Your willingness for adventure and trust that Pete was building your skills and confidence was awesome to watch. So cool to see you go from unsure all the way to exploring new routes! That’s kind of where climbing meets parkour: seeing something interesting you could climb / mess about on and just trying it.
@@ArtZ00 magnus has some big wall videos. They are pretty old, but they are fun to watcg. It was before he blew up on YT. It would be cool to see another collab like this tho
One thing I've always loved about watching Toby, whether it's climbing like this, or high-level parkour. It's the transparency of the fear. Toby never hides his fear, he never pretends it isn't there just to run in to danger, and he never closes his eyes and runs away. Watching Toby always assess what he's doing and understand not only the limits of his body, but the limits of his mind, is just a treat. Though I really have no right to feel this way, I always feel proud whenever I see him look at a challenge and say "No, that's not for me". Fear can hold people back, maybe saving them from danger, maybe stopping them from realising their potential. But watching Toby really shows just how much a person can gain from trusting their fear, you and your fear can work together. Amazing to see you both having a great time as always, can't believe you picked a random wall and just went for it, a swagsville feast for sure
Absolutely brilliant! As a non-climber, I feel like I've learnt so much from your attitudes to challenge, that I can apply to other things. Hearing someone as apparently super-human as Toby say something like "Come on Segar, keep going, you've got this" was really inspiring.
Yeah, I really liked those bits of Toby hyping himself. It's just a good example of Pete's first rule: safety #1 is you and your ability. Toby was on belay, but he psyched himself up during the scary bits because he knew the only one getting him up that wall was Toby Segar. A little bummed he calls himself Segar and not Ginga Ninja though.
This series is fantastic. Watching with sweaty hands almost the whole way but so exciting! Toby did great and Pete was an excellent teacher. Enjoyed the 'live' comments during the whole adventure. An amazing accomplishment, filming and editing (music👌) included👍.
This is really special. This felt like the first accurate portrayal I’ve seen of what it feels like to go through an epic. You really get an idea of the headspace that takes over your body when you climb and you’ve managed to capture the internal dialogue climbers have in these situations by throwing Toby in headfirst. Glad you boys are safe and job well done on the footage and the FA!
Pete is such an amazing teacher and guide, and Toby's determination and willingness to do it all is pure awesomeness. (Or Swagalicious!) What a fantastic pair! Love their easygoing laughs while crushing these ascents. Great filming, music, commentary, and climbing! Fingers crossed that there will be more to come.
Hard agree. Watching a super experienced and super psyched climber (Pete) taking someone relatively new, with both of them giving honest and unfiltered commentary through what is essentially their first climbing holiday together was wonderful, and the contrast of seeing Pete talking through what he expected to and did come across, whilst Toby had utterly relatable gripped experiences on what by his own admission felt like easy ground he would have otherwise walked was amazing. Also I genuinely have never identified with an approach more than when Toby described his wandering lead; seeing something, getting tunnel vision, and climbing up a dead end is basically every route I've ever done and I feel seen :D
Such a good little series. Two of the most humble pro athletes lifting each other up and celebrating each other's successes is just what we needed right now. Loved watching Toby overcome his fears and the mental battle and pushing to the top of a literal mountain. Doesn't get much more inspiring than that!

@@jonathanschmidt1668 There was this race on Top Gear, where Jeremy Clarkson was racing an Audi up a curving and long mountain road against two climbers who went straight up the wall. It took them about two hours and they beat the car ... and then Jeremy asked "double or nothing" for a downhill ... which the climbers easily won by using parachutes. That's what I am expecting from a "climber + parcour guys combo" ... eventually.
This was a great series. Having followed both Pete and Toby seperately for quite a while, this series has been fantastic. It has been eye opening and probably the first series that i have seen which really captures what climbing outside a gym for a ‘beginner’ is really like. Being a ‘living room/gym climber’ this has really given me the motivation to try outdoor climbing. Just wanted to show my appreciation and hope that you both continue to produce content together! The content along with the editing was fantastic!
This series is easily my favourite bit of climbing youtube in like 5 years. Super fresh, super accessible, really fun. Just big props and cheers for making something this cool.
What a brilliant video. Considering how far climbing films have come from the early BBC epics with a lorry full of gear, directors, film crews, generators and all. Now two guys and a drone produce such quality. Absolutely brilliant. 👍👍👍👍
Pete, you’re an incredible tutor. And Toby, I honestly have no words for how impressive this is. Even just to be able to climb hard for consecutive days and still have a grip left is amazing for someone who’s mostly a boulderer. Have absolutely loved every minute of this series.
What an epic series. I really loved witnessing the psychological battles a climber must face. Toby is an absolute beast, and Pete did great teaching an entirely new skill set in a very abbreviated time frame. Legends.
Honestly one of the best set of videos I've ever watched, loved the tension (editing was fantastic) and the progression from Toby. Definitely would like to see more of these!
Fuuuckin hell, talk about in at the deep end ! Loved the series, i'm not a climber (just a necessary scrambler when required when cliff fishing) but the whole series was pure entertainment.
I'm new to trad climbing. Been climbing for years, progressing from bouldering, top rope, sport climbing and now trad. Taking that first step into climbing with nothing but you own gear scared me shitless, especially when you add in having to build your own anchor. This video series has been immensely pedagoigcal in learning trad. The way Pete walks Toby through all the gear, what they're called, what to bring, how to use it and adapt to situations. What placements were good and what he'd done instead. Such a great resource for deepining your climbing knowledge.
Dude this was so so good. As a moderately experienced climber I don't think I've ever seen anything that captures what it feels like to be new in the mountains taken out by a friend like this. Like the emotions were so good. The editing was next level. Absolutely most authentic climbing video for non-professionals I've ever seen period. Well well done through and through.
Pete you did a great job in picking a level of climb that toby probably would have said was too hard but somehow was just within reach. And Tobys a champ for just crackin on and getting it done. This series has been great more like it please.
I really enjoy this style of video, not just because the chemistry of you and toby, but the narration , the music, the insight into how climbing gets done. PoV mixed with drone shots. It really felt like a masterpiece AAA production quality series. Even if you went solo I would love to see more of these big wall climbs . Keep it up dudes!!!!
And with this series you folks have cemented yourself as the best climbing channel on RUclips... By quite a long way. Amazing progression by Toby too, just unreal to see the progression.
This was honestly such a great series! Kudos for all the effort involved. I've no doubt if you keep putting out stuff even close to this quality that the channel will continue to grow. Awesome!
I wasn't really into climbing. But this series is God tier, you absolutely smashed it guys! Would like to see more from both of you working together. Defenetly a subscriber from now on!
I can't express how impressed I was watching Toby lead those pitches, and on a brand new route as well - down-climbing, traversing, route finding... such an awesome job. His "head game" is insane!
What a great series concept, and brilliant execution. 10/10. Best series I've watched in ages, by far. Thanks Toby and Pete! I can't wait to see what's next.
All these videos were honestly such fun to watch, but this was definitely my favourite, especially the extended clips, which i can understand get boring, but to me are the most interesting
What an epic series! Both lads did a fantastic job, would love to see more like this. I like that it wasn't just climbing too, had the skills, drills and banter along the way.

This really was one of the best series I’ve seen in a long time. Two incredibly humble guys, both absolute beasts at what you do, just out on a fun little adventure. Thoroughly enjoyed watching, big props to Toby for getting stuck in and all that he learnt and huge respect to Pete for being such a great teacher. Well done guys.
Just finished binge-watching all of it - gotta be one of the best series here on the tube! The climbing, the shots, the music and especially the chemistry between the both of you is just on another level! Congrats and cheers to you, Pete - and Toby, of course!

Proper bromance going on and the level of respect for each others skills is awesome 👌 Complete respect for the trust Toby has for Pete which allows him to push him further and further outside his comfort zone 👍🏻 😎 Looking forward to the next series boys 👊
I was rooting for toby so much at the end. Really nice content, fun and educational. If you pay attention you can learn lots from stuff like this, keep it on!
Best thing I have seen on RUclips for quite some time - the whole series has been a pleasure to watch. Thanks to you both for letting us in on your adventure and witnessing the unfolding accomplishments throughout. Amazing, bravo!

This has been an unreal journey. Don't know how to describe it differently. I've been on a semi climbing binge for a couple of months now, watching various videos of new ascents and freeclimbing - but despite all that craziness it doesn't really match up with this series. Perhaps because I'm already a fan of Toby Segar and Storror in general, but actually I think it's just the motivational opioid of seeing you guide us through a man's journey from basic to advanced. It's extremely motivating. I want to climb now. I'm afraid of heights but what is fear if not for conquering? Maybe not in 5 days, but I'd be happy with 5 years. Thanks for this video series, and for showing that you're also willing to jump across the hood of a car just to advance your skills. Always thought my skillset was based on the mental, but now I feel like it's time for the physical. It has been building up for a while, but this series has pushed me over the edge. I will become stronger and more confident in my body. By all metrics it seems like it's worth it.
I love climbing videos but this series takes the crown. This gopro pov mixed with drone shots setup is absolutely bomber! Toby talking to himself takes you right into his headspace. I was freakin out a bit myself. I’m def taking a big wall course now, looks bloody epic! Thanks for this lads!
both of your have such childlike wonder when it comes to adventure and that's something truly to behold. thank you for letting us all experience this with you.

Very well... Toby crushing it again... establishing a new route is not easy, least of all after only 5 days of learning... very well taught and very well learned... Congratulations to both...and congratsfor this series, it was really amazing, well filmed and edited with amazing scenes...💪💪💪
Wow! Amazing series, followed storror for years and Toby has always shown his talent but the transfer of knowledge and ingenuity of Toby here is absolutely amazing, hats off to him and you and his guide! Ross over from parkour to climbing, Thankyou
Thank you so much for this, this was a whole experience! And the editing, god damn man - beautiful. I hope you and Toby do more stuff together in the future 🙌
What a series lads! Top editing and a pleasure to see your friendship grow over the course of the trip. As a beginner, this really opened my eyes to big wall/ outdoor climbing... would love to see more of the same!
Boyz. That there was one of the best contents I have seen yet. If was pure, the music gave it some drama and the POV really transported the feel. Thank you and Toby for taking us on that journey. It was a pleasure!
Awesome, amazing, fantastic (add your own impressed adjective!) content! So entertaining, inspirational and, ultimately, uplifting. Massive thanks, Pete and Toby!
What an incredible experience. Thanks so much Pete 🙌🏻🙌🏻
Total pleasure, great trip that!
Glad we could come along as well

This entire series was class! The only problem? This was the last episode lol I'd happily watch more adventures like these with Toby.
yeah, i could watch one of these every day
Next up: Nose ground up
Series 2 🤷
Right? So good. Watched this several times now.
Love these collabs.
same, same
