Mascon Leather
Is it just me or is watching edge beveling so satisfying is slow motion?
Educational, entertaining, straight to the point! No wasted time! I like it! Oh ya, I like the craftsmanship on the product.
Thank you!!
Normally when I’m told to like and subscribe and comment… I do not. But there is a first time for everyone. Well done on these videos. I like how they are informative, positive and fast moving. I find myself inspired to clean up my messy corner to work on another project. ‘God speed brother.
I appreciate that!
Nice to have a video from you Artie. Life is a rough road and not for the faint of heart. Wishing you peace and love in 2024. Love sent your way from Wisconsin. Deb
Thank you for that!
I love your wallet designs
always enjoy your videos Artie
I appreciate that!
This has got to be one of your best sellers
Thanks! It is
Thank you so much brother for your videos. This is exactly the kind of hobby I was looking for as in my second month of retirement. Looking forward for more of your videos. Thanks again for sharing. God bless you brother. 🙏🏽
Thank you!!
Great to see another Mascon production. Best wishes for the coming New Year.
Thanks, you too!
I didn't know what to get my grandsons for Christmas this year and I hunt alligators and got a hide tanned several years ago and never done anything with it and couldn't find someone to make me some stuff that I could afford, a little over 2 weeks ago I ran across your videos and started watching everything I could to learn, I can't thank you enough for your videos and knowledge you shared, I got a long way to go but they are starting to turn out pretty good
0:03 first time here. Cheers. Just starting out. Very much appreciate your get it done this is it for the small projects that I might attempt. Seeing your store online your large pieces are phenomenal. Thanks again for showing weed-hopper the way
Thanks , grasshopper
Top shelf as always. Good to see a post from you and Chloe. All the best for the new year, thanks Artie.
Thank you for the continued support!!
Hey Artie, I've been a big fan for a few years now. Started watching your videos and now I'm into making my own leather goods and I'm loving it. I see you like our bourbon. I'm a processor at Buffalo Trace Distillery and I work in Blantons Hall. I process Blantons on a daily basis along with all of our other single barrel bourbons. It kinda runs in the family as well. My daughter works at Woodford Reserve and my son in law works at Barton 1792 Distillery. Glad you are a fan of our bourbons! Cheers
Oh wow !!!
Shoot me an email. I’d love to chat about a few things.

Excellent - as always. Thanks!
Artie thanks for doing what you do. Here is to a great 2024.
Thanks!!
Thanks for sharing your expertise! Really enjoy your channel
Thanks for watching!
Always great to see another video! I agree 100% with your sentiments on the Easter eggs!
Is there difference between the dye in the tube for the single edges and the dye in the jar for the stacked edges? Best wishes for 2024!

Love the videos. Your creative style is so off the wall. And, hey you're pretty good at leathercraft too.😂👍
😆 Thank you so much !
Good learn a lot thank you
You are welcome
happy new year keep them coming Artie see you next year
Thanks, you too!
Thank you very much for all your videos, they are my main reference, especially on how to organize and execute the work. Without you it would be much worse (and slower).
Thank you for that!
I like those styles of wallet
Thank you!
@@MasconLeather you are welcome
Gonna try to make this one...... Eye ballin template measurements
Nice work, as always!
Thanks again!
Outstanding!
Thank you kindly!
Great work. New subscriber. Would love one of these
Thanks !!
Thanks for the sub!
Восхитительно 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Always love your videos. Who makes your dies for the clicker press and how do you tell them what dimensions you want? Do you have to send them a CAD deawing? Also who makes you stamps? Same question, do you have to send them a CAD drawing?? Thanks
Puzzle maker in Singapore. Hand drawings (done well). They convert them for me.
Really good video again love it 🤟🏻
Thanks again!
Enjoy the videos! Where can I get a custom logo stamp made?
Leather stamp maker dot com. Tell him I sent you
Can’t tell you how much you inspire me to do better on my work. Your style and presentation are perfection and love all your humor. All the best to you in 2024 and beyond. Thank you for all you do!
Wow, thank you! I really appreciate that!
Agreed!
@MasconLeather how would you suggest going about doing curves without the jigs?
Chloe looks so happy and so pissed at the same time chasing that whippersnapper around 😅
Great video as always. Your production quality, camera angles, and jokes are always the stuff of legend! Cant wait to see what you'll coom up for us in the new year. You're the man Artie!
P.S. Are you using your clicker die with the blade up? Is there a specific reason for that? I've always seen others use them blade down.
Thanks !!!
Yes. Blade up and that is 100% wrong. 😆 but I have special plates that will work that way. I do blade down on my plates too. I just don’t like messing up the red 1” thick poundo board from weaver.
Boas. Adoro os teus vídeos e os teus trabalhos... São de um verdadeiro artista.... O que costumas beber à fazer os vídeos... Fiquei curioso 😂
Hells ya pink socks hahahahaah fluffy pink socks hahahahahaahah love it
Right ?!?!
Always enjoy your videos Thanks for showing the Knipex - I've been wrestling with cutting rivets and was putting it down to being a female QAP. I've now ordered a pair. (Happy Xmas to me from me.)
Thanks !!
Your wallet looks awesome! I have a quick question; I hope you can answer it. I'm thinking of getting a personal stamp for wallet making. Should I go for a 1-inch size stamp, or would it be better to go bigger?
1” is a good sweet spot. Any larger and it would look good on most wallets. Be humble
@MasconLeather just bought a 1 inch stamp. Thank you
What is the tool you used to compress the leather when you glued it? Some form of pliers, but I can’t seem to find the right term to give Google 🤣
“Amy Roke” leather pliers. Kevin lee makes a pair as well.
Hi there. I have a question about aluminum jigs. Are they anodized?
All rulers are anodized.
Great video 👌🏻any tips where to find some clicker dies , best regards Jonas
Thanks. I get mine made by a puzzle maker In Singapore
Ayyye, it's been awhile 👍
Life got messy, but I’m getting back on track. Thanks for watching!
@@MasconLeather I hear that 🤯 I'm glad things are getting better, brother.
Hey bro you could send me that bottle of Blanton's, very tasty lol. Love your videos very inspiring and well made. Best of luck in all you do.
Hi, What interesting dies do you use?
Custom made
Have you done the Truman wallet build?
How do you make your designs? I tried making a wrap wallet initial design on paper and then made it with some scrap I had but found that my measurements from the paper over to the leather were off enough that nothing fit when I was done!
Make and remake. You’re halfway there. Now, make it bigger. Trial and error. After a few wallets you’ll be better at guessing lengths. Use cheap leather for prototypes
Out of curiosity, why do you dye and burnish the edges before you put it together? I ask because you then sanded, and then reburnished the edges again when it’s glued together. Just wondering
I only dye non glued edges first …. The part where I sanded and redyed was because glue was on the outside. I explained it in the video.
Ciao tieni qualche video dove fai una ciabatta semplice in cuoio grazie 😊
👍
Where do you source your rivets? I keep looking and they're pricey.
90% of the time, eBay
Great model, good work, as always, but where did the slippers go?😀
Slippers are only taking a break. They’ll be back
@@MasconLeather I'm waiting for the next video😀. Greeting from Ukraine.
Question, how do you make your clicker dies?
A puzzle maker in Singapore
@@MasconLeatheris there a contact you could share?
When will the rivet setters be back in stock?
We have a batch (9 or 10) in the works now. So a few weeks or so.
@MasconLeather OK, thanks would really like one. Thanks for all your videos. It has inspired my love for leather work again after 30 years of absence from it. The day I watched your how to stitch video on saddle stitching it changed everything. Thanks again!
Привет. Часы на браслете больше нравятся чем на ремешке?

who makes your clicker press dyes?

I enjoy looking at your art, but I don't think you use Shell Cordovan. Do you have a specific reason for this?
I’m booked into late 2025 with orders. No one bad requested it yet. 🤷♂️
@@MasconLeather Ah! Anyway, Cordovan or not, your videos are certainly fun to watch!
Great work as always. I apologize if you have answered this at some point. Would you mind telling me where/who makes your logos that you use to stamp into each of your leather projects?
Usually, leatherstampmaker dot com. Tell him I sent you.
Will do. Thank you very much.
Curious Artie: the box of scraps - I’ve got one too, but I don’t know what to do with them. What do you do with your small scraps? Just loving the rivets-
I make keyfobs. Other than that, “scrap”
I'm sure others have asked, but where can I find an "Olivia" please?
😆 she came to me one night. I kept her.

Wow, sir!!! Thank you!!
Another great leatherworking video! Where do you get your custom clicker dies made?
Also, where do you get your custom stamps made?

Thanks, boss!@@MasconLeather
Hey brother , are you realky from 757?
Yes
@@MasconLeather another reason to like you. 👍 thanks for your channel. Your work is beautiful.
Why do all the burnishing in the beginning and all your edges instead of just doing the edges that are exposed because in the end you burnish everything again? Why do it twice?
Hello! Would you like to have some shorts created from this RUclips video? It can drive more people to your channel.
you drink to much 🤣🤣🤣
😉
hi! new comment my from Japan.every Watch RUclips!watasimo leather craft この動画ずーっと見てます。
Thanks for watching!
never use acetone to clean stain off of your cutting mat.
I learned this the hard way.
Twice.
Because I'm slow, obviously.
😆
Subscribed. What do you do with leather scraps? I’m a beginner and just curious because they’re already piling up lol
Thanks for the sub. Scraps - keyfobs. Bit I have 100+ pounds of scraps. Not sure what to do with it
Was wondering where you get your clicker dies made? I recently got into the hobby from your videos and really diving deep already. I'm ready to get a few dies made to make life easier.

Chloe was quite obviously spot checking the craftsmanship of your side project. 😂😂
😆 she’s a tough inspector
Is the Husky your Son's dog? I used to have 3, 1 girl that same color.
Yes. Nicks new puppy.
Always great to see a new Mascon video drop! Love the work and format and pace of your vids!
Much appreciated!
Good morning, l have a quick question, why do people use a hand held heat gun after applying glue? Does it help it stick better? Just curious. Thanks
Speeds up the time to tacky
@@MasconLeather thank you
I was actually wondering if it did fall off 😂
😆
Love the work, and respect for pouring that Blantons like it’s readily available.
😆
I appreciate the work you do. As a fellow leather worker I have picked up on a few great process that has shown.
I will be adding a little something to my coffee ….. seems to help.
Hope you have an amazing New year!!
Thanks !!
Thank you for making these great videos! They are fun and I learn so much from each one!!
You are so welcome!

Thanks
Well, this is your first video that I have watched. As a newbie, I appreciate the commentary on why you do things. Awesome job by the way. I really like simple, rustic functional products. Thanks!
Welcome aboard!
I just found your channel about 2 weeks ago and your style is just taking over my thought process on how and what I want to do.. thank you
I have a question though.. you use "white mud" for the inside slicking.. WHAT is the "white mud"?
See my “questions and answers” video. I explain it in detail
Very cool wallet man.
Does the heat gun help the barge to set up faster, or is it to reactivate it if you leave it too long and it dries? My can of weldwood contact cement says that if you leave it to dry for too long, you can reactivate it with a heat gun.
Just makes it dry faster. I’ve waited up to 4 hours before assembly before. 😆
Hi, greetings and happy new year from Yorkshire England. I was fortunate enough to get some leather craft tools and stuff for this Christmas. Your site is totally inspiring because there's so much to learn.
Love this card holder. It's different, with the rivets and not stitching. I'm looking forward to having a go at replicating it. Initially it will be the hard way, as some of the bigger tools are not part of the plan or budget yet, but the idea is wonderful, and manageable too.
Keep up the great work. I'm inspired.
I appreciate that !
Great video!!! Get that Chloe some pink socks!
Right ?!?!
Nice to see a new video, great info as always.I have questions on what size needle you use for 1mm thread, thanks
I can’t recall right off. But I explain it in my hand stitching video.
Gotcha!!!!
