    Most people who never saw MJ play don’t realize what a great defender he was. MJ was the total package and is the GOAT

    Anybody who actually watched Jordan play, cannot honestly say that Lebron is close to him as a basketball player. He is the unquestioned GOAT!! It is such a shame we only got 13 full years of him as a player.

    • @rickwelch8464
      @rickwelch8464 Год назад +3

      This is not true at all. I have seen both play for their entire careers. Do you really think MJ could stop LeBron coming through the lane? The size difference alone makes it a much closer comparison than the MJ slurpers would have you believe. MJ was more fun to watch but LeBron is a complete beast as well.

    • @luciofilipe
      @luciofilipe Год назад

      yes. jordan is a better defender. lebron was "stopped" by worse players in finals when it mattered. but you can't really stop high caliber players you can held them down a bit but thats al, still jordan is on a diff level @@rickwelch8464

    • @fsociety7494
      @fsociety7494 Год назад +40

      @@rickwelch8464 Ok, lets flip your question; do you think Lebron can stop MJ from doing whatever he wanted on the court? the answer is no. No one is saying Lebron is not a good player, top 5 for sure. However, if you have been watching basketball as long as you claim, it is plain to see that lebron was aided by the softening of the game, facilitating those easy drives to the basket with no punishment for doing it, and the unquestioned fact that the east conference was unequivocally weak throughout his time there. Whenever someone acknowledges that someone is the best at there craft, (Eminem, MJ, Tom brady, Gretzky, etc). None of whom is my personal favorite, then detractors have to come with Stan or Slurper as you used, which is lame AF.

    • @rickwelch8464
      @rickwelch8464 Год назад +2

      @@fsociety7494 When one wants to support a claim but has no evidence they use words like "Plain to see" and "unquestioned" which is clearly lame AF and the mark of a slurper. Look, they are 1A and 1B and it's simply preference as to which is which but to say MJ is clear cut goat is definitely in question. MJ never had to DRAG an entire roster of scrubs to the finals, and he had a hof coach his whole career and was surrounded by talent. And to answer your question, yes, LeBron could likely hold MJ down to a reasonable number on any given night with his size and dominant ability in the lane. MJ better hit jumpers all night or get fast break points if he wants a big night. Top 5? You really need to stop hating for the sake of hate. Lemme guess, Kobe? bahahahahha

    • @fsociety7494
      @fsociety7494 Год назад

      @@rickwelch8464 Yeah, Top 5. Kareem, Magic, wilt, others have arguments, can be shuffled for many however they like. My favorite player growing up was Allen Iverson (who would be in no one's debate), I just loved the toughness and how dominate he was for his size. Doesn't change the fact of what I was watching, and again here we go with the new age troupe, if you don't agree with someones stance on a issue, your labeled a "hater". Easiest tool to pull out, in all walks of society. For some evidence I recommend a video ruclips.net/video/tl3mR6eoEa8/видео.htmlsi=iQtSlcvJZqjraSA0.

    Very nice reaction! The Best Rare Video (Voyager) is also incredible. Also Jordan's Underrated Wizards Years will put his time as a Wizard into perspective. On the flip side Lebron is also first in Turnovers for his position and in first all-time in the NBA. He is also first in missed free throws for his position and top five all-time in the. NBA. So, as great as Lebron is he has some serious deficits. Jordan does not lead the league or is top five all-time in any negative categories.

    Jordan had this cool aspect to him, where he absolutely hated
    it when someone talked shit about him, and absolutely loved an "impossible" challenge. So, if he heard someone talk shit about him before a game ("he isn't going to dunk on me," "let's see him try to get past me," etc.), Jordan would go out and just absolutely destroy that particular player on the court. Dunking right in their face, etc. Then, when games got really close and the Bulls were down by a point or two, Jordan would go out and make some crazy, final seconds play that won them the game.

Greatest ever...it will always be up for debate. MJ said he wasn't the greatest because he never got a chance to play against the GREATS before him. The same guys that he took pieces of their game and added to his. The rules didn't change for MJ, he just got in the weight room and got stronger. Not only the Bulls won the game, MJ was the MVP and in defiance, signalled back to the player and saying "you can't see or catch me". That was a hell of a statement right there. Also, he's known by Jordan Air for a reason. He simply was the player with the highest time spent in the air, he could jump higher and further than anyone else. It was a thrill to watch him play. He played all out all the time. He was deceptively fast, and quick as a cat. But it was his basketball IQ and his mentality that made him stand apart. Yes, he had bad games... Yes, he missed shots with the game on the line. He felt like it was those things that made him better. The Pistons beat him up physically. He started the breakfast club and lifted weights early in the morning before practice to get stronger. He met every challenge head-on and never backed down. He praciticed like he played and that was intentional, as well. Practice like you play... He was also quoted as saying "why would I worry about missing a shot I haven't taken yet?"... He was just different - the total package. I don't like to discuss greatest of all time because the league has changed over the years and there have been players I never had the privilege of watching. But, MJ transcended the sport... People that had never watched basketball were drawn to the game... he became the most popular person on the planet in the 90s. Not sure that one could say that about any other player.

    When you take biased fandom out of the equation and look at it purely factually, in every single metric and analytic available, Jordan is the #1 player in NBA history. LeBron is a top 5-10 player at best.

    One thing about his first retirement that people forget is his father was murdered and he wanted to honor his father's wish to play pro baseball so he did during his retirement from basketball but he couldn't stay away.

    I didn't realize it at the time, some of the best memories I had were staying up late with my dad on school nights watching Jordan and the Bulls. You never knew what what to expect, just that Jordan was going to do something amazing. I'm older now, and my dad has passed, but watching these mixtapes bring me back in time for a little bit.

    I know I’ve already commented on this video already probably because I love this video. But the look of disgust on the young lady’s face when he stole the ball and shot it from the parking lot, and the look of death she had on her face when he shot the ball behind the backboard … are a testament to how great Michael Jordan was as a player. Anybody who got to see him play had those looks on their faces every single night and it was worth it.

Crazy quick , fluid moves ' killer instinct' most competitive man ever . And a lock down defender. Played all the games so many min. And everyone hitting him. Lbj who ?

    Forget all the real obvious things that puts MJ above LeBron, Kobe and others (to which no one is really able to reasonably dispute) but there are other things that no one ever brings up to further separate Jordan's greatness far away from the pack:
    - MJ NEVER switched teams in hopes to catapult himself and gain an advantage to win a Championship.
    - MJ NEVER lobbied to upper Mgt, the media or even let alone talk to other players to join the Bulls in hopes to catapult himself and gain an advantage to win a Championship either.
    - MJ was clearly the game's greatest hardwood assassin and the most clutch player to ever lace them up in NBA history.
    - MJ struck far more fear into the hearts of his opponents than anyone else.
    - MJ NEVER took a game off let alone a PLAY off on either side of the court.
    - Other than Pippen, MJ 3-peated twice with two entirely different player rosters for each run.
    - Here's a doozy for you. In November of 1990, the Bulls lost their very first 3 games of the season. Since then, Michael Jordan never lost 3 games in a row again until June 1998. Only TWO 3-game losing streaks in a span of 626 games reg & post season. That is literally one of the most astronomically impossible feats ever accomplished in basketball.
    - Imagine this: where does one think MJ would be had he played 20 HEALTHY years compiling longevity stats? Mmhmm. Exactly!
    - First player (of 3 now: Olajuwan/Pippen are the other two) in NBA history to ever record 200 steals/100 blocks in a single season, and MJ did it... but guess what? MJ did it TWICE. No one else has. Truly an insane feat. Only 6 centers in the league had more blocks than the shooting guard #23 had during his DPOY season.
    - Folks seem to think MJ was not a play maker, whereas King James is. Not so fast. In 1989 to close out the season, Micheal Jordan played the last 24 games of the season as a Point Guard. In that span of time he averaged 30.4 points, 9.2 rebounds, 10.7 assists, and 2.5 steals per game and all while shooting .498 from the floor. He also had an 11-game stretch in which he recorded 10 Triple Doubles. That's Wilt Chamberlain territory who back then owned the record stretch of 10 consecutive games with a Triple Double. (Russel Westbrook currently has it with 11 now). It would seem pretty obvious the numbers Michael Jordan could have put up if he continued playing a point guard position too.
    - To make it even more clear, MJ dominated the NBA game as a.... get this... a guard. Let that sink in.... A GUARD!!
    There are so many other accolades and accomplishments to choose from, but I'm sure everyone gets the gist. Michael Jordan could literally do anything he wanted, anytime he wanted and against anyone he wanted and BETTER than anyone too. THAT is just a bad man.
    Look, from a practical standpoint, it is fair to say that those of us who have actually watched all of these gifted players in the totalities of their respective careers as well as many other great past players, can bolster a more intellectually honest comparison and opinion. Rather than those who grew up only exclusively watching King James or Black Mamba for example. I happen to be one of those that has watched them all. Without a doubt, like the majority of others who have watched them all, or played against them, the masses agree. The legendary galactic freak show His Airness is hands down, categorically the GOAT... period. I can also say with honesty that I feel King James perhaps has had the greatest CAREER of any basketball player in history... but he is not the GREATEST basketball player to ever lace them up. MJ is the GOAT hands down. There is NO close 2nd either. That's right. I said "not EVEN CLOSE."
