      ¥oshi Xo it’s probably her way of covering how emotional her story is. By laughing at it. She’s young. She’s was a child. And she’s probably very devastated and hurt deep down but doesn’t want to show it.

      Shit I laughed to allllllll 24 years just how people hide their emotions and shit it’s life 🤷🏽‍♀️ can’t tell someone the way they want to explain their story is wrong when I watched it I even laughed 😂 cuz that’s how I felt it’s not immature you grow up looking for answer and these the answers you get imma make a joke about it too 💯 it’s like it happened gotta be able to laugh about it and move on

    Y’all need to quit criticizing her. It’s her story, her emotions and her own feelings. You don’t get to decide how she should feel because you disagree or feel offended 🙄

    • @tonshmar
      @tonshmar 6 лет назад +4

      Nor should you criticize those who are criticizing her as it is their feelings and THEIR OWN emotions. YOU don’t get to decide how THEY should respond based on THEIR feelings because YOU disagree with HOW THEY feel. - IJS 🙄🙄

      💯💯💯 Steph! And, sure, people are free to express their opinion. But, just like there are some ppl who watched the video and had an issue with it, some of us read the comments of ppl saying some hateful mean-ass shit about a life that’s not even theirs and had an issue with that. While some people didn’t like her word choice or what she had to say about her mom, some of us didn’t like the fact that ppl were judging someone else - when she was brave enough to share a story that was so personal - and didn’t like what was being said about her. That was OUR response to THEIR response when reading the comment section. WE just thought WE would express OUR own thoughts and share how WE feel.

    Your dad delivered all three of my babies!!!! He has been my doctor for about 11 years and he is amazing, sweet and such a kind hearted person. I worked with him this past weekend and he mentioned you graduating and wanting to visit you but not being able due to covid-19. Congrats on graduating and I wish you lots of success in the future. I truly believe in God and that you were placed in his life for a reason. Your mom is awesome too and I always love seeing her and talking to her at the office. Good luck with all that life has to offer!!!

    it has taken me three days to finally mustard up the courage to watch this video.
    I am adopted myself and was born exposed to cocaine & cigarettes in my system as a baby. my biological mom admitted to the social worker that she used every single day for 9 months. I was so small when I was a newborn. I look back on things and use to hate being adopted & my story.. it can be quite frustrating since I have a learning disability however watchin this gave me courage. Young lady, you are truly a inspiration to those like US and I pray you continue to share your story and embrace it because I am learning to embrace my past now.
    Thank you over all for sharing your story!

    I noticed the "I hate myself" blips on the screen when you talked about being born into drugs. You should never hate yourself--you are a treasure to your Heavenly Father who created and LOVES you so much!! Your identity is not in things that happened to you like that, it is found in whose you are, and you were made in the image of an amazing loving God! God bless

    When my newborn was staying in the Nicu the nurse said there is an unbelievable amount of babies that end up there after birth to detox from drugs. It was heartbreaking hearing the nonstop cry from one baby that I assumed was in pain detoxing.

    It's amazing that your birth mother, for all her problems, had enough presence of mind to go to the hospital instead of dumping you somewhere or even selling you for drugs. It happens and I'm super glad it didn't happen to you. As an adoptee I have such compassion for birth mothers who surrender their child to give them a chance at a better life. Addiction is an illness and we can't possibly know the demons that your birth mother struggled/struggles with. That you're here, that you're healthy and happy is partly because of decisions she made to give you a chance at a better life. And that is worthy of respect.

    • @miahhite4642
      @miahhite4642 6 лет назад +8

      It's amazing that you think that her drug addicted mother was doing her a favor by taking her to the hospital. That was her duty as the " mother" . She didn't choose to be born. She ditched her responsibility as a mother. She made the choice to do drugs during the pregnancy and after . Obviously she was doing it before. Because if she quit during the pregnancy. Termination would have happened most likely. So. The fact that you guys are mind numbingly iggnerant to make the comment " at least she didn't leave you in the hood or at least she took you to the hospital. " It's amazing how ignorant you all are. I was adopted at 13 years old. I was raped and beat and sold as a prostitute by my dad. But I am not sitting here bashing her story. Because we all have different stories. I just thank God she is alive and healthy and happy. I'm grateful I am too. Don't judge someone's story because it's different from your own. At least she didn't have to go through trauma. And she has enough courage to tell her story.

    • @richieyh3211
      @richieyh3211 6 лет назад +20

      I in no way bashed Leesie's story. Her story is amazing. What I actually said was that it was amazing that her birth mother had enough presence of mind to take her to a hospital, considering that she was probably in an altered mental state due to the drug usage. That is amazing. And it was a decision that the woman made that lead to Leesie's amazing dad meeting her and her parents adopting her. And after reading the bit of your story that you shared, it's amazing that you're alive as well. I wish you nothing but good things. Peace.

    • @honeybat8803
      @honeybat8803 2 года назад +1

      Richiey, I 100% agree.
      I know what it’s like to be in an altered state of mind from prolonged drug use, and imo the mother should be acknowledged and respected for her part in Leesie’s story (and her clarity of mind in that situation).
      Addiction is definitely a brutal disease & illness. And even if a mother (or addict in general) wants to get clean or stay sober, withdrawals or trauma in itself can be enough to go back to or stay on drugs.
      Im glad almost everyone is happy & healthy (& safe / with hopefully minimal trauma) in this situation. I do hope her birth mother is clean & happy/healthy too. Even if chances are that she may not be..❤️‍🩹🖤❤️

I wouldnt have it any other way, my super hero/ my adopted mother passed when i was 18. Adoption has saved so many children, me included. I have 3 kids of my own and 2 adopted kids. hi guys!! i see some comments saying i’m bashing the “hood” (putting it in quotes bc people are getting insulted by me calling it that and i’m so sorry) and i’m being disrespectful towards people who live there. first of, i am so sorry if i came off that way, that was never my intention. secondly, i was never bashing the hood. there is nothing wrong with living there. someone said that i didn’t give hope to people who live there. honestly in my opinion, if you have the right mindset and you have a drive, you can accomplish anything you set your heart to. doesn’t matter where you are from!!! what i was getting at was if i was to live with my biological mother who was a drug addict, i don’t think i would be the person i am today. i say that because i have learned so much from my parents and in some ways i’m just like them. the reason i said i prob wouldn’t be doing youtube or into film/tv and cameras is because, when i was little, i used to watch my dad on this portuguese television station and was so in awe of him on tv and everything that happened behind the scenes. now back to me saying the hood wouldn’t be a good environment for ME personally to live in. i was only talking about MY personal situation. i was referring to the specific street and area. a lot of drugs and violence happen in that specific area. her personal living environment was not suited for a child and the fact that she would chose drugs over me on most days. i’m not saying that everyone’s personal space is like that, because that is certainly NOT TRUE. i never said you can’t be successful if you come from “the hood”. i never said you are lesser than if you come from “the hood” and i certainly never meant to bash “the hood” or my birth mother. everyone is a person and everyone is equal!! doesn’t matter where you come from, who you are, what your race/nationality is, what your sexual orientation is, if u love justin bieber or not lol! WE ARE ALL PEOPLE AND WE ARE ALL EQUAL!!!!!!! also, to the people saying i need therapy and that i’m sooooo angry... i’m really not and i’m totally fine. i have no hate in my heart towards her. what she did for me was such a blessing and i hope she got clean and is living her best life. now to the people who are saying i’m not apart of the black community because i didn’t grow up around black people... you are ignorant lol and that’s just false. also, when i said i would might be homeless if i wasn’t adopted you guys brought it once again back to the hood and me saying people in the hood are homeless. that is not what i meant. if i was never adopted, i would be in the foster system until i was 18 and aged out. now i’m not an expert but getting an apartment is a lot of money and i certainly didn’t not have enough money to live on my own when i was 18 (two years ago). so that’s why i said i would probably be homeless. lol please stop bringing everything back to “the hood” and assuming i’m bashing it.

      Leesie Pinto as far as I know, its okay to be angry to your birthmom until later you feel free. It will be a problem if you not after what she did.
      My bestfriend faced almost same situation as you. Her father leave her and her mother when she was young.
      Everything seems okay for many years until later at 21, she have a very weird behaviour and cant live a normal life.
      She then visit phsyciatrist and the phsy said it all happened because the anger she have toward her dad didnt come out.
      The phsy said its okay to be angry. What not normal and can cause damage is if she not angry.
      So based on my friend's story and yours in comparison, I think you have a good happy normal life because you can express your feeling toward your birthmom freely not hold it like my friend.
      Im very happy for you Leesie. . .
      Note: sorry for probably many wrong spelling or grammar. English is my 3rd language😂

    I was born addicted too and they said I screamed for almost 3 months, alcohol and crack and other stuff. The doctor knew and everyone knew but they didn’t take me away from her. I’m pretty happy that they didn’t but I dealt with drugs and fighting for 8 years and I love them a lot even though they did that. I didn’t even get to be detoxed :( My parents both have passed away (I’m 15) and my gparents adopted me so I’m so blessed as are you. God makes everything happen for a reason even if it’s so horrible. He’s so good!!!

    My story:
    When my birth mom got pregnant with me she was addicted to drugs (meth) and she had gotten pregnant with a guy that she had no relationship with. She took drugs the whole time she was pregnant with me. When I was born she got arrested almost immediately and I was born not breathing and was taken to the intensive care for 10 days. After they found out I would live, they found a foster home for me, a elderly couple, that were only doing it for money that they got for me but used it for themselves. They kept me strictly vegetarian and never spoke to me, so I didn’t talk till I was 3, and I was very very sick. I was in that home for 2 really horrible years. Then a family looking to adopt, found me, and they adopted me. To this day I have a lot of health issues that are from the drugs in my system. Including, ADD, Depression, fatigue, brain fog, and gluten intolerance. The same thing happened to my biological brother who is 2 years younger than me, and my family almost adopted him but they weren’t ready for 2 more kids at once, one being a tiny baby. But he got adopted later on. My birth mom is still doing drugs and is in and out of jail.

    Aww you are beautiful inside and out! God is definitely good!! I am a recovering addict who had my daughter taken away from me once I went to an inpatient program.. I fought harder than ever to get her back.. Stayed clean and jumped through every hoop to get her back & finally after a year and 7 months she came back home. Life can get really hard but better days are to come...

      "the hood" refers to neighborhoods with mostly black occupants. Rather than "ghetto" which if it's where your birth mom was from it probably was. For example, my mom lives in the hood, but it's not a poor ghetto.

  • @preciouscollins-brown2575
    @preciouscollins-brown2575 6 лет назад +82

    She mentioned the hood once so I’m confused on how she bashed it. Every neighborhood is different and I know bc I was born in raised in Miami and things were bad there. My sibling and I turned out great but our parents had the mindset of not allowing our living situation to define us and maybe things would have been bad for her with her mom being addicted to drugs and caring more for drugs than for her kids. It’s just how’s she feel and it’s her story.

    • @chantrvll
      @chantrvll 6 лет назад +7

      Precious Collins-Brown well she has clear resentment towards her birth mother... which is understandable, but she was also raised by white parents in a probably white environment, so its a different mindset ig. I just hope she still knows how great black culture is and has pride in it! (idk this is just my first video i'm watching of her sorry)

    • @preciouscollins-brown2575
      @preciouscollins-brown2575 6 лет назад +2

      I’m pretty sure she still does still love black her culture. I was just saying hat she didn’t bashed the hood. She only mentioned it once and everyone is just doing to much about her video and how she views what happened to her... Not saying that you are

    • @LeesiePinto
      @LeesiePinto  6 лет назад +11

      i don’t resent my birth mom. what she did for me was truly a blessing. also i do have pride in black culture. i also have black family members so i didn’t just grow up around whites people lol

    I don’t want you to take this offensive in anyway because your situation is very serious but, your experience kind of reminds me on the show The Fosters. It’s about these two women who adopt and foster kids. It’s such a wonderful show and it shows me how much being adopted and being fostered can change a child. When I’m older I want to adopt a child in need of a loving family. I’m glad you were blessed with an amazing family! Im adopted and my mother was the first woman who took me home at 4 months. I was born addicted to crack and i had alot of problems when i was young. That shit molded my life cause it gave me a different outlook on life and how things should be appreciated. I got adopted into a family of 5 other boys, as a 31 years old man i realized alot of seperation but thats on them. My adopted mother/ super hero passed when i was 18 and i named my first daughter after her

    You are such a beautiful girl...i cant begin to imagine how you feel being abandoned by your birthmother. But you know what? Thankfully birthmom went to a hospital and had enough sense to walk away from you instead of trying to keep you in an unhealthy enviornment. Or a whole lot worse..you are definately blessed and lucky. Just maybe try to soften your view on your birthmom. She truly didnt even have to have you, but she did. Remember, we are all flawed human beings. Again, happy for you and i hope your journey continues to be blessed
