My grandma would make me this anytime I asked before she passed away. She was born and raised in Fiji. I wish I told her more often how much I love her.
Dear Nocap, Sorry to hear about your grandma. I am sure your grandmother would be proud of you when you make this recipe all by yourself and think of her when you eat it. Regards Anita.
Anita you are amazing,I had these Mac tins lying in my kitchen for ages, but you explained it so well ,I made it and everybody enjoyed it,now mackerel is top on my shopping list.

Dear Peter, I love eating any type of tin mutton curry . I think they are all delicious. My family loves toasted tin mutton sandwiches. Keep safe. Regards Anita.
Dear Stephanie, I bought it from a German store called Aldi , in Australia. It is a special buy item which comes for sale every 3 - 6 months, comes in 3 different sizes and are non stick. The small one is $20, Medium size is $23 and large is $25. Check to see if you have a Aldi store near you. Regards Anita.
Hi Anita Kaise hai. I really like your recipes they are easy to follow. Can you give me a suggestion if I don’t have tamarind or lemon what else can I put in the tin fish? Thanks
Dear Evelyn, Hum tik hai. Tum kaise hai? We use tamarind or lemon juice to get rid of the fishy taste, but you can always cook without them. One of my aunts loves cooking fish curry without either of the ingredients because she loves the fishy taste. You can cook without it and see what you think of it. If not you can always use the bottled lemon juice which can be kept in the fridge after opening. You don't have to use tamarind or lemon juice if you don't have it. Besides you will get enough sourness from the tomatoes and try to add little extra garlic. Hope this was helpful. Regards Anita.
Dear Matt, I know right. There are so many different recipes that can be made using can mackerel and I have already posted a few different recipes as well if you are interested. Regards Anita.
Dear Farzana, I have used green chilli but you can always use chilli powder if you like. My family uses tamarind in everything but I like to use lemon juice in this recipe, but you can always replace it with tamarind if you like. I prefer lemon juice to tamarind in certain curries. The choice is yours. Regards Anita.
Dear Kavya, No, it does not have a sweet taste, because chilli is added according to one's taste. You can also add lemon juice or tamarind. Regards Anita.
