    Please provide a review or at least your opinion on the comparison between the 2023 Wilson Pro Staff 97 V14 and the Wilson Blade 98 16x19 v8, and how players can adjust stringing and other options in order to optimize between the two rackets depending on the players' varying preferences, styles, and levels of play. I love both rackets and am having trouble deciding how to find the best points of performance in the areas where they differ. For example, the possibility of putting more responsive stringing in a Pro Staff versus stiffer response stringing in the Blade, or potentially of strategically adding weight to the Blade frame. Thank you.

    I think strings and tension make much more of a difference than the racquet. I bought the v13 and am currently experimenting with strings and tensions. So far loving the lux alu power the most but looking at Solinco confidential at a lower tension for a more budget friendly option.

    • @capricornmagic63
      @capricornmagic63 10 месяцев назад

      True. Ivan Lendl said the same, it's the strings and not the frame that makes the distance

    • @AstroPatel
      @AstroPatel 9 месяцев назад

      @@capricornmagic63 One exception IMO is the overall weight. A heavy frame will make a difference, and surface area of the strings also matter. Otherwise I agree

    What are te difference between the prostaff x and 97 v14.0? Currently playing with the v13 and i love this racket! Considering buying the newer version as main racket.

    • @RacquetGuys
      @RacquetGuys  Год назад +2

      Hello Roellie,
      The if you are comparing the Pro Staff x vs the Pro Staff 97, you would notice a few things. The Pro Staff X has a larger head 100sq" more power and is a more player friendly racquet. The PS 97 is a racquet that has a much firmer feel upon impact, more control and is less forgiving when you dont quite hit in the sweet spot.
      if you are currently playing with the older version of the PS 97, your going to find that the V13 has a much softer feel and more power compared to the current generation v14. - Richard

    My son is 10 and is currently using Head Gravity JR 26”. He needs to change to a 27” racquet very soon as his skill level has outgrown the HGJR. I am thinking to get the Wilson Pro. 97 v14L for him. Any thoughts?

    • @andrewseung2692
      @andrewseung2692 11 месяцев назад

      In my opinion, although the v14 L might seem like a good idea, I think that its still a little too unforgiving because although its lighter it will have the con of being very unforgiving when hitting off center. I would recommend the head gravity team or Wilson blade 100L instead as they are good rackets with a big enough sweet spot and doesn’t completely punish you for hitting off center.

    • @RacquetGuys
      @RacquetGuys  Год назад +3

      Hello Edus,
      I would have to say the the Gravity pro is much different than these two frames, especially the V14. The Gravity pro first of all has a larger headsize and a much denser string pattern. This provides the player with a much more forgiving string bed, more control and a much lower launch angle than both of the Wilson PS. The V14 plays much stiffer and I find is more stable than both frames ever since they added paradigm bending. - Richard

    • @RacquetGuys
      @RacquetGuys  4 месяца назад +1

      Hello there,
      the stiffness between the two frames isn't too different you are looking at 64for the 95S and 66 for the V14. But with the racquet being older 2014 if i'm not mistaken.. the more times the racquet is strung it will cause micro fractures in the frame making it more flexible. So depending on how many times its been strung it could be a very big difference. If you want to be a little safer with a softer feeling frame i would go with the previous generation V13. - Richard

    I was a prestige user, and I am using V13, but sometimes I feel is a bit stiff. However if I try lower tension the ball goes to the wall. Do you think I should go for V14 or go back to prestige?

    • @RacquetGuys
      @RacquetGuys  8 месяцев назад

      Hello Andonivr,
      I have been in the same boat as you, years back I had played with the Prestige youtek Series and was looking at pro staffs also. With the Prestige line having stiffness's of: Tour 62, Pro 58, and MP L 61 and the PSV14 at 66 with paradigm bending and the PSV13 65RA I would actually recommend going back to the prestige. The V14 is a very solid playing frame actually much more then the V13.. IF you find that the V13 is already to firm then the V14 would feel even firmer. If you are worried about balls going to the wall have you thought about changing your tension or type/brand of string you are currently using? - Richard

    • @andonivr
      @andonivr 8 месяцев назад

      @@RacquetGuys I tried a lot of different polys different tensions, but I need to use 56-58lbs to keep the ball in. However I played with my prestige youtek using 50lbs and I feel much better in terms of confort, not same spin but more control. I am thinking prestige pro. By the way do you ship to Mexico ? And if yes do you ship by FedEx or dhl?

    "Paradigm bending" my a**.. it is the very same 2018 Pro Staff 97 with a new livery for a change. Another marketing ploy to get people to (not) buy the discounted last years. And it does work for some people that are new to the game. But for the rest of us.. good luck Wilson!

    The new one is more polarized…more lag and snap. More stable. And that also makes it more comfortable, besides the new flex pattern.
    Is the string spacing absolutely the same? Same grommets for the v13 and v14?

    You had not mentioned the string, which one you had played with. Its fair if you compare it with the same strings. Further its unfair if you had not mentioned the tension , what string tension you had played with. Further there is no comparison for one hand back hand, for which pro staff is famous for. Although there are many other points which you had not explained. It seems you are in a hurry to rush to court.. W/o substantial facts its simply a immature openion and a marketing video. Sorry man......work hard.
