy and Spain. Menudo is same as tripe in the Caribbean, where the moors rule, everything created was repo’d to the new Spaniards as their own

    Just use jasmine rice. Ita better than any long grain white rice youll ever find. It has a better texture and taste

      After she took the garlic out of pan she put it in with the tomatoes in the blender which all went into the rice after being pureed. Where is the confusion?

    Absolutely delicious! AdtI: I used the pinky line rule w/short grain as a preference and one morita pepper mixed in with 1 can whole tomatoes and ate the entire dish!! I lost the short and spent half a day trying to find you again. Ssooo glad I found you!! ❤❤❤

      Flavor of course but you dont need to use it. If you wanna use it but you dont like spicy just put it in whole dont cut it. Same concept with onion my fam doesnt like it in the rice so i just drop half a whole onion while it finishes.

    Add more seasoning. Also add tomato paste and instead of hot water do chicken/bone/beef broth.

    Or if this helps quicker and still the same yummy rice!
    1) DO NOT wash the rice. PLEASE it is not white rice! …..PLEASE.
    2) you do NOT need the onion nor garlic as long as you have chicken bouillon
    3) you do NOT need to make the tomato sauce you can simply purchase a can of tomato sauce
    4) DO toast the rice before put anything on it
    5) you DONT need the Serrano, nor cilantro
    6) DO NOT ADD EXTRA SALT, hello chicken bouillon remember? Yes that is your SALT/FLAVOR
    Don’t get all fancy keep it simple same flavor trust :)
    All you need RICE, WATER, TOMATO SAUCE,chicken bouillon and that is IT

    Instead of adding garlic powder - just take that whole removed garlic & add it to the blending tomatoes👍

    I would’ve used chicken broth instead of water and use Cumin. Your tomatoes can be your friend or your worst enemy. The flavor might not come on in your tomatoes is what I’m trying to say that’s why Abuela used canned tomatoes
