Have you ever considered going to school to train to be a therapist? You have such a caring heart and you're so understanding. I think anyone can relate to you within minutes.

That is, if she’s the kind of therapist who opens up about her own feelings and personal life, like my old therapist was. That’s what helped me get through, her saying, “Everyone’s human, even me.” If not, she’ll sadly get a bad rap just like the other six I had.

@@keithvnumber1 if the therapist is relating to having emotions or making errors as humans do, then no. If the therapist is using the session to tell their client their personal stories...yes. But making your client/patient feel less alone by stating a truth (we all make mistakes, even me; anger is an emotion we all feel, I can feel that way too. It's important to recognize the feeling and figure out why you are feeling that way in that moment... Etc).

Good grief you can't make a blanket statement without the proper police always chiming in. By relatable I meant she has a personality that makes you feel at ease and is very Understanding. I'm not saying Melinda is going to need to give her life story to every client. They can watch her RUclips for that for fk sake. Why do all the negative Nellie's gotta butt in?

A friend of mine’s daughter was diagnosed with cancer stage 4 at the age of 7. She passed away 3years later. She was a beautiful child, a fighter, wise beyond her years. She loved a song by a singer, Mandisa, called, “overcomer”. I was actually able to help her attend a concert and have backstage passes to meet Mandisa herself. It was incredible. Keira would play that song over and over to fill up her love cup and give her strength to keep fighting. After hearing your arduous climb to overcome all you’ve been through i see that same spark Keira had in you! You’re going to do amazing things with your life, because you are an overcomer and you deserve the very best of what this world has to offer! Keep going and Never.Give.Up!

I didn't understand why she didn't help me when i was sa'd and physically abused by my bio dad. She was also being abused by him and i now realized she did the best she could for her abilities. It took me along time to understand the whole picture. I'm so grateful for the relationship i was able to build with her as an adult. I am so, so, so sorry you had to go through that ❤
That being said, you really are an inspiration to everyone going through hard things. You show us that life CAN get better, it is NOT over, and help IS available! To think what an extraordinary woman you are now, a great mother, a fantastic sister, a very loved daughter obviously, and achieving so much in your life at such a young age... You show the world that everything is possible, and everyone is worthy of the BEST life has to offer!
I am over on the other side of the planet, does not know anyone in your family, and still, you are one of my biggest inspirations and one of the people I really, truly look up to and aspire to be more like. Melinda this is your story and you keep it, hold on to it, and you use it to get stronger, more brave, and at times I tell my kids who were adopted, mentally and physically abused. Who were abandoned before the age of 6. I told my kids to kick its ass and defeat it by using all the things I offer. Most of all, do the best as a kid, teenager, and student. Finally, go to college and be whatever they wanted to be. They did and they are doing it. They told me I should write a book about working with them, working in the street, and working with over 2,500 kids. I told my kids that it is there story not mine. My story is to love my shrink son, my attorney daughter, my surgical P.A., my marine biologist, and my musician son and they did it their own.

Thank you for being so transparent. You may have helped another girl tell someone her story of abuse and be able to get help.

What I learned from the foster, adopted, the throwaway kids is that want you to be quiet and just be there.

I am so glad that you are using your platform to bring light to abuse. I was sexually abused at maybe 7 by my grandparents neighbor. I’m 43 now. To this day, no one in my family knows. I have always felt ashamed. I’d let my parents down. But here I am, speaking up, because of you. As a grown woman and mother, I feel that all Moms out there have to teach their children to advocate for themselves and if they cannot then let an adult know when your uncomfortable. Kids need to learn how to be fast these days. Sad but true. We don’t know what’s in our surroundings these days. Love you Melinda and Crystal! God Bless. 💝😘

Melinda if I knew you I would give you the biggest hug and not let go for the longest time. I am so proud of you for sharing your story. I’ve been watching these channels of your family for a number of years and I’m not certain if you’ve ever told us that details but my heart stopped and I just wanted to hug you I currently have a 15-year-old daughter and just to even think about how scared and how awful that that was for you it’s broken my heart but I’m so proud of who you’ve become and grateful of course for your family
