I’ve told you before on IG that I’m planning to make one of your bags.. it was the Valise.... but now I’m watching this thinking.... YES!!! Dude your work every damn time I see it is stunning! I drool over the leather, the shop, the tools your boy makes, the designs, and as has been stated over and over.... the production quality of every photo, video, and post you put out. Makes me absolutely realize that I need to get better! Thanks for the motivation Artie!

I clicked the link, and here I am to watch a video about how to make a satchel... but I don't even see it on the thumbnail. And I've been looking for it for like 10 minutes now... so I called my wife in to see if she could find it. She pointed right to it, and the darndest thing... I still can't see it! Also apparently I was just informed I'm sleeping on the couch tonight.
Joking aside, wonderful job on the satchel and video!!

I appreciate your lack of waste in how you cut the parts, for the most part. You’re better than others. I’m more zen in my approach and really do generally let the hide speak before I cut. Again, I will say, only as a call-back joke, “We don’t need no stinking pattern”. I learn something.. new after watching any of your vids. Thank you. I’ve only been doing the craft for 40 yrs. i’d show some work, but nobody’s asked. Your knife skill is inspiring. However, I still think I best you on sewing without a pony. I love the handle hack! I’ve been doing it with rope. BRILLIANT! Really, I watch you more than any of the others, including DieselTony, although he’s excellent. I actually feel that you have more fun. I did shoe repair for over ten yrs. and then worked for Tandy for another nine. All that time I NEVER saw the skill and love for the craft I see in your vids. Thx, again. Keep up the beautiful work.

Great looking bag! I appreciate all the work you put into filming. I need to up my game! I get tired just knowing the amount of work that goes into filming from countless camera angles to keep the video interesting. I know that really slows down production, but it’s well worth it. Your videos are fun to watch and highly informative! I’m envious of your workspace and steel weight & bench block collection! Have you ever released a video where you didn’t spill something on your bench? LOL

    • @MasconLeather
      @MasconLeather  4 года назад +2

Thanks!! Yes, it slows it all down. It’s about 3 hours of filming for 1 minute of finished footage. 200-300 clips in a 10 minute video. But it’s fun.

Oh man. I was awake until sun up last night designing something similar. And today whilst having a lazy day I find someone's done almost the same thing. Years ago.
The differences are minor aswell. Mine is smaller and that's prob the most outstanding difference. That and I'm using recycled copper pipe flattened out in a couple of places and using copper tube for the handle over top of leather.
I just hope none of my clientele watch your videos haha.
I love copper and leather and wood.

Cool video man. Awesome bag. I see you have a copper rivet video linked. I'm going watch because I love that look. I used some other rivets to repair a sheath and i really didn't like them.

As I was zipping through your videos, I didn't see one for a backpack.
Also, I noticed that you'd done a railroad spike knife. Would you be interested in some replacement hooks for your leather rack? I thought I counted 17 bars for your rolled leather. I'd be happy to replace those for you with some hand-forged ones, my only request is that you show us how to make a backpack. Oh, and if you could show us how to make an archers backpack that'd be even better. I suppose the difference between a regular backpack and an archers backpack is that you'd be able to carry arrows, too. So, incorporating some kind of quiver and not necessarily the round circle but rather something a bit more modern like what you'd put on a bow today.
You've got some quality work here! Great job! Let me know if you're interested.

    • @MasconLeather

I have 7 racks total. and 250+ hides of leather. 100's of hooks. Also, the knife video you mentioned was my son. Mason. "Mascon Forge".
That all being said, I don't need any hooks.
I won't be making any more bag videos any time soon. A 3 hour wallet takes 40 - 50 HOURS to film. A bag video takes 60 - 80 HOURS. I'm currently booked up with orders through April 2021, so I simply don't have the time to film long videos such as bags. I need to focus more time and attention to the orders on the books.

@@MasconLeather Makes sense. No worries. The quality of your videos is very high. I understand that time associated with recording/editing/producing videos, too, especially when I make knives.
If you get a moment and are interested, swing by my channel to see some of the work I've done.
      Keep up the great work!
