Present moment is so difficult. Eckhart Tolle finally put the feeling into words for me. We're afraid that if we aren't always thinking of something, we will disappear. I've been on this journey with pelvic pain for 3 years and started TMS work about 9 months ago. It's tough, but I'm trying to change how I see the world and not to fear the pain.

It's so difficult to not fear the pain, nobody wants it. If we face it for what it is it may not be the debilitating monster we think it is. I wish you well on your journey through the pain!

I so relate to the rollercoaster of being hopeful and then disappointed with treatments. I gave up in the end because I couldn't cope with this. I've had back pain for 28 years and am finally feeling hopeful that I can get better.

It can be frustrating and despairing when you hear or see people figuring this all out, but then you have to remember that when you are in a fear state, you can’t think straight. Sometimes just putting a sentence together can be hard, let alone learning neuroscience applications. It’s like someone giving you a puzzle and all the pieces are the same shape, but you don’t get to see the picture until it’s done. A lot of trial and error. But there is a way, and the picture at the end is beautiful. Trust the process. Thanks for sharing your journey. There are always helpful hints in all these recovery stories.

Ahhh when Scotty talked about the dry eye episode!!! That’s one of mine too! Do you ever get to a point where you just “live?” Where we aren’t always thinking ok is this situation causing stress I should be breathing etc… like you were describing about the waiting in line… do we ever get to a point where we are just waiting in line? Thanks for this great interview!

I'm so glad this video was helpful. Yes, I do believe we can get to a place where the healing work becomes unconscious. It does take consistent practice over time.

Hi Tanner and Scotty, thank you both for this Great and helpful interview. Dear Tanner, here’s my question. Where do we draw the line? After years of suffering and misdiagnoses, I have lost confidence in the whole medical system. (I’m in the US) I no longer have a doctor and cant decide if i want to go back, but when i get a bad cold or cough like now I have to go to urgent care. I had a very old fashioned GP as a kid, he was actually a mindfulness expert! and nowadays when you go, its like test test test and specialists for no reason. How do we choose a middle road? What’s your take on this?

I'm so glad this video was helpful. I am careful not to give my thoughts on engagement with the medical system, as I believe everyone needs to come to their own decisions about this. Of course I do recommend people get medically checked for symptoms (especially new symptoms) before working with them.

@@painpsychotherapy I just listened to your podcast episode with Anne on Medical Trauma and Anxiety. omg this is me to a Tee!!!!! Thanks a million for that episode. It's very validating. All I want to do is go into the clinic for a strep test, I've been sick for a week, and my whole body got flooded with panic waves just from making the appointment, so I cancelled. I now feel encouraged. I made another appt for tomorrow Trauma makes you doubt yourself. It kind of hi jacks your inner intuition and you can't tell if your symptoms are from being sick or from anxiety. Update! Good thing i went! I needed antibiotic and prednisone. I treated the whole Doctor Visit like a graded exposure. I got curious. i did slow breathing and tiny eft tapping, and now i have a better experience as evidence. Anne and Tanner are Amazing!!!!💚🙏🏽💚
