Or maybe how a charter gets setup beforehand? Like why does the Captain sign the "contract"? What can or can't you do schedule-wise based on where the boat is from the previous charter?

Congrats on the 100k milestone... well deserved! I would still like to see the guest experience from a "guest" POV, beyond the welcome drink coming on board. You could take someone like Paige and make her the "guest" coming on board for the first time and go through the on boarding process, showing her to her room, introducing all of the amenities, etc. That would be awesome to see day one of a guest. C'mon, you got this lol. If you want to add some hilarity to it, make Saun her "husband" and let them banty about as they explore the ship on "first day aboard". Lots of potential for humor and potential gust experience here... just saying...

Building on this idea; At one point some time ago AWOL (Tristan/SuperYachtCaptain) was talking about giving away a week long charter, perhaps consdier doing something like this with the condition that it can be filmed. Give your viewers a real glimpse into the guest experience and the perspective and thoughts of somenone that otherwise would likely never have that sort of experience. Keep up the awesome content!

Def need more sea stories from Paul and Davie!
The crew having a sea chanty-thon.
The worst and best ports you've been too, and why.
How does one 'get into' yachting as crew (not just where the idea came to the team, but the actual steps taken in their early career.)
A swim/jump/dive/surfing competition with the crew.
Bring in a RUclipsr guest who's willing to share their side of the charter along with yours.
    More guest horror stories/spilled tea.
What's a good guest or what makes a charter especially good for the crew as well as the guests.
Some more dive shots. SCUBA in particular.

    Congrats on the 100K subscribers!
    Ideas for video...
    1) A day in the life of a typical guests day (1 for activities and 1 for meals) and have the crew substitute in as the guests. I know many videos have part of the experiences and you help us to understand but would be nice to see. May be fun for the crew to have some fun. Could be a multiple video series depending how you break it down.
    2) Another idea is to do a compare/contrast video of the different islands (showing what is better and why) as one who has not visited, I am interested in these type of considerations. Might be fun to start with categories and have the crew provide their input and then has video to show some of the comparisons/contrasts.
    3) Crew scavenger hunt competition (this could be a series) - help to educate about the place(s) you are in which can involve in water/on ship/on land, etc. Clues about the place (history/geographical), parts of the ship, etc. You can do winner per segment and then overall.

    Here are some ideas:
I'm very technical so I would enjoy seeing the engine room during diffferent phases of operations. Same with the bridge. Might not be overly popular.
Maybe a view into everyone's typical workday on charter. "A day in the life of..."
A detailed look at all the toys, tenders, seadoos. I've always wondered about the beach landing craft.
Docking in tight spaces is always a great watch, I'll always enjoy docking procedures.

Idea 1: Similar to Crew Confessions, a segment from each crew member's day on a yacht, if not an entire day, than the work hours. Differences between 1st and last day of a charter.
Idea 2: Recap on entire Med season, but with never before seen footage, if available. Same with Caribbean.

  • @clifbradley

You should do a video about the way you choose where to take guests. You are picking the charter location but then where do you decide to go after that? Do you find out what the guests want to do and base it on that? Do you get a sense of how they'll be on day one and decide? I worked on yachts that would do that. Obviously the charter agent asked them in advance and we get an idea, but explain the charter process. What happens the moment a guest calls to book a charter? Maybe get the charter manager in the video. My favorite is the big envelope of cash for the tip on Below Deck. People think that actually happens, amd I've seen an gotten individual cash tips, but explain how the tipping actually works because in your 'tip meeting' you aren't throwing out stacks of cash, lol.

When guests are onboard the whole crew, other than the chefs, wears the same uniform. Since there are multiple uniform options, who makes the decision & tells the crew which uniform to wear for the day or occasion? If the decision was left up to Paul, everyone would be wearing board shorts 24/7! Is it one of the officer's, the chief stew or the purser?
At some point I would like to see a more detailed video about refueling the boat & the QC process for the fuel(s). Fire & emergency drills would also be interesting including a trip to yacht crew (re)certification school.

I would like to see more technical content as well; I know others have said the same. I know its not so glamorous, but deep dives with the engineers about what is going on in the engine room, or the technical side of what really goes into maneuvers, or anchoring, or charting, etc... How does the internet work? What do those servers look like? Lets see some repairs in action! I also think it could be interesting to let each department vlog for a week. Like maybe Alex takes the camera and shows everything he does or something like that...

Paul, and other team leaders: LOON and all of you are so awesome - in my experience, there is no other yacht channel that shares so much. And so many of us who follow you are soooo curious about all aspects of the industry, daily life, dealing with clients, and candidly, visiting some of the places you see - Croatia, the Riviera, the Caribbean, and on and on. (I was following Nina for a long time, and found you with her sojourn.) We also appreciate the LOON's owner - clearly a welcoming spirit and on board with a very different style of charter operation and channel, professional crew relationships, and sharing with us. Well done. I hope to follow your wake for a long fetch. Thanks.

There is nothing like a fire at sea to get the blood pressure up, the fire alarm is a worse sound than even the bilge alarms.
With the look of surprise on Blair's face I wonder how many knew Loon had her very own PI? And yeah, a good rule of thumb is don't charter to rappers/hip-hop artists unless you want the local DEA equivalent paying a visit. I bet he was shocked when he got tossed off in the middle of the night, LOL. Those guys are very used to getting their own way.

    Great video!
    Some ideas for upcoming videos:
    - why did you create this chanel?
    - paul's career and how he started yatching
    - blair's filming gear
    - how the girls set up the rooms for guests
    - places you never went on charter but wish to go someday
    - a day in the life of the crew
    - how the crew can "enjoy" the boat when there are no guests onboard
    - how do you plan any charter stops
    - what happens when the tip is very low😂
    - how do you plan activities whith the guests
    - how much it costs for the boat to anchor on the marinas and fuel cost
    - charter stories
Just great work! Love the channel!

That was a cooll part 3..thanks!!❤ And congrats with reaching 100k!!🎉 Ideas? as mentioned by Paul..you did something on fire and evacuation and medivac drills? special experiences with guests (as far as privacy allows)? Specials sounds in the ship and maybe spooky stories around them? history of the ship before it became Loon? and after general indroduction maybe special-topic video's with crew members? show what their training or educations are like for chartering? visiting other yachts?

Great video interesting hearing about the crews different experience and a bit of back story to them.
As for funniest Tristan and Cory, I think watching we see a lot of Tristan enjoying himself with any activity he’s doing never seems to be down. A nice Positive attitude.
You have a lovely team of people with you Captain Paul I suppose I have to include Blair 😂😂😂
    Cheers Guys

The video of his interview with Blair, it did cover where Capt. Paul was from. As a proud sand groper myself, I read where he was from Perth and I am interested to know how he got into yachting .

Hey Merv, I grew up sailing at the Royal Perth Yacht Club which allowed me to travel internationally for regattas. On these, I discovered yachting and made the jump over. Starting at the bottom and working my way up. 🇦🇺🤙

I grew up in Narembeen and now retired in north east Thailand. I remember the large racing yacht in the 50's and 60's from Royal Perth and I hope I spell it right Panamouna. I and many Aussies are proud of you Paul, you are a real ambassador for all of Australia.

Congratulations on the plaque - well deserved. Re ideas, it would be nice to do more on some of the passages that you take (most video seems to focus on once at destination). For example, when Paul is on the bridge talking to camera about where Loon is heading, be nicer if the camera swung around to look out of the window, whilst we still hear Paul talking - gives much better idea of the scenery and the other things to be experienced on Loon. Just think that more information on the journey would add to the already great coverage that you do on the destination(s). Could include dealing with weather etc. that you've done a bit of already but would be nice to see more of it. You might be worried about Blair losing more drones whilst underway though, LOL.

Enjoying the videos, new to the channel. One question would be about the coms tech on the yacht. I would like to know a bit more about the recent upgrades and what it means to have these improvements? Also, what coms systems there are on board and what the various antennas are for. Thanks and keep up the good work.

Guys well done on the 100k subs, here is to 500k. An idea for content is the following: showing in detail what each person does and shoe us as much of this as possible, then how do you recruit new staff for vacant positions as to what you are looking for. Explain how to dock Loon with the bow thrusters and the back props. I will try and think of some more and will let you know.

Million subs. Easy. Just make shawny the yacht club bachelor and see how many relationships he makes or breaks at sea
